Deceitful Love Affair

Chapter II- Love is all that Matters

While Kate is talking to one of her clients, her phone rings, and it's Migs. "Hello! Where are you?" Migs asks.

"I am having a presentation with my new client, is there anything I can do for you, Sir"? Kate sarcastically answers.

"Nothing. Are you coming back to the office after?" Migs asks again.

"Yes, if time permits. I have to go now as I need to close this deal today."-Kate reasonably says.

Kate hangs up the phone without saying goodbye to Migs. "It's mind-boggling. Why does he need to call me and ask where I am?" She asks herself. Then she goes back to business to close the deal.

Migs patiently waited for Kate to come back to the office after her presentation. He is in his executive chair, two feet on his table, while playing with his phone. Migs is a boss and can leave the office anytime he wants to. However, he feels that seeing Kate is what matters to him.

After a few hours of waiting, he saw a tall, skinny refined lady entering the office. She wears simple makeup on her face with her hair neatly tied. She was wearing a mini red dress paired with a red stiletto that made her stand out more.

"Did you bring home the bacon?"- asks Migs while standing on his office door. He wears dark blue, half-folded long sleeves paired with black jeans and black leather shoes.

"Don't you have confidence in me?"- Kate jokingly answers Migs.

Migs is known to be charming. Aside from being good-looking, he is a supportive boss that everyone loves. But he never treated anyone like what he did to Kate.

"Kate, are you ready for lunch?" Migs asks as he stands one meter apart from Kate.

"I will be ready in five minutes. But, first, I'll have to submit all the proposals to Ms. A for review." Kate replies.

"OK, I will just stay here and wait for you," Migs says.

Kate is now becoming comfortable being with Migs. He is always there, ready to extend a hand whenever Kate needs him, especially for work-related concerns.

"Thank you, Migs,"- Kate whispers while the two are having their lunch.

"Thank you, for what?"- Migs asks.

"You make my job easier, and that is because of your support," Kate says while staring at Migs' eyes.

"Anything for you, Kate,"- Migs answers.

Kate is the youngest and the breadwinner of the family. So before she started working, she expected that working could change their life. Kate believed that what you achieve is a measurement of happiness. So she just wanted to be happy that she was doing everything to get that.

Migs grew up in a prominent family. He has a happy family and is in the middle of 3 siblings.

He is a well-mannered guy, educated, and thinks nothing but himself.

One Friday afternoon, Migs went to Kate to say something. She seats on the table near to her.

"I will be having dinner with friends tonight. Can you join us"? Migs openly asks Kate.

"Why should I be joining you?" Kate answers, who is shocked by invitation. "I'm not used to being with elite guys like you. I don't think I am the right one for that invitation." Kate continues.

The facial expression of Migs changed. "OK, I just thought that you may need an outlet to breathe after a toxic week we had. I'm going, have a great weekend ahead". Then Migs left.

While Kate was on the bus going home, the invitation of Migs kept running on her mind. "Why do Migs need to do all those things?" "Maybe that's his nature. He loves to invite girls to go out because he is rich. That was his second dinner invitation to me."-kate says to herself. "But yes, he's fantastic that everyone admires him. He is intelligent, and I don't think I belong to him". Migs is every girl's dream.

As time passes by, Migs and Kate's working relationship becomes more profound as they need to work closely on a project. Migs is the project head, and Kate ensures the smooth implementation of plans with the team. They have to talk frequently to make sure that everyone is on track. They have to align the team to ensure the achievement of the goal. That is how Migs leads.

"Kate and team, we will have a meeting tomorrow at 1 PM for your updates." Migs announces to the team before he leaves the office.

Kate needs to work overtime to finalize her report knowing how perfectionist Migs is regarding the details of the project.

Some employees are starting to notice the way Migs treats Kate. However, Kate never bothered about it because she sees Migs as a boss and colleague and nothing more than that. And because Kate works very well, people also don't make it a big deal. They are both professional in handling things at work.

Migs and Kate were successful in the implementation of plans for their project. And as it ended, it was also when Kate needed to submit her resignation letter because she had to accept a better offer from another company.

"Why do you need to leave?" Migs sadly asks Kate while driving his car. They came from a client meeting for their new project, and they decided to have dinner first before dropping off Kate at the bus station going home.

