BLAZE WAS IN HIS SHOP, and the owner was there, too.
Dammit!
Shawna stood at the shop window, and flared her magic, hoping to draw Blaze’s attention. She was most comfortable with weather magic—it was the magic she used when she needed to steal food. At first, just a flurry of leaves. Then a stronger wind. When Blaze still didn’t notice, she closed her eyes and focused on her power.
She summoned a small cloud, and made it rain against the shop window, bouncing out of the way so she didn’t get drenched.
Shawna waited around the corner, hoping it was enough. Anything more and the owner would know something was up and Shawna didn’t want to get Blaze in trouble.
A short while later, Blaze arrived.
“What are you doing here?” he asked. “I can get in big trouble for this.”
