CHAPTER 45

“Excuse me, I’ll just go to the washroom.” I excused myself and stood up, everyone’s eyes followed me as they watched me stand up, including Viel who just kept silent and didn’t bother to answer any questions just like earlier.

I saw how Bella raised her brows at me, but because I’m Karina Tyson, I won’t just let her do that without returning her that too.

“Do you want me to go with you, KC?” Crisha asked while looking at me.

I shook my head and slightly yawned, I heard Simon chuckle.

“Oh, the beautiful birthday girl is already sleepy huh?” Simon mumbled while staring at me, Shawn’s eyes were following me too.

I pursed my lips and pouted at them, I’m a bit sleepy, yeah. Unlike them who look so alive.

I glance at Viel first before I turned my back on them. He didn’t say anything, he just glance at me and took a sip of his wine, while the others were back talking about random things.

I was making my way, and I noticed how busy my guests are, with murmurs and such. I shook my head when I yawned once again and my eyes were now teary because of drowsiness. I looked down and opened the door, I yawned one more time and was about to proceed back to our table when I bump into something hard, that I almost lose my balance, good thing a strong pair of arms helped me not to fall through holding my both arms. The way his firm arms hold me is like telling me how strong it is and so good to feel.

I shook my head while still looking down ‘cause it feels like my head was too heavy and drowsy to lift it, I’m probably so sleepy and oh, maybe it was his chest I bumped a while ago.

“Sleepy, huh?” A deep baritone voice that is very familiar to me suddenly asked.

I immediately looked up and I was right! It was Viel!... What is he doing here? I didn’t expect that he’ll follow. I bit my lower lip.

‘Don’t be so assuming Karina Cassidy!... he’s probably going to use the bathroom and it’s not for you!’

My inner voice Interrupted.

“Careful,” Viel said in a husk…it sounds so good!

“Why you’re here?” I asked. We were still standing in front of the bathroom door…

“Are you going to---” He cut me off with another question.

“Are you sleepy?’’ He asked almost expressionless.

He doesn’t know how it matters for me whenever he asks simple things and so casually, just like this one.

I bit my lip at the sudden unequal beats of my heart as if it’ll going crazy right now. And this guy who has enchanting heterochromia eyes with a top-knot bun is the culprit.

“Y-yeah…” I answered weakly and felt a bit disappointed when he finally let go of my arms which my system contradicts, it’s like it wants to be caged in his arms forever…

“Hmm…’’ He simply mumbled and turned his back on me while he was going in another direction, it’s not the way back to our table, where is he going? I looked at his broad back confusingly.

After a while, his thick brows almost met when he turned to look back at me, giving me a bored look, and raised his thick brows at me in a very manly way…

“What are you still doing there,” He asked boredly while he bore his lazy stares at me.

My forehead knotted because I don’t get him.

“Standing“I simply answered and looked at him. He just steps away from me and I could see how his expression changes every time, just like now. He was frowning while looking in my direction as if he was running out of patience.

“Karina,” He warned and lick his lower lips while his forehead furrowed and he’s now throwing me a sharp glare. What the hell does he want me to do?!

I frowned and crossed my arms while giving him a smug look, Let’s test that patience of yours once again, Mr. frosty and hottie man at the same time.

‘’Yes, Engineer?” I asked very softly and stare at him like he was the only thing I see right now. Well, yeah…

We’re alone here, and having a conversation with him right now, day on my birthday is just something I love things had happened on my birthday.

I almost let out a heartily laugh when I saw how his lips turned into a grime line, what a short-tempered man.

“What the,” He groaned and gave me a threatening look…

I was smiling widely in my mind, I know actually what he wants, of course, He wants me to follow him and that excites me so much, to sneak out for a moment with him is just so exciting!

But let’s not forget that we’re still testing this dangerously handsome’s patience right now.

“f**k…” I continued his words and that’s when his patience ripped as he walked toward me again with big steps like he really wants to e in front of me in one snap.

My eyes widens as a saw his heavy presence going near… I was about to step back but it was too late when he grabs my arms tightly but not enough to hurt me.

My wide-eyed gaze settled on his enchanting different color orbs as they stared at me, piercing my soul and making my heart flatters… It’s so fuckin’ amazing.

My breath hitched when he was now too close yet he was showing nothing but seriousness in his eyes, The few strands of his dirty blonde hair touching his forehead added more of his hotness and is so appealing.

His long fingers touched my skin and lift it to level my gaze on his.

And a moment after, he closed his eyes tightly and opened them just to welcome me that it was now filled with amusement while looking at me.

I was stunned and just staring at him adorably.

His lips suddenly twitched for a smirk while he’s still not yet taking his touch off my chin.

“I don’t know what to do to you, you Brat!” He growled weakly and shook his head as if he was defeated once again by me.
