After I calm down Jack and I move so that he is behind me on the bed. With me between his legs and using his check as a backrest. Jack pulls out his phone and brings up Netflix. Scrolling through all the titles Jack let me pick what we watched. Laughing at me when I pick the show Friends. When I asked what was so funny. He just laughed and said that from all the titles I picked one of the oldest ones. I didn’t care you could never go wrong with a classic. A few episodes in and Lulu came down. Bring us food and to make sure we didn’t need anything. I always felt bad when she would bring me food knowing I wasn’t going to hardly touch it. When Lulu left Jack had asked if I wanted a protein shake. I eagerly nodded then stopped when he told me I had to at least take three whole bits of the actual food. Even with my best puppy dog eyes I couldn’t get out of it.
Ten minutes, and three whole bites, later Ryan our future Beta came in escorted by Doc. When Ryan entered I felt as though I was too exposed. I quickly covered myself up to my chin with the blanket, and nuzzled myself into Jack’s chest. “It’s okay baby Ryan won’t hurt you. Look he brought you a shake.” That’s when I noticed the bottle in his hand. He held it out to me with a soft smile. I hesitantly took it whispering a thank you.
“I was told that your favorite was strawberry and banana.” Ryan states as he sits in the chair next to my bed. I nodded, keeping my eyes down still unsure of him. No he has never hurt me, but there is always a first time. It helped that Doc and Jack were in the room with me. “Mine too. This one is something I use after a fight or a rough day training. The days I get banged up good. This one is focused towards your healing that your overall body. I looked skeptically between the drink and Ryan before looking up to Jack. It wouldn’t be the first time someone put something in my drink. I knew I was probably being over paranoid but who would blame me? Especially now I have this strong man saying sweet things to me and making me feel different. Excuse me about being cautions on when the other boot is going to drop. Without a word Jack grabbed the drink and took a big gulp. Then handed it back to me with a smile.
“See princess nothing to be wary about.” I took it back greadly chucking two big gulps, before Jack stopped me. “Remember what I told you. Drink slowly, you don’t need a stomach ache.” I nodded before settling back against his chest. Doc checked my vitals while the boys talked about school. Before Doc left he reminded me that I had an hour and a half left, before I needed to go to the cell. Once Doc left I listened to what the boys were talking about.
“Her parents are throwing a fit, but she was caught red handed. There is nothing they can do, nor say, that will change that. There is no getting out of your dad’s ruling.” I tensed when I understood what they were talking about, or rather who. Trinity.
Jack noticed my stiffness and wrapped me tightly in his arms. “Hey she not going to get you ever again.” He reassured me.
“What’s happening to her?” I almost didn’t want to know.
“Alpha has ordered her to be thrown out.” Ryan explained while Jack tried to get me to relax again.
“I would have headed her.” Jack growls darkly more to himself. I didn’t know how that made me feel. Fighting violence with violence, or that I was cared for so much. Someone would kill for my justice.
“I can’t disagree with you on that one.” Ryan says relaxing more into the chair.
We were silent for a moment before Jack spoke. “I want Rose to be with someone at all times from now on. I don’t care if I have to assign her a guard to follow her around.” I jumped at the mention of the guards. Some many memories thinking I was safe. Thinking that they would protect me. Some of them did in one way or the other. Then there were the ones who would be worse than what I was trying to get away from. Ryan jumped from the chair in alarm while Jack looked at me worriedly.
“No, no guards.” My voice was solid and more stern than how I was feeling at that moment.
“Why? What happened?” Alex asked, but before I could answer a shooting pain hit my head. I screamed out just as Doc and Lulu came in.
“Cell now” Doc ordered. Jack carried me bridal style to the cell. Placing me gently onto the metal cot that was bolted to the wall. I instantly rolled to the floor in pain. Jack was still standing there in the cell with me when my bones began to crack. Before my shifts never hurt this much. Since I lost the connection with my wolf shifting is excruciating, and long.
Jack needed to get out before Sonya came and took over. He needed to be safe before I lost control of the murderous beast inside of me. “Get out!” I yelled to him, but he still just stood there watching. The look in his eyes cut through all the pain. In his eyes I saw the hurt he felt for me. the love he had for me to want to take it all away. I saw everything I ever wanted right there in those beautiful blue eyes. He was running out of time. I could feel it. Doc and Ryan both had to come in and drag him out. He didn’t want to leave me alone. I knew then that he wasn’t playing a joke on me. I knew that what he told me was true. We are mates. “Lock the door!” It was getting harder to talk. I didn’t scream any more. I was trying to hold on for as long as it took till I knew they were all safe. The shift was coming to its peak. There was more pain as everyone of my bones break and reform to my wolf form. Even then I didn’t scream. I couldn’t let them hear the pain I was in. Just like all the beating I have taken I kept my mouth closed. I never let them have the satisfaction of hearing the pain they were causing me. Now I didn’t want them to hear because they weren’t the ones causing the pain. When I looked to Jack's eyes I knew I couldn’t do that to him. It was bad enough that he was standing there watching me. Doc and Ryan both have to hang onto him to keep him from the door. Doc and Lulu have seen what my wolf can do.
They were there that night that I attacked Johnny. They saw him on the ground bleeding to death. My vision was getting spotty now and I knew I only had a few breaths left. Taking one last look to my mate I wished I didn’t have to be this way. Then like falling asleep everything went black.
