Nasty Habits

12 Hours Later

I woke up to soft music as I noticed I was laying on a bed that was covered in fur. I breathe in the scent coming from it, throwing my head back into its bliss. "I see someone's awake" I shoot up to the sound of voice caressing my heart. Everything in me fluttered as our eyes met. He was stunning,. beautiful in all ways possible. He came to my side and the scent that was on the bed was coming from him.

"Mate" My wolf growled. I gulped thinking how could I have two mates...

"I'm guessing your wolf has introduced who I was to you, my beautiful mate but let me introduce myself formally." He smiled and dimples spread across his face. I melted at the sight of him.

"King Barot" I said before he could..

"King.." He stopped in his tracks and looked at me. Shocked that I knew who he was.

"I read about you in the library, and seen dozens of pictures of you and of rumors about you being terrifying, but I know your story is both tragic and legendary." He really couldn't hold back as he blushed at me knowing of him. I cleared my throat, almost smiling at my victory.

"Well you should know that all that you hear is not true" He said with a stern tone.

"So your uncle killed almost the whole bear community, you get revenge back, and becoming the feared King of all, isn't true?" I smirk lifting an eyebrow.

"Um, yeah that part is true" He said rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh ok, I thought you said none of it was" I pointed out

"Actually I said all of it wasn't but that part is definitely true." I giggled and he smiled.

I feel comfortable with him, one that I get with Augustus. He touched my cheek and I let him. My face erupted with sparks that traveled throughout my body. I relaxed, closing my eyes, breathing in his honey scent mixed with something else. He pushed my hair from my face and tucked it behind my ear.

"Beautiful" He whispered and I blushed. "I know your birthday was three days ago" My eyes shot open, looking into his light brown ones that looked like honey in the sunlight. "And I have something special planned for you" He added

He kissed my forehead and told me to get ready as we have a long day ahead of us. I got up from the bed and entered the bathroom, brushing my teeth and showering.

I walked back out in a towel and he was dressed in casual clothes. He gestured to my clothes on the bed and left the room. I dried all the way off and used the lotion he had on the dresser and got dressed.

When he came back into the room the smell of food hit my nose and my stomach growled. He placed the tray on the table and two maids came in. One placing two fold out tables and the other sitting a tray of food on top.

He brought my food over to me and took the top off. I breathe in the delicious smell, saying thank you as I dig into the food. He chuckled and took his place beside me.

We ate in silence and when we were done three maids came back in this time, removing the trays and table. He took my hand and pulled me out of the room. We exit the castle that was decorated in purely white and gold, surrounded by trees.

I took in the scenery as he pulled me towards a parked dark tinted SUV. The guard opened the door for us. We got inside and went around the car, jumping into the drivers seat as another entered the passenger side.

"King" He addressed my Mate and Barot nodded in approval. The guard looked at me and just turned around to the front. I wonder what that was about. I thought to myself, I'm sure I'll find out later.

Barot put his arm around me and just smiled. I leaned into him, taking in the comfort of my second gifted mate. I thought about Augustus and how worried he might be but I'm not sure if my new mate wants me back there as we haven't addressed what happened. I went into deep thought trying to remember the details and as I was about to ask him about it. We came to a sudden halt. I looked out the window and saw that we were at a carnival. I gave him a sideways look. Knowing the whole Kingdom was looking for me.

"We are not in your Kingdom" He said reading my thoughts "Plus I am the King here. If anybody enters my Kingdom, I would know." He said with boldness

The guard opened the door and he exited the car, extending his hand back, asking me to join him. I took his hand, taking a step out of the car and into the loud crowd. I instantly became as a child as the smell of cotton candy and funnel cakes hit my nose.

I pulled him to the stand sitting close to the entrance of the carnival. I got a small cotton candy due to me still being stuffed from breakfast. I smiled satisfied as he led us to the ticket stand.

"Two wrist bands please" He told the ticket lady and she handed them over. Rubbing her hands against his but he paid her no mind as he turned to me to put the band on. She glared at the scene before her but was distracted again by the next customer in line.

