SHAWNA MADE IT ALL the way to her shelter before she gave in to the panic and began shaking and trembling. She’d always had magic and when she was younger, her father had employed someone to teach her how to use it. But that had been a long time ago, and she hadn’t been powerful enough to do anything serious since then.
Not like what had just happened at the house.
The worst part had been her lack of control. That terrified her. She’d never been in a situation where she lost all control, and her power had never been so strong that she caused such damage.
She thought about the dress, and her heart sank, fresh tears fell from her eyes. She covered her face and let her emotions pour out, allowing herself a moment to fall apart.
