Chapter 01
Alexi
Tomorrow is my first day at the school I transferred to. Not only that but, it happens to be my last year of High School.. Go Bears.. Yay (Note the sarcasim). I am nervous but, being nervous never helped so I am sure when I go tomorrow I will feel better.
My brother Jared(I call him Jay and he calls me Lex or Kid) and I moved here just after Christmas last year. He got a job offer that was to good for him to turn down, and obviously I was not going to stay behind in a town I hated.
Jay has been working on motorbikes since he was sixteen, the guy has mad skills. He did his High School courses on line and passed top of his class. I'm telling you the guy is a genius. So when he got the offer for more pay and benefits at this new shop we were all in.
He has been looking after me since I was fifteen, he was eighteen at the time. Mom died at an accident scene, she was assisting paramedics with stabilizing the victim's of a head on collision when another vehicle slammed into them. Killing my mom and the other paramedic she was assisting instantly. She was a great nurse and never turned down the opportunity to help those in need even if she was not on call.
That Sperm Donor of ours left right after moms funeral. I guess not right after he, still did four things
1. Stopped to pack his bag
2. Tell us he was moving in with the other family he had across the country.
3. Emptied all the joint banking accounts mom and him had.
4. Signed guardianship of me to Jay. (Jay had the papers waiting.)
Never really got along with that pr*ck anyway. He was always abusive towards our mom when he was there. She was the kindest, sweetest and most loving person she didn't deserve that treatment. If he wasn't shouting and verbally abusing her, he would get physical with her. When Jay got older and bigger things went a little better, Jay would step in, it got physical once to. The Sperm Donor went on more "Business Trips" dont think he liked how Jay protected mom and he couldn't beat Jay. Both Jay and I were so tired of seeing how my mom had to cover her black eyes, bruises and split lips.. He broke her ribs once to. Good riddance to rubbish I say.
Needless to say from age twelve Jay made me take self defence, kick boxing and martial arts. He didn't want me ending up like mom unable to defend myself. Also made sure I understood if I was getting assaulted physically or verbally that I had to tell him.
Jay and I have always been close but, when mom passed away and Sperm Donor head for the hills we became even closer. We promised to always be honest, not to keep secrets and always protect eachother.
The town we moved to was small but, very beautiful. The houses just had this cosy homely feel to them. Obviously there is the richer area that was gated off but then again I've never really been interested in monetary things or wealth. Mom taught Jay and I from small that a person's wealth go at a moment's notice and beauty was only skin deep. Real wealth and beauty came from kind and real the person was so we never really envied the rich or the beautiful.