"I am grateful for this company, Migs, but I have dreams, and for me to get that, I need to take the risk." Kate firmly answers while she comfortably leans her head at the passenger seat.

"Kate, we've been working together for more than a year now, and I never stopped admiring you since day one." And, Migs admits to Kate. "Everday, I've been trying to enter into your life, but you had other priorities, and I understand that."-Migs continues with sadness in his eyes.

"You know what, Migs? You never knew how difficult it was to be strong every day so I could pretend that I do not see those efforts."- Kate says while tears are starting falling on her face.

"I love you, Kate. I know it is not proper to feel what I feel because we are workmates, and I should not be doing all of these, but I won't forgive myself If will keep it to myself." Migs pulled the car over, slowly grabbed Kate's hand, and gently kissed them.

Kate allows Migs to kiss her hands and leans her head to his chest. "I got betrayed by a man whom I loved before. I trusted him so much that I believed there is forever because of him. But I was wrong. He left when I needed him the most.". Kate narrates her past to Migs while her hands firmly hold Mig's hands.

"We will have one more month to be together, and we will see where this conversation brings us. I think I am starting to love you, Migs."-Kate reveals to Migs.

Migs is the happiest creature at that time. Knowing that Kate already let him be part of his life is everything to him. "I will never let you down, Kate. I will do my best to be worthy of you." Migs assures Kate.

They wanted to have a long time together, but they had to proceed to the restaurant where they would have dinner, and Kate also had to travel after.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, Migs went down first and proceeded to Kate's side to assist her.

"I will miss you, seriously," Migs says to Kate while walking towards his car.

"I will miss you, too; I cant wait to see you tomorrow at the office," Kate replies with the sweetest smile on her face showing her perfect white teeth and her pair of dimples.

Migs wakes up earlier than usual because he needs to fetch up Kate at the bus station not to walk anymore. He is inspired and excited to be with his lady in his best look.

"Good morning, gorgeous." Kate sweetly greets Migs. She was in her all-black OOTD. She wears a mini skirt flaunting her sexy long legs and crop-fitted blouse showing the shape of her body.

"Good morning too, pretty lady." smacking Kate on her cheeks.

They drove straight to the office to accomplish all the tasks at hand for that day. They are both have the most beautiful smile on their face. Happiness is evident to both of them.

The lovers have to enjoy the remaining days left together as Kate needs to go in 10 days. After that, Kate has to turn over her work to her successor and start having meetings with her future employers. She will be handling the marketing department of one of the biggest retail companies in the country.

Migs is living alone in his bachelor's pad. His pad is located in one of the high-end condominium properties in the metro where it is sound safe and secure. Additionally, it also has complete amenities including a gym where you can spend your free time to get fit. And no wonder that Migs is physically fit. His parents and two brothers live together, so he needs to bond with them every week. So he offers Kate to stay in his condo to save time traveling back and forth. And go home to visit her family every weekend.

One day, Kate decides to visit Migs' condo. It is a 100-sqm, 2-bedroom place, and his unit is protected with a smart door lock that only registered fingerprints can open the door. The unit is spacious and well ventilated which makes it cozy and clean and it is obvious that it is owned by a man. Huge paintings from well-known artists put color to the walls. One of their maids is assigned to take care of the area regularly. It is full of high-end appliances, and anyone who would stay there could live comfortably.

"Wow, you have a great place, Migs."-Kate utters while checking on the different areas of the condo. "You must be one of the luckiest guys on earth."-she continues. She enjoys her time being with the man, special to her heart.

"All of these can be yours, too."- Migs hugged Kate from behind. "I love you, and I would like to spend the rest of my life with you.,"-whispering to Kate.

Kate turns her back towards Migs and starts to kiss each other. Their love for each other comes out naturally. That would be the first time that Migs and Kate have had the chance to be together in a private place. And it seems that they are the only people in the world.

"Kate, I love you so much!"-Migs says while kissing Kate to the different parts of her body. After that, he continuously seduces Kate until she finally gives in.

"I love you too, Migs, but I am not sure if I am the right woman for you." She hesitantly replies while allowing Migs to play with her body.
