Chapter 23

Nationals champions makes the reputation of glee club become really good. Now it's time for facing the graduation that will be held in one week from now. I cant imagine that I will leave this choir room in few days and all those people. This choir room is a place where I can find love and many things. I laugh, cry, smile, sad, mad, and many things. And those people? They love me unconditionally especially someone. "You still look beautiful even for the second time I saw you with that dress." Sam smiles at me. I just smile shyly at him. Yes. He is the one who made my senior year become brighter than anyone here. In one week, I will move to New York and leave him. I dont want to leave him actually but I guess that we can keep doing the long distance relationship if it really meant for us. I know that neither Sam nor me we never want to break up. Now we are wearing our nationals costumes for the second times as we ready to give a surprise for Mr. Schue this time. We are standing in the auditorium backstage as the curtain lifts down and waiting for the announcement of the best teacher in McKinley. "And now the award you've all been waiting for, Teacher of the Year. To announce the winner, please welcome to the stage so-called Finchel." Principal Figgins says from the microphone. "Hi." Finn and Rachel walks in. "The 2012 William McKinley High School Teacher of the Year Award goes to Mr.Will Schuester!" Finn and Rachel says excitedly. "Yeaah!" Nathan suddenly yells happily and playing his drum. Applauding and cheering filling this room. Mr. Schue just sitting there and gasped. I bet that he doesnt believe that he won this. "Wait, just, uh before you come up to accept the award, we just wanted to say a few things." Finn says to Mr. Schue. "Uh Three years ago, I thought I had it all. I was the quarterback of the football team, I was dating the head cheerleader. And then I met you, Mr. Schue, and I realized everything I was missing. There's a lot of great teachers at this school, who teach their students a lot of important stuff, like how to drive and-and fractions but you teach your students how to dream. As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing more important than that." Finn says to Mr. Schue. "Mr. Schue when I first met you, I was just an annoying Jewish girl with two gay dads and a very big dream. Today I still have two dads, and I'm still Jewish, and I'm probably just as annoying, but I stand before you headed to New York City come hell or high water and, um, I can honestly say that I couldn't have done it without you, and I will carry you every step of the way, so Congratulations. Um no one deserves this more than you. We love you and this is for you." Rachel says to Mr. Schue. The curtains lifts up and then we are standing to make a line until the music begin and Mr. Schue is just smiling at us. Finn: I've paid my dues Time after time Puck come out from the left side and singing. Puck: I've done my sentence But committed no crime Santana come out from the right side and singing as she wive a hi to Mr. Schue. Santana: And bad mistakes I've made a few Rachel: I've had my share of sand kicked in my face But I've come through (New Directions: And we mean to go on and on and on and on) Finn: We are the champions my friends Rachel: And we'll keep on fightin' till the end Puck and Santana with New Directions: We are the champions We are the champions Rachel and Santana (with New Directions): No time for losers ('Cause we are the champions) Finn: Of the world Kurt left the line and walks to the front and singing. Kurt: I've taken my bows And my curtain calls You brought me fame and fortune And everything that goes with it I thank you all Quinn decided to join him with hold his waist and singing. Quinn: But it's been no bed of roses No pleasure cruise I just smiling and leave my line then join Quinn and Kurt then singing. Emily: I consider it a challenge before the whole human race And I ain't gonna lose (New Directions: And we mean to go on and on and on and on) Finn: We are the champions my friends Rachel: And we'll keep on fighting till the end Puck and Santana with New Directions: We are the champions We are the champions Rachel (with New Directions): No time for losers ('Cause we are the champions) Finn and Rachel: Of the world! (Puck: We are the champions my friends) Finn and Rachel pick up Mr. Schue from his seat to the stage then Mr. Schue hugs us one by one. Emily, Puck and Santana: And we'll keep on fighting till the end Emily, Puck, Rachel and Santana with New Directions: We are the champions We are the champions Rachel and Santana: No time for losers Rachel and Santana with New Directions: 'Cause we are the champions. Finn and Rachel with New Directions: Of the world! (New Directions: We are the champions of the world!) We ended up the song