A New Era (3)

After gaining control over Tech Tremor, Dromer went up to Jendar's office and used the 'gate' spell, since his mana was too low to teleport straight back to Lerna. After stepping through the gate he opened right in the middle of his bedroom, the gate closed and he went to sleep, since he was exhausted.

The next day, Dromer started a broadcast all throughout the territory of Lerna Sovereignty

"Attention, citizens of Lerna Sovereignty! I'm the ruler of this nation, Dorian! Yesterday, our territory became two times the size thanks to the addition of Tech Tremor's territory! Yes, Tech Tremor, the country that was founded just a few months ago. I was there for a little while. The ruler of that great nation, Jendar, gave me a proposal. If I fought him and he lost, his nation would come under my rule and be an addition to Lerna Sovereignty and, roles reversed, Lerna Sovereignty would go under his rule and be an addition to Tech Tremor. The battle was fierce, but, in the end, I won. It was close though. If I had been a split second slower, I wouldn't be making this broadcast. Now, this next piece of information is very crucial for you all to know, not so much for those in the region that was once Tech Tremor. The world as we all know it, will be destroyed and our culture, technology and all of our knowledge, will advance quite drastically. THIS IS THE RISE OF A NEW ERA! We might see much more war than before, we might see far less war than before, I am still not entirely sure. Soon, our military power will also rise to unimaginable levels. With that, I'd like to end this broadcast. Long live Lerna Sovereignty!!!"

When the broadcast ended, Dromer wanted to go to the library and write these advancements into a historical scroll, but, as he was passing through the throne room, a guard rushed in

"Lord Dorian! There's a messenger from Trenice, asking for an audience with you with urgent news!"

Dromer stopped, looked at the guard and sat in his throne

"Send him in then."

The guard left the throne room and, after some time, returned with the messenger.

"My name is Grendil. I bring a message from Jin, the ruler of Trenice. Our ruler wants to meet with you for peace negotiations at the inn in the border village in two weeks."

"Thank you, Grendil. Inform your ruler that I accept the request for peace talks."

With that, Grendil left the throne room and Lerna Sovereignty.

In two weeks, Jin arrived in Gyera and was welcomed in a very grandiose way. The people living in Gyera all filled the streets and cheered for Jin as soon as his carriage entered the city.

'Interesting...' Jin thought to himself, 'The citizens of this city are friendly towards everyone. Or maybe that's only because they know who I am?'

Once Jin arrived at the castle, he was escorted to the meeting room where Dromer was already waiting for him.

"Welcome, Jin, to Lerna Sovereignty," Dromer said as he got up from his chair, "I am Dorian, the ruler of this nation. Please, sit down and make yourself feel at home."

"Thank you, Dorian," Jin sat down and continued, "So, let's go forward with the peace talks."

"Yes, let's do just that. I have no reason to even try to start a war with Trenice, considering the fact that my nation is basically ten times the size of yours. I'm not saying your nation is weak, it's actually pretty powerful. All I'm saying is that I won't try to gain land of a country when it earns me nothing.With that out of the way, I'd like to officially sign the peace treaty, if you're willing."

Jin was a bit shocked, but quickly came back to his senses

"Alright, let's do just that then."

With that, Jin and Dromer signed the peace treaty and Jin went back to Trenice.

One month later, all technology in Lerna started to upgrade and change. The quality of people's lives also got better. In another half a month, all soldiers were equipped with the newest equipment.

With this in mind, Dromer knew that the new era of peace and technology would continue making his army weaker. That's why, Dromer banned the use of the newest equipment in training, just so the soldiers would be able to fight even without the armour, if it ever came to that.
