Lillian’s Pov. “My guide wake up” … “My song wake up” I open my eyes to see a young small girl crying. Is she small, or am I tall? She’s standing weak from the harsh sobs, but she is standing. But she seems far away. I’m too tired to think about it. I reach to wipe her tears, but I guess I’m too tired to raise my hands because they are not responding. My wrists and feet hurt, but I’m too tired to move my head and see why. “My guide! Please keep your eyes open. The others are coming” she said. “ shhh, little one” I was not shocked to find my voice to be barely above a whisper. My throat burned from breathing. “Why are you here, little one?” I continued the best I could, trying to comfort the young small girl. Her details were blurry but something told me she was a beautiful, kind young small girl. “My guide, what do you mean I would never leave-“ “You must go home, child. Your family will worry” I interrupted. My eyes were getting heavier, and I didn’t want to leave the child crying while I slept. “My song that is not funny” “You should save your strength and just keep your eyes open” There was hurt and fear in her voice, but in the tremble of her words, there was a hint of anger. “Little one, I must rest now, please leave. I will see you tomorrow if you are so worried.” I heaved a deep breath but only to cough up something metallic tasting. I was so tired.” “In the morning, I will smile wide at the sight”a song rang in my head, and as I sung, well, the best my dry throat could. The girl seemed to know and hummed along. “of your eyes opening for me, for the sun, for my heart to be full on the beauty of…of.” I couldn’t seem to remember, that set off the girl into a harder cry. I didn’t mean to make her more upset, but I really am too tired to remember. “I’m…I’m sorry, little one, but I really must sleep now.” I coughed and coughed and let my eyes shut for what seemed like a moment, and all went quiet. “They won’t find her, I promise…” I woke up from the pain of falling. Strange, I must be a crazy person to sleep standing. No wonder the child was worried. I can’t seem to remember if it was a boy or a girl, but something told me they were beautiful and kind at heart. “You won’t die yet b***h, but you will remember, look at me.” I try to look at the cold voice speaking but my eyes seemed to only lift a little. The person smacked me and repeated their command impatiently. Why is this person hurting me? All I want to do is sleep. Another smack broke my thoughts “Oh no! b***h. I said you will not die. Look at me!” Their voice rang in my head. So loud, it hurts. I tried my hardest to open my eyes to avoid the person screaming again. And still it seemed as if my eyes were swollen from exhaustion. but it was just enough to see those light grey eyes. Void of all emotions but anger, disgust and another emotion I don’t understand as I don’t believe we’ve met before. Hatred. Any other details were blurred out but the eyes seemed to glow. Satisfied a smile creeped into the eyes making the eyes look more like it belonged to unhinged person. “You will remember that you are hiding from strong being who has an obsession with you.” “You will remember he has messengers that will disguise themselves as innocent children, friends, or family. You will avoid them. If they find you will report to me” “Lastly, you will remember to never bleed from injury and leave it on the floor. Never fall in love. And never, if you do I will kill you b***h so remember, to never scream.” As the last words came from those icy grey storms the glow appeared to go away and the remaining energy keeping my eyes open went away. At last, peace.