with full of cheering and applauding from the crowded audience. Mr. Schue is smiling atbus as he hold the plaque that we give to him. Yeah we are the champions and we will never win without his work hard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The kids's graduation gawn just arrived. The biggest and longest one is Finn's and the rest is Emily's and Kurt's." Mom says to us. I'm busy with marking my stuff that I will bring to New York and I left here so it wont confuse me and I can prepare it well. Finn is sitting down on a sofa which mom claimed that dad usually sit down there while holding us and watching tv shows. Yeah Finn and I already know that our father isnt die in army. He died because of drugs overdose. He went to rehab and he wanted to stop for Finn and I's sake but everything changed. He died when he was trying to get out. "Finn's gawn is twice bigger than yours, honey." Mom says to us. Finn and I just didnt say anything and look at the picture frame of dad that Finn's hold. "You know, you can have that thing if you want. It's probably the only thing that'll fit in your tiny little New York apartment, but it's yours to have." Mom says to us. "I decided to copy it then leave it here one and take the copy one and put it in my new room in my new apartment in New York so it will be green colour and blue colour." I said and stick that photos with sticky notes. "It's up to you, honey." Mom smiles at me and strokes my hair. "I can't help thinking I let him down, you know? I feel like I-I could have spent more time writing that letter to the Army, or I could have wrote 50 letters to the Army, or I could have started one of those letter-writing campaigns, like like they had for Friday Night Lights or something." Finn says to mom. "You did everything you could do. Your dad made his choices, and the Army has rules, and there's nothing you could have done about either one of those things." Mom says to Finn. "I can't help feeling like something's not right. I did a lot of research, trying to get that honorable discharge status, and-and he did a lot of really great things in Kuwait, you know? He pulled two soldiers out of a burning truck. He saved their lives. They have kids now my age. He's a hero. And how is becoming an actor how is that redemption for a man who did all that? Everything seems like it's fallen into place. Everything but him." Finn says to mom. "Guys, I love you both so much and your dad must be smiling right now looking at his handsome son and his beautiful daughter is growing up and they both will graduate in few days. They both will live in New York together and become a star like it used to be." Mom smiles at us. "If I could get a chance to join the army and become one of those army girls, I would do that. It's kinda cool, you know when you can safe someone's life and change it into your life. I cant imagine that if I could do that." I said to them. "You dont have a weapon." Finn chuckles. "I know that. It's just wondering. I know about the kids you've been talk about. She cant stop thank me about what dad has done to her father. At first I didnt know about her. She just suddenly gave me a chocolate candy on valentines day and then she said that I gave her a date but when I found out that I didnt know her before so...." I said to them. "One lesson that dont lie to Emily because she can read your mind so well." Mom giggles. "You dont want give us any graduation present?" Finn asks. "I have one but I keep it until the right time." Mom grins at us. "Mom, you know that Finn and I will always trying to find what you hide until we get that?" I raise my eyebrows at mom. "I know that, honey." Mom chuckles. "So can you tell us what is that?" I raise my eyebrows. "Nope. Until you both get your diploma and officially graduate." Mom shake her head. "Mom, I'm graduating with B+." Finn says. "And I'm A+." I said proudly. "I know that guys. But your dad told me to keep that until you both officially graduate." Mom smiles at us. "Mom, if I cant make to be an actor, can I just join the army?" Finn suddenly asks. I turn my face at him and frown. "What?" "Finn, you dont get that?" Mom frowns at Finn. "I dont know. The letter hasnt coming yet. I'm just wondering about that. I know he died because of drug overdose and not even the army but look at those thing he made. He did a lot of good things and safe many people's life. I just wanna be like him and maybe I can change his dishonorable status by me." Finn says to us. "Yeah I even wanna petition the army thousand times and tell them that is not about how my dad died but it's about everything he has done for this country and our lives." I said. "Christopher, you can see that your kids is really grow up and you must be really proud of them right now." Mom snuffle and smiles at us. "Guys, I'm so proud of you. I