The Alpha’s Fire Siren

“Keep up Thaddy ! Hurry up it’s about to storm and you’ll never beat me to the top before it hits” laughed little Balladyna at her best friend Thaddeus “ Thaddy” , “ in your dreams Balla! I shall never admit defeat ! Not even to you my love!” The little girl with porcelain skin and dark eyes made a grossed out face and tried to cover her face in her long chocolate brown hair while looking down at the little dark haired and yellow eyed boy as he reached his goal at the top of the willow, crushed by his friend scrunching her cute little nose at his admission of love and his cooties! He smiled he couldn’t help it , no one was wonderful like his Balla! She’s the only one out of all the pups who loved adventure and understood him and saw him for him and not just as the alphas son.He just closed his eyes and sighed as he felt the wind that had hints of the storm that was threatening to end their fun and told himself “ when we are all grown up she will love me too !” Everyday after their parents went to train the two would each sneak away from their grandparents after lunch to meet outside to play in the Forrest. They would play Parkour and see who could climb to the top of the giant willow that looked so out of place surrounded by all the giant pines which have stood stoic, tall , and proud hundreds of years before the two little pups below disturbed their peace with laughter and squeals of joy. For pups Thaddeus and Balladyna were abnormally fast and strong , much stronger than the other pups in the Smoke Mountain pack which caused the other pups to be jealous, and both pups to be outcasts when they first started school. Very quickly Thaddeus won over the hearts of his classmates with his kind personality and strong Aura , he is the firstborn son of Alpha Mateus and Luna Lalka and the heir to Smoke Mountain pack. Balladyna on the other hand , ran wild and made it difficult for anyone to get close enough to her to become friends. While she was the pride of the pack’s beta Zygmunt and his Mate Malina and brought him nothing but joy as his only daughter , her classmates on the other hand she constantly infuriated when no one could beat her in gym class or catch her on the playground until the one day the Alpha’s son tackled the little girl. The other pups cheered as the two pups went into a tumble only to land side by side and eye to eye. The little girl smiled a smile that brought one to the normally serious face of the little alpha and from that point on he knew he found his best friend for life. After that day the boy smiled more and a day didn’t go by that the two pups didn’t see each other , they became inseparable. They were trouble they’d often sneak out of school and into the stables to sneak their two favorite forest ponies Bohun and Sapling out to go on adventures. They’d ride out out screaming like two little knights while being chased by the poor omegas who worked in the stables.usually on the way out they release their father’s borzoi to run along side them on their adventure. It’s unusual for werewolves to have dogs and horses , but the Smoke Mountain wolves weren’t a regular pack. Their human counterparts were royalty to also regular humans not only wolves , the human royals would often gift the borzoi as a sign of status to turn such a gift away was considered a huge insult. So the wolves ironically welcomed the wolfhounds into their castle, they stayed as a sign of status. Smoke Mountain itself was a formidable fortress of a castle surrounded by a unique energy and mystique, the castle and town were surrounded by a giant wall , as hundreds of years before werewolves still patrol the walls at night with now a modern touch since cameras were added to assist with surveillance. The castle itself was unique , it was not ever drafty or cold like most it was always warm in the winter even without a single lit fire the legend was that under the hill which the castle was built on hibernated a dragon awaiting for it’s master to born keeping the castle warm with its fire magic. Thaddy’s father claimed it was due to modern heating and plumbing . “Hurry Thaddy , my mama will be so mad if we don’t make it home before the thunder hits” the little girl said looking up at the dark sky , lightening was already glistening in the sky. The two pups quickly slid down the long branches of the giant willow “ don’t worry Balla we will get there on time , I don’t want to get in trouble with your mama either”. Malina the beta female was a witch , 5 years ago the Alpha King and his beta were visiting a distant pack for a Luna ceremony , the entire time the beta was drawn to the water. Halfway through the ceremony he went down to the river only to find a beautiful woman swimming in it and basking in the moonlight, their eyes met a both uttered “ mine”. The rest is history the witch was brought back bearing the betas mark. It made the pack uneasy in the beginning for a witch to be mates to their beta but the white haired woman had long since proven her loyalty. She’s healed many wolves and her gift of sight has been useful in battle. She’s uncovered many secrets hidden in the castle walls and has taken over the job as the historian and advisor to the king. Arguably she held as much power as the Luna. Thaddy’s mother was alpha blooded , she was a great Luna but being Luna to an entire species took its toll on her , she welcomed Malina and the toll she took off her shoulders with open arms. “ hurry Thaddy ! I’m not allowed to get caught in the rain I’m never supposed to , she’s going to send the guards to bring us back and we are going to be in so much trouble” , not swimming in the river or ever getting caught in the rain we’re two strict rules that we’re drilled into Ballys head . The concern in his friends eyes made Thaddy worry, just then he heard a howl , the guards were coming to retrieve them they were going