Chapter 4 He walked closer to Ashley and she tried to avoid his stares, "Don't ever involve yourself in my business otherwise I deal with you." Ashley started laughing "Ryan is my business and I will not tolerate any asshole like you talking to him in that manner." she talked back. "Did you just call me an asshole?" he tightened his fist and she was about to give him another bomb when Abigail covered her mouth. "We are sorry sir please forgive my friend, she can be crazy at times," she said, dragging her out and Ryan went on his knees to apologize on her behalf. "I will let you be but I won't let her be, let's leave here." Barry Mazza drove home and took wine from the fridge immediately to drink. "She is annoying, this is the first time a lady will disrespectfully talk to me, I won't let this slide, I must teach her a lesson at all costs," he vowed. His phone started ringing and he checked the caller, it turned out to be his close friend Hebert. "Hey man, where are you? I stopped by the office and was told you stepped out." "I am home now." "Okay I will drive home to see you then," he said, ending the phone call. In less than an hour, Hebert was already with him laughing out his ribs after hearing everything Barry had experienced at the bar. "Why are you laughing? Do you think it's funny?" he questioned, still angry. "I am sorry but it's funny." he laughed again. "Just get out of my house, you are of no use." "I am sorry, you don't need to pick on me besides I am not the lady who offended you." "Whatever." he took his seat and turned on the TV. "I would love to meet the lady who got some guts to talk back to world Mazza, I guess she doesn't know your identity yet, if she does, she will go on her knees begging." "You just said out what is on my mind, she doesn't, that's why when I get a chance I will go back there and deal with her." "Come on man, she is a woman, don't waste your strength on her, okay, let it go ." "I won't let her go, she should have learned to talk politely since she knows she is a woman," he added. "Okay fine, do anything you wished to do, and don't forget to brief me about it, I would love to head the rest of the story ." "Go to hell." "By the way, what are your plans for getting married?" Herbert questioned. "I am not ready for marriage, my parents are just wasting their time, I still have more important things to do." "You know your mother doesn't have the patience right? Either you get one or she does it for you ." "It's my decision Herbert and there is nothing they can do about it, talk about the nagging devil herself," he said, seeing a call from his mother and his friend laughing about it. "Hello, mom." "Come to the house immediately." She ended the phone call. "Is everything fine?" "I don't know, my mom wants me to come to the house to meet her at once." "Okay, you need to get ready to meet her and see for yourself, I will come to the office tomorrow to see you." "Okay." * * * At the female toilet in the bar, Abi took her friend there. Ashely finally took off her friend's hand from her mouth. "What do you think you are doing? Why didn't you let me finish off that annoying guy?" Ashley questioned, still boiling in anger. "Ashely, calm down, what do you think you are doing? Are you trying to play the hero here?" Abigail questioned her in an angry tone. "Why do you think about it that way ,Abigail? I am playing no hero here, I just don't like the way he talked to Ryan, I had to do something ." "What if what you did places him in trouble? I am trying to take care of you and sometimes Ryan supports you with his money since you can't get a job and all you could do is place his job at risk ." "That's not what I wanted, Ryan's job is very much intact, believe me." She tried to assure her friend. "You don't say that the man you just insulted has the say to that, I told you who the man was but you insisted on doing what is in your mind and I just hope he let it slide, you owe Ryan an apology," Abi concluded and left her to meet Ryan at the bar to ask him if the man left angrily and also to know if he still gets to keep the job Ashely could not believe after standing up for her friend this is what she will get. "Fine, I won't regret it, I did the right thing and that's what I know." She concluded and stepped out. "Ryan, did I make you lose your job?" "Why would you think such? Besides you were on fire just now, I will tell you a secret ." "Which is?" "You are the First Lady talking back at him, just be prepared, he might let me go but you I doubt." "Then let him come, I will show him what I am made up of." she boasted and Ryan laughed at her. "If she can get a job then I can believe you," Abi added and they argued a little bit. A few moments later, Ashely returned home first, had her bath, and sat on the floor having a deep reasoning. She is a boss herself but decided to lose everything because of the marriage proposal her parents brought to her table. "Should I return to my parents? Now staying alone without a job is getting hard for me. Or Should I continue the hardship without calling for help?" She questioned her thoughts. "I know Abigail has tried to take care of someone like me with high taste, I need to feed myself."