cant imagine that you both could say this. How wise was that. I..I cant stop blaming myself when I have to hide about how he died because I know that you both have to know that and I cant believe that you both could be really wise like this. Just do whatever you both want to do. I dont want to hold you again because you have your own life now and graduate from high school which mean that you can choose your own future and dont ever blow up the college because college is the time when you both become adults." Mom says to us. "You never tell us about your college life." I smile at mom. "I finished college in five years. That was stupid actually. Because I have to get married and raise you both and that time no stuff called online study so I have to go to college then go back home and take care of you both or leave you both with Nana and aunt Annie when I have my assignments." Mom says to us. "Sometimes, I just wanna go back to Montreal and back to our old lives." I said to mom. "But this is the place where we belong. Lima, Ohio, USA. It's that place. If you guys want to visit Nana or aunt Annie in Montreal, we can visit them on thanksgiving days but we stay here no more go back to Canada." Mom says to us. "Because you must be have memory with that there." Finn says. "Yeah. You can take that picture if you want or any of your dad stuff in the storage room to make you both remember him." Mom says to us. "We will always remember him in our heart, mom." Finn smiles. "Yeah even he is live in me." I'm smiling. "Alright, go back to packing your stuff because I'm gonna prepare the dinner because Burt and Kurt must be already on the way to home." Mom smiles at us then walks off to the kitchen. "You take this with you. I will take his suit and wear it on my wedding." Finn says to me and give me that picture frame. "Thanks, Finn." I smile at Finn. Finn just smiles back at me. I look at that picture frame. A picture of dad wearing his army uniform with a big smile of his face and hold Finn and I together. Such a cute and even though I didnt know my father, I'm still adore him because he is like my hero in my life. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I mark the things that I will take from my locker and throw it to the trash by marking it with sticky notes. I will go to New York in few days and I will miss all those thing here. One thing that I dont want to leave is Sam. I dont know but I never want to leave him. "What's up, baby?" Sam suddenly standing next to my locker and grins at me. "Marking the stuff that I will take and bring it to New York or I wanna throw it to the trash." I smile at Sam and stick his forehead with a green paper. "What's different between green and blue?" Sam asks. "Green, I will bring it to New York and blue, I will throw it to the trash." I said to Sam. "Hold up, hold up, and what's mine? Wow green! I though you wanna throw me away to the trash." Sam giggles. "Of course not, Sam." I smile at him and hold his hand. "I will graduate soon and I will move to New York and I have to leave some of our stuff here but one thing that I dont wanna leave is you. I..I dont know but you brighter my senior year. You can make laugh so hard and I can make impression because you taught me." I'm snuffle. "I never been in this happy before but you are the gift from God as my graduation present and to be honest, everytime I went to chruch to pray, I always thank him for giving you in my life because you're an amazing guy. You, you make my dreams come true yeah even though at first I hate what you did but I might be able to enter Juilliard without you, Sam. So I want you to follow me to New York after you graduate so we can live together and write our own future together." I smile at Sam. "You dont want to say you wanna break up with me right? Because I dont want to. If you wanna break up with me, I swear, I will never let your hand go, and I will follow you wherever you'll go and whisper to your ear that I dont wanna break up with you." Sam says to me. "You think that we can make the long distance relationship?" I raise my eyebrows. "We can! Baby, we've been through with all of those fake dating thing and like you usually said that we made our own romance that nobody else has. Emily, you're the one and my only one. I cant be more proud when I have to tell the world that Emily Hudson is mine. We can get through this. There is a lot of technology and we can skype even though I dont know how to use that but we can do that." Sam smiles at me. "You're the best thing in my life." I smile back at Sam. "And I guess, I have to stick this picture with a green sign." I said as I stick his photo in my locker with a green sticky notes. "You can throw it away if you want and I can give you another new one with my sexy topless body." Sam smirks at me. "Ewww I dont like that. I'd