The Girl
MARA  Hi. My name is Mara Lee or also known as Lee Mara. I am 20 years old. I'm 5'3 ft. tall, just like any Asian height, not really sure if this is the average height but I guess I got it from my mom. My eyes' colors are brownish which I got from mom and my skin from my dad. My hair is long and wavy.  I am in my third year at my university. I'm majoring in Singer/Songwriter. I basically love singing and writing songs. I want to be an idol. I want to be known as a singer because of my songwriting and not because of my voice only. I got the singing skills from my mom and writing skills from my dad. I also love this famous group called BoyzTown. They are my inspiration for me to pursue this career. They are seven in this group but I have my bias. My bias's name is Jinho. I love him to death. He's really good at singing, dancing, and even composing songs. He's also handsome and funny. I'm half-Filipino and half-Korean. Yup, my mom married a Korean man. They are the sweetest. I have an older brother and a younger sister. We are a happy family. Both my parents, support me and my siblings with whatever we want as long as we study well and we have to graduate first.   My parents' names are Lee Joowon, my dad, and Lim Natasha, my mom. My dad is tall like I think he is 5'10 ft. while my mom is 5'5 ft. My dad is 45 years old while my mom is 43 years old. My dad came from a middle-class family in Korea. When he came to the Philippines, he taught the Korean language as a subject in my mom's university. He finished business entrepreneur in Korea but after he graduated, he did not use his major right away. He volunteered himself in his university as a spokesperson of his university so that he can travel. In his third year of being a spokesperson of his university, he was designated to the Philippines to teach the Korean language in a university. He quickly went off to the Philippines because he was excited. It was his first time traveling in the Philippines. His family is small but very loving too. His parents are not too strict on whom he should marry, the only catch is if he will marry a non-Korean they should live in Korea and not any elsewhere. So that's why y family lives here in Korea. My mom is a Filipina who was studying literature in one of the well-known universities in the Philippines. My mom's side is also in the middle class but mom is a very independent woman. She really works hard for what she is now. She only asks for help when she thinks she needs it. But that rarely happens. She was on her last semester when my dad taught at her university. She told me that it was love at first sight. The Korean language was not yet well recognize at her time but the school offers that. She just took up the subject because she loves Asian literature. And that's how my parents got to know each other. When they got married, they moved here in Korea because that's what my grandparents from the father's side requested. As of now, they are not asking us who will take over the company because they can see what their children want. They're strict when it comes to studying but in life, they are simply the best.  LeeLim Corporation is well-known for its affordable but high-quality home appliances. It caters from the lower class to the high-end class. My parents really worked their a** for this corporation because when they were starting a family, they can't afford appliances that have good quality. Yeah, I know they both came from middle-classes but they got so much pride that they really want to be independent when they started their own family. So when they built this corporation they stayed with their mission vision of catering high-quality appliances for the lower class up to the high-end class. That's why my parents love working on this corporation whether they have big issues or not. Its employees love my parents so much. That's why each employee really works hard. Each employee from the lowest position up to the highest position has benefits. When my brother and I were young, we used to visit the corporation once or twice a week and we get to know other employees. One of its board members is my father's younger brother, Uncle Jiwoo. Dad entrusts Uncle Jiwoo the corporation when he is not around. And I don't see any problem with that because uncle is a very honest man.  Luckily, my older brother is now enjoying his life. He's three years older than me. He got mostly dad's features, that's why people call him Lee Joowon's junior. And I don't object to that. His height is the same as dad but the only features he got from mom are her hair and eyes. His name is Lee Milo. But we just call him Milo oppa. He is an architect, not just an architect. He is a well-known architect right after he graduated. He's pretty smart. His clients are not just rich, businessmen but also idols. He doesn't have his own company even though he's super famous for being the best architect in Korea. But he is planning to build one together with Nikki unnie. Nikki Park is Milo oppa's girlfriend since college. They both graduated in architecture but Nikki unnie is the valedictorian of their class while Milo oppa is the salutatorian. I've seen their relationship grow and I wish to have one like theirs someday.   