I looked at him and back at her as sweat appeared on his forehead. I again wanted to ask but he finished my wrist band, rushing to put his on. He took my hand and pulled us away from the ticket stand.

We enjoyed all the rides, there were all types of creatures here. Bears, fairies, vampires, werewolves of all kinds. It was an amazing thing to experience different creatures in one Kingdom but I was becoming aggravated as most of the women were flirting with my mate. I was starting to think my mate is a womanizer. I stopped him in his tracks.

"Why is every woman here flirting with you?" I finally spoke up after the last one decided to comment on how I'm not better than her.

*King Barot*

I knew my nasty habits would soon catch up to me. As soon as I get my mate, every woman I laid hands on was working the carnival. Some even make rude comments that my mate seems to not be paying attention to.

I was stuck in my tracks when she asked me why every woman here was flirting with me and I knew I had to tell her the truth. Even if it did ruin the little time I knew I had with her. I just didn't think I would be laying out my bad deeds on the first day.

I cleared my throat "Can we talk somewhere else?" I murmured, not wanting to cause a scene. She didn't protest and I was happy for that much.

We entered the car and I could tell she was becoming impatient with me. I took her hand in mine and she turned to me, ready to hear what I have to say. I looked into her eyes knowing that we are unable to move forward if I keep these things hidden from her.. I took a deep breath

"I'm a w***e" I plainly said. Ripping the bandaid off. "but I have avoided it for two years now. Ever since I saw you that day, I couldn't touch another woman. I fought everyday to make sure I didn't hurt you in any way."

"It's because of the curse, isn't it?" My eyes became wide at the knowledge she has of my lonely life. Living with the baggage of my ancestors. "Is that why you have so many different creatures here?"

I told her about the witch that cursed me and how I couldn't find her. I accepted almost every creature and the curse was still not lifted. Since my family was dead, I am the one to pay for the choices of my forefathers and mother's. For the decision of the whole pack. I only blamed it on the fact that I am born of Royal Blood and all that witch saw was the next heir of the bastards who killed her daughter.

I felt Edrea touch my face, letting me know I wasn't alone anymore. I silently thank the moon goddess and the heavens, knowing that they smiled down on me when they created her. I felt like the luckiest hybrid alive.

I was then caught off guard as I felt a smack on my face. She folded her arms and I looked at her confused. Unable to read her energy as she jumped back and forth between emotions.

"I'm still mad at you" She huffed as tears dared escape her eyes but before I could say anything the car stopped and we were back at the castle. "Let's go, we need to talk privately." She pulled me out of the car and straight inside.

I became excited with her dominance and wanted nothing but to spank her for thinking she can command me. I followed her anyways, watching her hips sway side to side as she leads us to my room. I shut the door and wait for her to blow up in my face like most females I've actually dated. I waited but it never came. She just sat there sobbing in her hands. I walked up to her and she pushed me away.

"How could you?" I was confused... "How could you kidnap me? why didn't you just come up to me? I would've given you a chance." She looked at me as tears continued to stain her face.

"I didn't" I stopped to think about how she must think I was a monster. That I was the one who stole her after everyone found out she was the Phoenix Wolf.. I knew that was a dumb move but I did take the opportunity to take her for myself when I followed her kidnappers back to their hidden place.

"You didn't what? Barot.." She yelled and as much as I enjoyed my name rolling off her tongue. I had to stay focused on the problem in front of me.

"I didn't kidnap you" She looked at me dumbfounded, not believing me because all evidence points to me as she is standing in my Kingdom, in my castle, in my bedroom, in the middle of nowhere.

"But" She started but I cut her off.

"I didn't kidnap you. I saved you from your kidnappers" Her eyebrows forward and she sat on the bed. No longer able to take what she thought she figured out as something completely different.

"But who?"

"Don't worry about that Flower, You're safe." I reassured her

"Who Barot?" She said with force that almost made me bow. I was immediately taken aback at her power.

"I said don't worry about it" I matched her aura and we both had a stare down. I broke it by saying "Dinner will be ready soon" With a much calmer voice. She looked away

"I'm not hungry" She claimed

"But you will eat" And with that I left the bedroom.
