Chapter10- recruit more workers

At once, everyone looked at each other in shock. Truly, no one was to be trusted.
Delinda was the same woman who would gain sympathy by spreading outrageous lies against the owner of the company, claiming he couldn't pay up when he had authorized the payments of every worker but still, she refused to disburse it.
That was the height of it all as she lowered her head in shame. How on earth did this man know about everything?
At once, everyone that had secrets knew they wouldn't be spared of the ongoing crisis.
Still, they wouldn't stop pointing fingers at her.
“How dare you?”
“My daughter was sick. I begged you to speak with the CEO but you had the gut to buy a house with my money!”
“I needed money to fix my surgery but you spent it!”
“Enough, everyone!” Aiden cautioned as he looked at everyone who immediately kept their mouths shut.
“You're fired but before that, you will sell off that mansion within three days and pay up the amount you owe everyone else, you will face the law!”
He said sternly while the woman gasped in shock. How could she do that when she already invited everyone for housewarming this evening? Some even planned to stay in her house for a week because according to her, ‘there would be a lot to eat and drink!’
Now, she was doomed!
Immediately, she went on her knees.
“It's enough that you fired me already. Can we let it slide and…”
“It depends on what the people you owe have to say” Aiden said and looked at the rest of the employees who almost launched an attack on her.
“Pay us within three days else, you will face the law!” They also stated while she nodded her head. Going to jail was one of the worst things that could happen to her.
“Now, get out!” Aiden said immediately. Remembering what Maria went through earlier, she knew she couldn't stand the embarrassment. She hurriedly grabbed her bags and left.
Once again, the atmosphere became tense.
“Before we proceed” Aiden began while everyone exhaled out. They didn't know who was next. “I have on my record that eighty people were recruited and yet, we are thirty nine here. Where are the rest?”
He asked, looking at Ann..
“Sir, some of them are ghost workers who are only receiving allowance even when the real workers doesn't have hope of receiving”
“When is their exact payment!”
“On the record, it's set to be today”
“Really? The workers aren't earning money and ghost workers receive their money on a daily basis. Who set this silly law?”
He wondered in surprise as he looked at Ann.
“Disconnect every source of payment to them since it's the exact time they are being paid. They will definitely call before the end of the meeting!”
Sure enough, Aiden pointed at the second worker.
“Walker Bush…”
“Not fired”
At once, the man heaved a sigh of relief.
“Xavier Reindeer…”
“Not fired ..”
By the time Reed got to the next worker, the company's phone rang. Ann immediately brought forward the phone and placed it on speaker.
“Maria, what the hell is going on? Why haven't I received my payment?”
“It's Ann, her assistant speaking, sir”
“Where the hell is Maria? I've been trying to reach her. Is she trying to play games with us?” The man asked, furiously.
“Maria has been fired, sir”
“What?” The man screamed out that almost everyone fell off their seats in fear.
No one knew him except that he was a ghost worker.
“Is she trying to bring me down alongside her? Was that why she removed my name from the payroll? My salary is late by four minutes!”
“Mr T. Thompson? You will not be receiving money from the company anymore since you are not a worker. Maria did not orchestrate anything. I did”
Aiden chipped in.
For a while, there was nothing at the receiving end while everyone assumed he felt he had been caught.
“Who the hell are you, peasant?” They suddenly heard just as Ann was about to hang up.
“If you want to know who I am, rush down to the company. Maybe we can talk about how to retrieve the money you've been getting from us all these while!”
Aiden said and continued,
“Oh. I forgot to mention that whether you show up or not, you will receive a lawsuit that state that you are a thief and you will have to return every penny you been collecting from us for the past one year! Now, hang up, Ann!”
“What? Do you know who I am? I…”
“That's very good of you. Next worker…”
Within a few minutes, ten workers were fired for misconduct while the rest were retained.
“Moving forward, our income will be increased by 10% and every payment that has been due will be paid today.”
What? Everyone thought as smile flashed across their faces. They couldn't believe that there would be a great turnaround since he started off as being strict.
“Ann would be working on auditing and later on, I'll appoint someone in charge of that section. We'll be accepting more workers strictly based on their work experience.”
“The next meeting will be based on the products we have successfully sold since the begining of the year including the products we created in the laboratory. Who is the laboratory head?”
A young lady stood up.
“Work on new products based on naturals and we'll kick it off from there.”
“Thank you, sir. I'll also like it if more workers are sent to us as soon as possible. We have a lot to do in the lab. Besides, we have limited resources”
“We'll work on that also.”
“Who's in charge of advertisment?”
Another man stood up.
“Let it be known on our website plus every other places that we are recruiting and each department should send to me vacant positions available. We can take off from there! End of the meeting!”
Aiden said and walked out of the conference room. He couldn't believe that he had successfully built an establishment he had always admired..