rather to have one with your cute face and your blonde justin bieber hair but hell no, that was for Quinn." "But Puck ever did that for you." "Sam, that was the past okay. There is only me and you. Only Emily Hudson and Sam Evans. That's it." I said to Sam. Sam takes my hands and hold it then put it into his sweater jacket and smiling at me. "May I know what is your lipbalm taste this time?" "Sure." I giggle. Sam just giggle and push his face closer to me and kisses me as he hold my hands and I kiss him back because his lips always taste amazing. "Hmm.. strawberry this time. I like that." Sam giggles. "Some people make fun of your lips but they dont know that you have amazing kisses." I giggle and turn my face back to my locker. "Because they never taste that." Sam says and strokes my hair. "I didnt know you have your dad picture in your locker." Sam kisses my head. "Mom said that I can take it so I took it so I will bring this to New York so I can place it into my room on my side table." I smile at Sam. "Can you also have my picture?" Sam asks me. "Babe, I have one here and I will bring it to New York." "Great then because we already late for the glee club." Sam says to me. "Thanks for reminding me." I shut my locker. "Sure thing, princess." Sam smiles at me and shows me his elbow. I hold his elbow then walk off from my locker to the choir room. "We just like a couple who want to get married." I chuckle. "Arent we? That's cool, babe." Sam giggles. We giggles each other as we enter the choir room and Rachel, Kurt, Artie, Mercedes, and Tina are showing us their first rehearsal in this glee club. "thank the Lord And I said to myself, sit down Said to myself, sit down Sit down, you're rockin' the boat Sit down I said to myself, sit down Said to myself, sit down Sit down, you're rockin' the boat And the Devil will drag you under By the scarf in back of your checkered coat Sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down Sit down, you're rockin' the boat Sit down, you're rockin', sit down, sit down, sit down You're rockin' the boat Sit down, you're rockin', sit down, sit down, sit down You're rockin' the boat Sit down You're rocking The boat!" They singing until they ended up their choreography. We just smiling and applauding at the end of their performance. This is funny and unforgetable. "That was the most ghetto number I have ever seen." Santana says to them. "Then just call me George Jefferson, because we went from the ghetto to the penthouse. National champs, baby!" Artie says happily. "This week's assignment is easy. Graduation is just a few days away. There's nothing left to prepare for. Our work here is done, so there's only one thing left to do: Say goodbye. Underclassmen, pick some songs to say goodbye to the seniors; seniors, pick a song to say goodbye to us." Mr. Schue says he wrotes 'Goodbye' on the white board. "A part of me wants to lock these doors and stay in here with everyone forever." Mercedes says to us. "We can use the wastebasket for the toilet, and then we could eat Joe for the food, since she's been here the shortest, so we know her the least." Brittany says. Mr. Schue pick up a guitar then sit down on the front. "I really hope you're about to rap." Quinn chuckles. "No such luck. I'm leading by example here. This one is for you guys." Mr. Schue says as he start playing his guitar. I lean my head on Sam's shoulder and my hand hold Santana's hand who sits down on my right side. Will: May the good Lord be with you Down every road that you roam And may sunshine and happiness Surround you when you're far from home And may you grow to be proud, dignified and true And do unto others as you'd have done to you Be courageous and be brave And in my heart you'll always stay Forever young, forever young Forever young, forever young May good fortune be with you May your guiding light be strong Build a stairway to Heaven With a prince or a vagabond And may you never love in vain And in my heart you will remain Forever young, forever young Forever young, forever young Forever young, forever young, yeah And when you finally fly away I'll be hoping that I served you well For all the wisdom of a lifetime No one can ever tell But whatever road you choose I'm right behind you, win or lose Forever young, forever young Forever young, forever young Forever young, forever young For, forever young, forever young Mr. Schue ended up his song with full of applauding from us. Tears slowly fall down to my face. I remember three years ago when I enter this glee club. "Can I spend my senior year for second times?" I snuffle and giggle. "No, you cant. Because your dream is right in front you." Mr. Schue smiles at us. "Come guys, huddle up!" We left our seats and walk to the front then start hugging each other because in few days we will graduate and move to our own place.