to be grounded for sure! The last time they almost got caught in a rain and the guards had to bring Balky home the pups were kept apart for two weeks and poor Thaddy thought his heart might burst from missing his friend. Tears were welling up in the little girls eyes , “ come on Balla , let’s sneak around the back we will sneak in through the stables and the kitchens that way we won’t get caught ! “ , “ but we will get caught in the rain!” The little girl countered . “ at least we won’t get caught by the guards and kept apart” Thaddy looked at Balla who was in a dilemma so he added “ besides what’s so bad about a little rain “ the little girl smiled and took her friends hand and started to follow him , just at that moment the rain started to fall . The pups ran as they could hear the howls of the wolves getting closer , the sky was so dark and the rain started coming down so hard that it was actually quite frightening but Thaddy could see they were bearing the stables just then he saw a blue light illuminating the path. Selene our goddess is in our side! Thought the hopeful pup , he turned to smile at his Balla only ti see that the blue light was glowing and coming from her eyes, the dark eyes which sometimes glowed like amber when the sun hit the little girls face just right now we’re a bright glowing turquoise and to Thaddy’s shock while he was soaked even though the rain got him soaking wet Bally was completely dry! Suddenly the sky made a strange rumble looking up everything was swirling , the sky looked purple and angry. A giant pair of arms grabbed Balla , it was Zygmunt her father. “ little dove what have you done!! We must get you to inside! I don’t want it to be too late ! “ fear laced the brave Betas strong face , the fear in his face made his little daughter cry before Thaddy could take the blame the man shifted into his Lycan form and darted towards the castle. What in earth was going on?! Thaddy ran after them only to meet his father at the entrance , fear was also laced on his face. “ papa ? “ , “ Thaddeus go to your chambers and don’t come out stay with your mother no matter what do you hear me? No matter what!!” The strong alpha king searched his sons eyes waiting for some sort of acknowledgment. The poor pup was too frightened to react , the king grabbed his son in his arms and started running towards their chambers . His father never ran in his human form , if the little pup was t already frightened he certainly was now but all he had on his mind was Balla . He knew they would have to pass the Beta chambers so he focused on his hearing to enhance to catch any snippet of information on Balladyna . Her terrified expression was tattooed in his mind and her couldnt shake the fear that was quickly encompassing everyone all around . His little heart was beating so fast then he suddenly heard voices “ Balladyna my sweet someday we will meet again , grandma will always love you” he heard her grandmother say, “ Balla. Remember you are special and people will always want to steal a piece of you once they learn just how special you are , but don’t you ever let them you fight like your grandpa taught you , don’t you ever give up I love you!!!” He heard the former beta sobbing like he’s never sobbed before. All he could hear was sobbing , in all the crying he could make out Ballas little voice he could smell her tears and feel the fear and worry rolling off of her. “ Balla , mommy is going to put a little spell on you now it will help you sleep and calm down , you will forget things for a little while” the little pup saw that the door the the beta chambers was opening as they were bearing it , he glanced in and saw Malina putting a necklace with a vail around his crying Balladyna’s neck as she said “ when the time is right this will help you remember, in the meantime it will keep you strong and protect you on our journey”. They’re leaving. No! All over a stupid rain! “ NO! DONT TAKE HER AWAY IM SO SORRY! BALLA DONT LEAVE ME DONT GO!!” The desperate pup screamed as loud as her could clawing at his fathers back, he got one last look at her eyes which were now a turquoise before her mother says a few words in a language unknown to the little boy. The Beta caught his daughter as she fell asleep at the sound of those words and just like the family of three started running in the opposite direction, he saw 5 omegas running after them with their luggage . “NOO!WAKE UP BALLADYNA !COME BACK TO ME!” The pup clawed and screamed all the way to the alpha chambers , the doctor was there with his mother . “ MAMA DO SOMETHING TH……” the pup didn’t get to finish his sentence as the doctor pushed a vail of sleeping potion down the pups throat. With one hateful look the pup was out … the next morning the young alpha awoke and noticed that the castle was unusually cold for fall he could see his breath, his mother walked into the room along with his papa “ mama , papa I had the most terrible dream I dreamt that Balla was gone , I’m going to go see her”. The little pup sat up and started slipping his slippers on determined to go see his friend only to meet the eyes of his father kneeling at his bed side . His fathers eyes were sad and he had a fake smile on, “ son , the beta family agreed to take in a special ambassador mission on my behalf they left yesterday as time was of the essence. Balladyna will get an international education! She will write a d visit as soon as possible , I bet she will have so many interesting stories to share with you! Isn’t that wonderful? You should be very happy for your friend!” . The young prince knew his father was lying, his father never lied. Thaddeus wanted to bear his lying fathers face to a b****y pulp in n that instance, but all he did was throw himself in the man’s arms and cry. From that day on the pup rarely smiled and the castle became cold and drafty , just like Thaddeus’s broken heart.
