THEY KEEP HAVING CONVERSATIONS — about their relationship and their future and the shape of it all — in the rare moments they’re both home and awake. Alex finally works his way around to telling Paul how Zach is leaving Fourth. Somehow that turns into a conversation about how long they’re actually going to do this repair work and how to decide when it’s time to pull the plug on the whole thing. They don’t reach any conclusions, but it’s another conversation they’re going to need to keep having. At least until the day that Alex wakes up and decides he wants the relationship to be over much the way he randomly decided he wanted Zach to be dead.
