part I - just friends
chapter 1 On the first day of high school back from the summer break and the hallways were stormed through high school students in each grade. The freshman class looking lost, asking around to where the classes are, Sophomores in their small groups, Juniors, and Seniors hanging around in the courtyard, taking their precious time as the day begins for the new school year. Chelsea stood there with a cup of coffee right in her hand standing next to her best friend, Phoebe. Chelsea's new locks were laid on the side as she was looking at the reflection of herself through her phone. She smiled at herself; brown skin - brown eyes - with a beautiful smile that lights up the room; she doesn't know how beautiful she is. Phoebe tossed her breakfast by the trashcan next to her. Her long brown hair whipped across her face when she came back standing next to Chelsea. It was a windy day today which was a bit odd for the weather here in Naples, Florida. Phoebe and Chelsea have been long-time friends since the third grade, along with her brother, Theo. Their moms know of each other from connections through friends and since then they became very close. Chelsea spends time with Phoebe the most since they are both girls, obviously, but they have a lot in common. The same music tastes, clothing, celebrity crushes, and their own future and what they want to be. But one thing that they both disagree on is their relationship with Theo. Theo is Chelsea's older brother. The typical 'tall-dark-and-handsome' trope is true when real when it comes to him. Chelsea sees him as a knight-shining- armor, someone who is smart but also can be mysterious. But, Phoebe sees him as just an annoying spoiled brat. Which is no to blame, their siblings, they get each other's nerve twenty-four seven so it's pretty often to see that. ''Five more minutes until I go to Mr.Pierre's class,'' Chelsea said to Phoebe. ''French during the first hour is a blessing at least you don't have to go to Chemistry, just thinking about it or even saying it out loud makes me want to throw up.'' Chelsea let out a chuckle. ''Yeah, that's true.'' ''What do you want to do after school?'' Phoebe asked while adjusting her backpack. ''Hmm, we can go to my place, and watch--'' ''Greys Anatomy?!" They said collectively. ''Hmm, okay, we can do that, but you promise you can stay for dinner?'' Phoebe adds. Chelsea grunts and Phoebe waits for an answer. That would mean she will have to deal with Theo. Yes, it's a good thing but at the same time, it's not. It's super confusing for Chelsea when it comes to her own emotions with Theo. She's not one hundred percent sure if he feels the same way as her. Chelsea doesn't want to put up another letdown from her own emotions. It's hard telling whether or not if a guy genuinely likes her, for her, you know? A group of jocks and cheerleaders were being too rowdy when the bell rang for the first hour. ''Sure, I would stay for dinner.'' ''Awesome, I would be by the parking lot right after school.'' ''See you there!'' Phoebe shouts as she walks up the stairs and went to her French class with Mr.Pierre. Walking in, she takes her seat by the window and pulls out her notebook with pencils. Writing down her name on the paper, Mr.Pierre begins to speak with a student ''I know how you behave, so I think you should sit there,'' he said to the student. Not knowing who was talking to, Chelsea ignored and took a glance again at her classes for the first semester. 1 - AP FRENCH 3 2 - ENGLISH 3 3 - AP CHEMISTRY 4 - PSYCHOLOGY 5- ART 3 -PAINTING & SCULPTURE LUNCH 6 - FREE PERIOD 7- AP US HISTORY ''Okay smarty pants,'' A deep voice breezed behind Chelsea causing her to get goosebumps behind her neck. She jolted and looked behind her realizing that it was Theo. His pink lips smirked from the side, devilishly, and stared into her brown eyes. His green eyes glowed from the rays of the sun. His graphic tee-shirt of Biggie was oversized and he lifts his hands showing a tattoo of a compass, brushing his jet black hair, and let out another smile. Damn his smile. Theo laughed. ''You alright? You look like you've seen a ghost.'' ''I'm fine, thanks.'' ''Positive?'' ''Yes, why?'' ''Just asking.''