My younger sister is in her graduating semester in high school. She told me she wants to be an entrepreneur or a marketing advertiser. either way, we support her. She's almost like my twin sister. People kept on asking us if we are twins and we just keep on laughing when we answer them. The only difference is the height. She almost has the same height as mine. My sister and I are the best of the best friends. We fight occasionally but we also make it to a point that we settle things right away. Her name is Lee Mellie, or just Mellie. She's three years younger than me. She's the smartest among the three of us considering my brother's salutatorian degree after graduating from college. When I say, the smartest, like literally she is the smartest. She can compute Math equations in seconds. She is still the baby of the family but she is not a bratty person. I just wish she will stop borrowing clothes from me.  As you can see, my family is well-off. My parents brought us up in humble ways. They taught us to be independent even when we were kids. They taught us to help people in need. They see us as normal children, when I say normal, the ones who don't show off their riches to people. My dad would give us a monthly allowance to spend it wisely. If we spent the allowance without finishing the whole month, we either borrow from him or mom then pay them using our monthly allowance or work in the company as a cleaner, no higher positions for us, until we completely pay the amount of money we borrowed. So we need to be thrifty at times. They never pressured us to inherit the company. Dad would always say to us that, there will be the best person who is willing to inherit the company but of course he or she must know each work of each position in the company. And that's why we love them so much. Milo oppa and I think that Mellie may inherit the company since she wants to be in the marketing or entrepreneur. But again, she is not pressured in that kind of field.  We all live in an average house here in Incheon, Korea. It is a two-story house with a small garden. It is not too big and it is not too small. We all fit in it. It has four bedrooms, all bedrooms are located on the second floor while the kitchen, dining area, living room, and dad's home office are all located on the first floor. Our parents taught us how to clean the house. We get rewarded at the end of the month if we keep the house clean.  *DING* (It was the sound of my phone's notification) Instagram Notification BoyzTown posted a photo I was awakened by my phone's notification. It is a group photo posted on BoyzTown IG page. I screamed internally because all the members are handsome with their new hair color, new hairstyle, and their outfits are just amazing. "Why are you smiling like a crazy person?" said Mellie. We are in the living room, watching our favorite morning show. "Well, BoyzTown just posted a new photo on their IG page and they all love handsome. Ahhhh!" I said. "Can I see?" Mellie asked. I showed her the photo and said, "I loveJungho's hair color." She's not a big fan like me but she admires BoyzTown because of their contribution to our country and to the whole Asian community. "I wish I was their stylist." I said, "I can touch their faces, their hair, and even listen to their crazy dad jokes." Mellie tapped me on my head, "Keep on dreaming, my unnie!" I replied in a composed and calm face, "One day, you will be shocked with what I am doing." And I just continued starring at my phone. Then, I went to my Twitter page to tweet about my feelings for BoyzTown's IG post. Twitter: I feel happy today because my boys, BoyzTown, just posted a new photo on their IG account. I love their hair color, hairstyle, and even their outfits. They're all handsome! Waaaaaaah! #BoyzTown I tweeted.  Then, other fans replied to my tweet. Some agreed to what I said. Some argued like who has the best hair color, hairstyle, or best outfit. But at the end of it, everyone in the fandom is a family.  After that, I continued watching with my younger sister. We keep on commenting about the show. We even argued who will win at the end. After that watching, my sister and I went back to our rooms to prepare the things we need for tomorrow's first day of class.      I'm excited and nervous at the same time. excited, because of my friends, nervous because of my new professors. I saw some comments on our school page that there will be new professors for the third and fourth year this academic year. I even saw a comment saying that one of the new professors is a strict one and never smiles. I hope that is just a rumor. I'll shut my mouth for the rest of the school year than speak. I'm an introverted person, to be honest. I only talk a lot with the people I know. You might be telling me that I took Singing and Songwriting major and I'm that kind of person. Well, I write down what I think and feel, then I try to make it into a song. And when I sing, I become an extrovert person. I feel genuinely happy and adventurous. It's always been like that.      So going back to my preparation for tomorrow, I already prepared my bag and now for the outfit. In our school, we have uniforms to wear but It's just from Monday through Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday, we wear casual clothes. So, I ironed my uniforms already. The uniforms for girls, for Mondays and Tuesdays, are skirt and white blouse, while on Wednesdays, we wear black slacks, a white blouse, and a blazer. We are required to wear black stilettos from Mondays through Wednesdays. I'm fine with it. Ladies in my course or in the field of showbusiness should be used to it. But of course, we still hate it because our legs and feet hurt. But as they said, the show must go on.
