What would you do if you were surrounded by people who hurt you? Who could hurt you at any moment and nobody would help you?

How would you feel if you found your mate, the one who you were born to love till you die, but you find that they have been hurt and broken? Would you turn away and give up, saying they are beyond repair? Or would you fight, would you make them see they are safe with you?

Come along on as we find some answers to these questions. As we watch Rose and Jack try and make it through and repair what has been broken.

CH.1 Rose
“Who are you?” He asked, his sky blue gaze was hard daring me to not answer. Out of all the places he could eat he had to choose this dinner. I don’t know why this had to happen to me. I was only an hour into my shift and already was caught in the eyes of the next Alpha, Jack. The only thing keeping him from challenging our Alpha and taking his place would be his mate. That he still has not found. Normally on our eighteenth birthday everyone gathers. Even some close packs come if the birthday was of someone with rank. That is when we find our mates. Last night was Jack’s, but he was not as lucky. I’m an Omega, the lowest of the low in the pack hierarchy, so I wasn’t invited to the party. But you wouldn’t need to be there to find out that the son of your Alpha did not find his mate. Does it faze me not to be invited to things? No, I’m used to it, I’m used to a lot of things. If there is anything I have learned in my seventeen years of life. Is that only to surround yourself with people you can trust. The rest can stay as far away from me as possible. “My name is Rose, Alpha Jack” I said in the best confident voice I could manage while keeping my eyes casted down. I could smell the alcohol coming off of him. It burned the back of my throat and I wanted nothing more than to leave. Jack had come in with a group of friends. They had all moved straight for one of the long tables towards the back, but not Jack. As soon as he came in he came straight to the counter.  With the knuckle of his pointer finger under my chin he tipped my head up. It took everything I had not to pull away from the small touch. Thank heavens I had just enough cover up to hide what my face truly looked like after last night’s run in. Now I just looked like a slut with too much make up. Even though we were at eye level I made sure to look past him at the far wall. “Please look at me.” His voice was smooth with want.  “I am sorry Alpha but I do not wish to challenge you, or offended you in any way sir. I wish to get back to my job.” I told him, praying that I didn’t piss him off. I had nothing to cover fresh bruises. Just as he was about to reply one of the girls in his group called out. “Oh Dozer are you going to come take our order or not?” I looked there as all three girls shared the same look I have come to know and dread.  “Rose do you want me to take their table?” My coworker and closest thing I have to a best friend, Sam asked with a sad look.  I held my head high trying to hide the dread I felt. I looked at her and said. “No that’s okay Sammy I got it. They are in my section after all.” She gave me an apologetic look and nodded. I made my way to their table with Jack following me. Jack took the chair next to his Beta Ryan. The three boys sat on one side of the table while the three girls on the other side. I recognized the girls from school. I kept my eyes down towards my notepad as I asked. “What can I get everyone today?” Everyone already had a glass of water thanks to Sammy. I got the three guys ordered with no issues. As I moved onto the girls, the girl closets to me dropped her bag onto the floor.  “Oops, pick it up Omega.” She snarled. As I was bent down picking up her things. She poured her water over my head. The girls erupted into laughter. I didn’t look at anyone as I waited for Sammy to bring me a towel. I did however feel immense anger coming from someone. Before I could take the towel. The girl smashed her four inch heel into my knee. Causing me to fall backwards. Lucky for me Jack and Sammy caught me before I could hit the ground.  “That's enough!” Jack roared and the girls fell silent instantly. I straightened myself from both their holds refusing to show any pain. Feeling my makeup washing off I knew soon everyone would see what I was trying to hide. “You are lucky that we are in public, but just you wait until we get back to the pack.” Jack growled out venomously at the girl.  Looking straight ahead focusing on nobody but the wall I explained. “Alpha it is okay. It was my fault I was in the way.” Out of the corner of my eye I saw Jack’s shocked expression.  “Rosie dear why don’t you go get your self cleaned up I will finish taking their order.” Sammy said sweetly. She out ranked me at work so I nodded my head, and gave her my notepad. Once inside the bathroom I looked at myself in the mirror. Saying I looked like crap would be putting things nicely. My red hair was dripping. I had watermarks running through my makeup, and my knee was already black and blue. Wetting a paper towel I carefully wiped away the remaining makeup. My black eye was profound and from one side of my jaw to the other was nothing but a bruise.  I was on a run last night trying to tire myself out so I could sleep. When a few of my drunken pack members jumped me. I had bought myself some time when I fought back. Just as I was about to black out and let them do what they wanted a warrior on patrol came by. The men left me in the bushes. I was able to just barely make it through my front door before I collapsed. Due to me sleeping on the floor inside my front door. I was running late today and now this. Perfect just like the rest of my life.  Taking a deep breath I pulled myself together and walked out of the bathroom. As I made my way to the counter I noticed nobody was at the table anymore. Releaf washed through me. That was too soon because as I rounded the last table to the counter there were the three boys. They were sitting at the counter chatting with Sam. As I made my way behind the counter to Sam I kept my face hidden the best I could. I told Sam that I was going to head out back for a minute since we were dead. Just as I made it through the back door. I heard a loud ‘BANG.’ Like someone hit the counter. I didn’t look back; I just let the door fall shut behind me. I had just taken my first puff when the back door flew open. It was Jack and he was moving fast towards me. I tried to turn my back to him so that he wouldn't see my face but Jack wasn’t having it today. He spun me around by my arm and held me against the drik wall of the restaurant. As he gently cupped my face I watched as the anger that was burning inside soon simmer down to sorrow. “Who did this to you?” He asked through clenched teeth. Now he was back to being mad. I couldn’t tell him the truth, it would only make it worse. It always makes it worse.  “It’s, it’s just from training.” I could usually tell a lie like it was true, but I have never had to lie about this much. I was pretty good at keeping it covered or sticking to the shadows so that nobody saw me at all.  “Female Omega’s don’t train. Stop lying to me!” Even though he kept his voice low and even I could tell he was getting angrier. What right did he have to be this angry?  “Why do you care so much? I told you what happened now either punish me for breaking the rules or leave me alone.” The key to passing any lie is to believe it is the truth. Even if the lie was called out. Stick to your story and people will leave you alone. I pushed Jack away as I pushed off the wall. I took a long drag from my cigarette. Letting the nicotine spread through my body.  “Just give me names and I’ll take care of them.” He assured me, causing me to scoff in his face.  “If that were true you wouldn’t have a pack left to lead.” I whispered but I knew he heard me. His eyes got huge and he sucked in a shallow breath. He was about to say something but I cut him off. “Why do you care all of a sudden? You haven’t acknowledged my existence in over ten years! Why start now?” I shouted at him. There was a time when we were very young we were friends, but those days are gone.  “Because you are my mate damn it. Now give me the names of who did this to you. So I can put their heads on spikes.” He roared back at me.
