Chapter 3

Two Weeks Later. Settling down in the penthouse was not a problem on her path. It felt like home, maybe because it had become her home. She heaved a deep breath, taking a seat on the couch. She sat down and gulped down the water, She was still looking for a job but still had not gotten one yet. $100,000 was not big enough when it came to the daily ins and out of her life. "Hey." She heard a faint voice call and then followed by footsteps "Hey, Ashy." She heard Abi's faint voice call as she walked down the stairs. "When did you get here? I was beginning to die of boredom." It was Abigail and she had a beautiful dress on that made her look like a princess. "Hi Abi, good afternoon... What's the time?" Ashley asked, and Abi snorted. "The time is 3:23 pm!" "Care to go for a drink?" Abi asked, and she nodded. "A drink would do." Ashley chuckled, and Abi laughed. "You should get changed. you don't want to wear that to a bar." She said, staring at Ashley's dress. Ashley was wearing a small bomb shot and a club top. It was the first body-showing dress She had ever worn, and it was amazing... She giggled, picking up her bag from the small fancy marble that decorated the floor. Making it look more beautiful than it pays. Although some other things were lacking. She dropped it on the chair and pulled out her leather Trouser and a blue top. "How about this one?" Ashley asked, and Abi nodded. "It's better and sexier." She answered, and smirked. Ashley quickly discarded the ones she was wearing and wore the ones that had been chosen. "It's perfect, let's go already." Abi huffed, as Ashley stared at the Ashle. Abi grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room. Her life in the penthouse was not that bad, and she liked it. Went out with Abi whenever I liked and visited many places although covered with a veil. And talking, drinking with her other friends... she had never thought having all these would ever make her happy but Damn! she was. "Stop smiling and stop staring at me, you might tear your pretty lips!" Abi mumbled as she shook her head. She didn't even realize she was staring at her and smiling like an i***t. She was beginning to wonder who was the nerd between us. "You're nerdier I thought." "I think I'm not a nerd like they say." She shrugged and laughed. There was nothing wrong with Abi. She was a kind, pretty, and good friend. She was not anything close to being a nerd, but friends decided to make fun of her. "Where are we going?" Ashley asked, and Abi pouted. "What about McKay's?" She asked, and Ashley shrugged. "Any place is fine by me, as far as you're the one footing the bill," Ashley replied, rolling her eyes. "You're making that spicy chicken stew for me if I foot the bill. Deal?" She questioned. "Why not?" Ashley chuckled. "I will surely make you a spicy chicken Stewart if only you're the one buying the items," She said and they both laughed. "You'll find a job, Miss Bantino or I'll certainly go bankrupt." She said and Ashley laughed. "Don't worry honey, I will get one soon," "Better!" *** "Hi, Ryan." They both waved to the guy at the counter. "Hi, my princesses." He winked and Ashley chuckled. "Mind if we crash here?" Abi asked as they sat near the counter. "For both of you, I'll even pull out King Arthur's Sword," Ryan muttered, and she rolled her eyes while Abi huffed. "Says someone that hates to touch knives and anything sharp." Ashley feigned a smile and he laughed. "Okay, I'll do anything other than touching knives and anything sharp." He corrected and Abi nodded, smiling at him. "What do you both need?" He asked. "Bacardi Rum," Abi answered, clapping her hands together. Just two weeks away from home and away from some stupid rules that made her feel like s**t and all... Two weeks and she was happy, although she lacked money, she was happy and smiling. "What about you Queeny?" Ryan asked. "Stop calling her that, Ryan.... she's not out for anyone." Abi winked at him. "Bacardi Rum too." "Can somebody tell me what the hell is going on here?" They both heard a deep baritone voice half yelled. She turned, and so did Ryan, and Abi. "Oh my, I'll be back beauties... Duties calls!" Ryan mumbled and ran off. "He looks as if he will die soon," Ashley muttered, and Abi nodded. She looked at the man that had just yelled. His voice was heavenly. Maybe he was an angel that was thrown down to earth and his voice carried that angelic voice that only he could spurt out. "He has a nice voice!" Ashley muttered. "And it kind of looks familiar you know," She mumbled again, twitching her lips. "Yeah, he kind of sounds familiar or looks familiar Ashy, maybe we met him on one of those occasions," Abi said, and Ashley nodded. "His name is Barry Mazza, Owner of Mazza Corporation. He is by far the richest man California has." "He clocked Twenty Five this year and he is considered a God, because of his looks," Abi explained and Ashley nodded. "But why is he yelling at Ryan like that?" Ashley asked. Mazza? The name sounded familiar, very familiar. "He is a VIP Ashy, you don't expect him to talk smoothly like their friends. Do you?" Abi chuckled. "I have been standing here for hours, young man, and if I don't get what I want... someone will get it." The man half yelled again. He was handsome no doubt, he was supposed to be given the title of being the best handsome man alive. But then the way he was talking made way for his handsomeness. Do people just talk and look down on people that are poor just because they're rich? I am rich, and yet I was kind. "You don't have to yell at him Sir, he's a human like you," Ashely said, gritting her teeth. "And why the hell did I call you Sir just now?" She mumbled, glaring at the man that had left Ryan and was now glaring at her Not that he could hit me or fire me. He was just a human like all of us, he just had money and so do I. Some things that could make the world go around. "And who the hell is she?" He asked, turning to Ryan that was shaking like he had been sentenced to death. "She's a customer." He replied. "I'm his friend and I hate when rich brats embarrass and look down on people because they aren't on your level." "Trust me, you might become him tomorrow and he might become you," Ashley stated and he laughed. "For someone who looks like a nagging wife, you surprise me." He mumbled, walking toward her. "Well, I'm not some people that yell at the poor just to clear the fact that their money is dropping in the streets." She smiled. She could see his brows knitting to a frown and his hand clenching into a fist. "You should mind the words you say Miss whatever they call you... people like you don't last long." He said as he stood in front of her. He was so tall, that she stopped at his shoulders. His shoulders looked broad but then it wasn't. His cheek had that beautiful part that says... smiling was his forte. Her cheeks heated. She was checking him out. How Whimsical of her! She groaned. This was not what she does, check out someone she had just met. Someone that needed to learn what Respect meant. "Is this what you do?" He chuckled, straightening his suit jacket and standing tall. "What?" She frowned. "You put your mouth in talks that don't concern you, so you could just check the other opponent out?" He asked. Her cheek heated, and Damn! she was sure he could see it as well. "That's not what it is." "My intentions are right Mr. Barry and in as much as they ladies in here are ogling on to you. I would never try to make fun of others." She defended herself, lying in the process. Yes, she was checking him out but she would never let him know that. He would make sure to use that against her. "Are you sure?" He laughed, as he walked away... leaving her breathless. "Stop talking Ashy, it's enough." Abi tugged on her shirt and she nodded. "What I hate the most is when someone takes the situation in her hands, just so she could feed her eyes with what she desires." "I consider those kinds, Perverted Geezers!!"
