The door splintered open, and it made me jump even behind the protective barrier. The Dark Alpha stood in the doorway. His eyes were totally black with a blood red hue and he was alone. I did not back down from his gaze as his partially shifted form heaved heavily in front of me. He stalked around me several times and threw himself once more upon the barrier.
This time he was thrown back before he even got close, and the light from the barrier exploded and illuminated every inch of the room.
