The sun blazed overhead as the school courtyard buzzed with students during the free break. Owen Menendez leaned against a graffiti-covered wall, surrounded by his entourage of cool and popular friends. Bianca's heart raced as she watched from a distance, trying to seem casual while keeping her gaze fixed on him. Her mind was consumed by thoughts of the superpowers she was convinced he was hiding.
Jennie nudged Bianca with an amused grin. "You're staring again, B. What's got you so captivated?"
Bianca tore her eyes away and tried to sound nonchalant. "Nothing, just people-watching."
But her attention was quickly drawn back to Owen. His friends were chatting and laughing, but suddenly, a burst of water seemed to shoot out from the ground, soaking one of his friends from head to toe. The group's laughter turned to shock, and even Owen seemed surprised.
"Did you see that?!" Cherry exclaimed, her eyes wide.
Bianca's heart raced as her suspicions deepened. "I did! It's like he controlled the water or something."
Jennie arched an eyebrow. "Come on, B. You can't seriously believe he has superpowers."
Bianca bit her lip, torn between doubt and excitement. "I know it sounds crazy, but there's something about him that just doesn't add up. I've seen him do other weird things too."
Cherry rolled her eyes playfully. "Okay, detective. Let's say he does have powers. What's the plan?"
Bianca grinned mischievously. "I'm going to find a way to catch him in the act, without him knowing."

Owen Menendez leaned over his desk, engrossed in something he didn't want anyone else to see. The faint glow of a peculiar gadget illuminated his face, his eyes fixated on whatever he was working on. Just as he was about to make a crucial adjustment, the creak of his bedroom door pierced the air, causing his heart to skip a beat.
He swiftly moved to cover his work with a pile of clothes, attempting to look casual as Bianca Roosevelt strolled into his room. His dark eyes met her ocean blue ones, a hint of surprise flickering across his features. "Hey, how'd you get in here?"
Bianca flashed a mischievous grin, her arms loaded with textbooks. "Your mom let me in. She's super sweet, by the way."
Owen relaxed slightly, leaning back against his desk. "Yeah, she's a softie. What brings you here?"
Bianca shrugged, her gaze drifting around the room. "Just thought we could work on the math project. You know, finally get it started."
"Right, the math project," Owen mumbled, his mind still racing to hide any lingering evidence of his secret endeavor.
Bianca raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by his distracted demeanor. "You okay there, Owen? You seem a bit off."
He cleared his throat, offering her a sheepish smile. "Yeah, just lost in thought for a moment. Math project sounds good. Let's get started."
Bianca eyed him suspiciously but decided to let it go for now. She settled herself at his desk, her books spread out before her. Owen joined her, his mind divided between the project and the hidden contraption beneath the pile of clothes.
As they began discussing the math project, Bianca's curiosity got the best of her. "So, Owen, what were you up to before I came in? You seemed pretty focused on something."
Owen's heart raced as he tried to come up with a convincing response. "Oh, you know, just cleaning up a bit. My room gets messy sometimes."
Bianca raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Cleaning up, huh? With that pile of clothes?"
He chuckled nervously, racking his brain for a better explanation. "Yeah, well, I was organizing them by color. It's a new system I'm trying out."
Bianca burst into laughter, unable to contain her amusement. "Color-coded clothes organizing? Really, Owen?"
He shrugged, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "Hey, I'm all about efficiency."
Bianca shook her head, her laughter fading as she locked eyes with him. "Okay, spill it. What are you really hiding?"
Owen's heart raced, his mind racing to come up with a plausible story. "Honestly, Bianca, it's nothing. Just some personal stuff I'm working on. You know, hobbies and all that."
Bianca's gaze bore into his, a mixture of suspicion and curiosity in her eyes. "Hobbies, huh? Well, if you ever feel like sharing, I'm a pretty good secret keeper."
Owen chuckled, feeling a mixture of relief and apprehension. "I'll keep that in mind."
As they returned their attention to the math project, Owen couldn't shake the feeling that Bianca wasn't entirely convinced. He knew he had to be more careful, especially if he wanted to keep his secret safe.
