Prologue
Daniel couldn’t concentrate on the work he was doing. He stood up and paced the room. He must have been mistaken.
He had to be.
He sat down back and shook his head in denial. There is no way the girl tied up in his basement could be his mate.
He knew who she was and he believes she also knew who he was because of the way she had stared at him. Those eyes had been filled with immerse hatred just like it had the last time he had seen her.
He had instantly recognized her by the color of her hair and those eyes. Her rich strawberry blond wavy hair with the captivating sea-green eyes. That combination could only be from one person, Maxwell’s daughter.
She was a very long way from home. What had she been doing in their border hiding in his territory?
She knew the rules, after all she is the daughter of the one who had set them in the first place.
The crescent moon pack and the blood moon pack could never be found in each other territories. The punishment for the disobedience of that was death on site.
He had modified the rules a little for his pack when he had taken over as the pack alpha. Anyone caught was to be tortured for information. They could have been spies and would not have come alone.
He stood up and began to pace again.
His beta Vincent had taken their best trackers to scout the area for more intruders. He was yet to believe she came here alone. The last time he had seen her had been that night, ten years ago when he had spared her life and had only killed her brother in retaliation for his father’s death.
Even though they were enemies, Daniel had one rule. He doesn’t hurt children no matter who or what. The girl had been about ten then and even though young, she had possessed more fighting spirit than her elder brother. He had wished she was the one he had to fight then not the weakling he had taken down in the second attempt.
He had been very angry after killing him. The bastard had been incapable of protecting his little sister something Daniel could never do.
She had come at him then. A werewolf girl who was yet to meet her wolf and attain full power had challenged a full-grown alpha warrior. He had been amazed and intrigued at the same time so instead of keeping her prisoner like he should have done; he had let the girl go. Her courage had earned her, her freedom though it had caused him a drift with his sister who had insisted she was the spurn of the enemy and should have been treated as such. She was still yet to forgive him after all these years and made sure she showed her hatred in diverse ways.
If she knew the girl is in his basement, she would set the house ablaze if it’s the only way to kill her.
He has to make sure only those who have the knowledge of her present be the only ones to know for now.
There was a knock on the door and he gave the permission for the person to enter. Vincent opened the door and let himself in and he was alone.
Daniel went to his seat and sat down.
‘Let me get the report of the scouting,’ Daniel inquired
‘The trackers were not able to get anything on any other intruder. Her scent was the only one they could trace.’
‘Then we will have to get the answers we want from her. How many people know about her presence here?’ Daniel asked.
‘You, myself, five of the trackers and the two border patrol men that found her.’
‘Make sure they are the only ones that know about her. No one else should be aware of the presence of our prisoner. It’s an order from their alpha and anyone who disobeys will have to answer to me.’
‘Yes alpha.’
‘Let’s go pay the prisoner a visit Daniel said and stood up from his seat. She has been comfortable for too long.’
