CHAPTER 4 As Draco walked out of Mirabelle's apartment, he brought out his phone and dialled Lamia's number. He picked up after the second ring. “ Hey buddy, have you seen Mirabelle? Are you happy now?” Lamia asked, but Draco said nothing and bit his lower lips. “ Hey, why are you silent?” Lamia asked worriedly when Draco didn't say anything. “ The wedding has been cut off,” Draco said and Lamia chuckled. “ Are you kidding me? What wedding is cut off? You can't do without seeing Mirabelle a day” Lamia chuckled but stopped when Draco said nothing. “ Are you for real? Why would you cut off the wedding when your parents and all the invited guests would be here tomorrow?” Lamia asked, and Draco chuckled sadly. “ I caught her cheating on me with another man” Draco said and Lamia gasped from the phone. “ What the f**k? Are you for real? Mirabelle cheated on you?” Lamia asked and Draco nodded. “ I need to clear my head, meet me at HighWay bar” Draco said and hung up. He entered his car and drove off to the bar. He might run mad if he doesn't drink away his sorrows. Ever since he knew Mirabelle, he fell in love with her at first sight and did everything to make her his. He would even give the world to her, but she returned his love by cheating on him with another man. It was a ten-minute drive from Mirabelle's place to the bar. Draco got there within ten minutes and entered, going straight to the counter to order for a bottle of whiskey. *********** HAILEY'S POV My car came to a halt in front of a club and we both came down from the car. “ Is this the club?” I asked and Lisa nodded with a smile. “ This club has the best beers and wine that would make you forget your sorrows in just a few minutes” Lisa said and I sighed uncomfortably. I have never been to a club before since I am a workaholic and have no time for fun, but today, I was going to give myself a break and have fun, maybe, just maybe I will be able to forget about Matthew and my step-sister. “ Hey, what are you thinking? Let's go in” Lisa held my hand and led the way into the club. As we entered the club, we were immediately struck by the vibrant atmosphere. The music was pulsing, and the dance floor was alive with energy. Lisa held my hand as she led the way, while I followed her like an obedient kitten as we made our way to the bar, where we ordered our favourite cocktails and settled into a cosy corner booth. “ I am not satisfied with cocktails, how about we go for tranquil?” Lisa suggested, and I just nodded. She left to get the drinks while I continued sipping my cocktail. To me, any drink would be fine as long as I could get drunk and spill out everything I have been bottling in the past twenty years since the death of my mother. Soon, Lisa was back with the drinks and we both started drinking. In no time, I began to feel tipsy, and my eyes became drowsy. “ Are you okay, Hailey?” I could hear Lisa's voice from afar as I kept blinking non stop to clear my eyes. “ I......am.....fine” I said and smiled drowsily. Suddenly, a man walked up to us and sat beside Lisa, who was flirting with him already. “ You're so shameless, Lisa” I smiled and she laughed. “ I need to get f****d, babe. It's been a long time since I had s*x” Lisa said and stood up with the man beside her. “ Will you be okay?” Lisa asked me and I nodded and signalled for her to go, and she smiled before walking away with the man. I was now left alone. I kept drinking non-stop until there was no beer left, so I walked up to the counter to order some more beer. “ Get me two bottles of beer” I said to the bartender and he nodded. I sat on the chair beside the counter and turned to my right side only to see a handsome looking man also drinking. From the look on his face, he was sad, and his eyes looked puffy like he cried. “Hey” I said, trying to bring up a conversation. “Hey” he said, uninterested, and I scoffed. “ Just tell me if you don't want me to talk to you” I said, and he turned to face me. “ Who said I was uninterested?” He said and I smiled. “ What brought you here, you look sad and obviously cried. Does it have anything to do with a woman?” I asked and he said nothing. “ We are not close enough to ask such questions about each other” his voice was now cold, and I felt a jolt of adrenaline run through my bones. “My bad” I said and clasped my lip into a thin line. “ What about you, why are you here?” He asked and I smiled sadly. “ My boyfriend cheated on me with my step-sister, so my friend brought me here so I can forget about him” I said and he nodded. “ Me too.” “ You too?” I asked, obviously confused. “ My fiancée, whom I am supposed to get married to in two days time, cheated on me too” the stranger said, and I could feel the sadness in his voice. His story was more painful. Mine, I never intended to get married, but his wedding is in two days time and his fiancée cheated on him. I could understand the pain he was feeling at that moment. “ I'm sorry about that” I mumbled, and he smiled at me. “ Why would you be sorry, not as if you were the one who cheated on me” he said and I sighed. “ This is enough reason for me not to get married. I would rather remain single for the rest of my life than commit to a person who would end up betraying me in the most cruel way ever.” I said, staring at nothing in particular. “ If you aren't getting married, how about a one-night stand?” The stranger suddenly asked after a long silence. “ Huh?” I furrowed my brows confused. “ Will you have s*x with me?” He asked, staring deep into my eyes, making me swallow nothing.
