Chapter 3 Him

{Unknown POV} 

    A strong scent of vanilla and cinnamon hit me. I got up quickly and my beta looked at me. Mate. Tate said quickly. I nodded and headed toward the scent, but before I could get any further Veronica stepped in my way. She grabbed on to my collar and pulled me towards her. "Hey hunky. Lets say we blow this joint and go have fun," She slurred. Her breathe reeked of alcohol and she was clearly drunk as if her words didn't explain it enough. Her brother pushed through a crowd of people and saw her hanging on me. "Sorry not tonight," I said as her brother pulled her off of me. He apologized and I nodded as if to say "It's fine." Though she didn't take to it lightly. "UGH your such jerk. Ever since you rejected me you have spoken to me since," She slurred angrily. I shook my head and walked away. My second chance. Was all I could think as I pushed past the people in the crowd. 

    I finally made my way to the back and I looked around until my eyes landed on her. She was beautiful. The most beautiful girl I ever saw standing with 4 guys. Her outfit hugged her curves just right. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I could hear my heart in ears as she walked toward me. She had some effect on me I couldn't describe. She soon was a few inches in front of me. I regained my confidence and smirked. "Hey doll. Its nice to finally meet you," I said softly. I heard her breathe hitch and it made me chuckled. "What's so funny?" She asked shyly. I smiled and pulled her closer. "Be mindful of the necklace man," One of them said. I gently reached around her neck and guided my finger along the chain pulling it out of her shirt. I kissed the charm and let it dropped back in her shirt. "I don't intend on breaking that," I said and looked at them. We could really use them in the pack if they are willing to protect her. I said mind linking with my beta. Within seconds he was right by my side. "Alpha," Jake said. I nodded and he pulled out bracelets. He handed them to the guys and they looked at them. "As long as she is protected and safe. Also as long as you are respectful to us and her then yes," The older guy said. He put the bracelet on as did the others. 

    I pulled out a velvet box from my suit jacket and opened it. There laid a bracelet with a black diamond in the middle that said "My Luna. Always and forever!" She smiled as she looked at it. "Are you willing to accept me as your mate?" I asked. I could tell she was thinking. My heart pounded as I waited for the answer. 

    "Yes," 

{Rainn's POV}

    "Yes," I said softly. I smiled and looked at him. His touch made my skin tingle. I bit my lip as he lifted my wrist and put on the bracelet. "I am Ryder and you are?" He asked as he lifted my chin with his knuckle. I giggled and melted in his touch. "R-Rainn," I stuttered out. He chuckled again. "Stuttering already. You were so confident just now," He said smirking. I giggled and grabbed his hand. "By the way our pack is called the shadow pack," He said. I nodded. "I think its time we grab our stuff and head out back to the pack house," Ryder said a guy. "I'm Jake by the way," He said. He looked at Ryder and nodded. 

    Ryder held my hand tightly and started walking the direction of the house. My brothers followed behind as we walked. Soon we reached the house and we walked in. My mother was on the couch and the smell of alcohol was very prominent in the room. She looked over at us, but her eyes trained on me. "OH MY GOSH MY BABY!" She yelled. Her mascara was running down her face as she got up and ran to me. Her arms wrapped around me tightly. It was clear she was drunk. 

    I was trying to push her off, but it was clear she had a death grip. My brother Jax grabbed her as Ryder grabbed me. They pulled us apart. "I missed you so mu-," I cut her off. "You missed me? After all those year of you and Miles abusing me? After you chaining me up to the pole in the basement because I told you that I didn't want to do one simple thing because I was tired? Don't you DARE pull that crap with me. Especially since your acting like a child right now," I said. I could tell she was hurt, but I didn't care. I walked away and followed Ryder up the stairs. 

    Once we got to the third floor we headed to his room and opened it. Jake was packing the stuff. Ryder went and helped him. Once they were done we headed down stairs and saw my mother asleep on the couch. I tried to grab one of the bags from Ryder, but he refused. "I got it doll. I can do it," He said and kissed my cheek. He walked out the door as did Jake along with my brothers. Once they were gone I ran down to the basement to a secret door. I opened it and closed it behind me. 

    Rainn what are you doing? Marilyn was getting worried. Everything it fine. I just have to get something before we go. This is the last time I am going to see this place. I answered. I went over to the red velvet box and grabbed it. I grabbed my black bag and stuck the box in there. I put some other things in as well to make it look normal. What is the box for? I sighed. It's a box of letters from my real father. He was sending me letters and having them delivered secretly. I could feel Marilyn get even more worried.

    I left the basement and up the stairs. Ryder was waiting by the front door. "There you are doll. I was wondering where you went," He said as he kissed my cheek. He grabbed my hand and grabbed the bag from me. "Don't worry. I wont say anything and neither will your brothers I promise," He whispered in my ear. I smiled and then felt Marilyn ease a little.

    We left the house to find the car waiting outside. "Your brothers are in the car ahead of us. We will have their stuff shipped to the pack house," Ryder said as he opened the passenger door for me. I climbed in and he set the bag in the back. He climbed in the drivers seat and closed the door. He started the car and drove off away from the house.
