Hidden Truths

After getting up and allowing my mate to freshen up and get released from this hospital I couldn't help but go into deep thoughts about the information given to me last night.

I sat there looking out the window. Watching how every now and then an omega comes around the corner to grab more decorations for the ceremony out of the storage we hold all of the decorations in.

I had so much on my mind. I didn't know how to tell her how I felt when I first met her. That I used to think she was a weak mate and unfit for the Luna position just as my sister does.

But I changed my mind soon after. And when I found out she was in the pack cells for not just fighting anyone but my sister. An Alpha female! I lost it...

She round housed my sister into a Tree and damn near split it.

If I knew any better I wouldn't doubt a second longer that my Mate wasn't just a strong mate but damn powerful one. I wanted her to know the whole truth before she makes the decision to continue what we have already.

**** Before last night ****

I had a trusted friend dig into the background of the missing daughter of the King and Queen, also checking into the legend of the Phoenix wolf. I always felt it was more to it than the story was told.

The legend that I recently found out had more to the story that could be connected to my sweet kitten. So I did a DNA test, ensuring the King and Queen that it was just for a project. But I know they knew I was up to something.

I had Lucy run the test last night as I waited patiently by my Mates side.. She rushed in the room and I had to stop her before she blurted out and wake Edrea..

"What did you find?"

"Edrea is the daughter of the King and Queen. She is the heir to the throne" She whispered. I sworn her to secretly until I get to the bottom of this because this was bigger than us both. I thought back when the Queen telling me about her daughters eyes and swirls of the Galaxy circled around her one night. Remembering the smile and sadness that graced her face at the thought of her lost daughter. Ensuring me that her daughter is the Phoenix Wolf...Not my sister.

How do I tell my Mate that she was destined to be a legendary wolf? How was I to tell her that she was stolen as a baby and written off as an omega instead of her true birth right. How was I suppose to tell her that her real parents did want her and those real parents are the King and Queen...

I didn't know how to break the news to her but I needed to do it before the ceremony. Before everything I feel will break loose tonight. With the Queen staying behind to witness the ceremony, to witnessing the Phoenix Wolf. There was no doubt the truth would be revealed.

I did some more digging, still in the room as Edrea sleeps. I recently just found out the true name is not actually the Phoenix Wolf but Yōso-tekina Sonzo. (The Elemental one) Someone changed it through out history and it stuck. They only call it the Phoenix Wolf because of a bird shape symbol that was left embedded into the ground when the energy disappeared that faithful night.

I was jolted out of my thoughts as I felt her arms wrap around my waist..I immediately relaxed at her touch, letting her warmth consume me. My mind drifted back to I was once thinking, I knew it needed to be done now and not later.

"I have something I need to tell you but first I already picked out your." I said. She looked me with so much innocence all I wanted to do was pull her away from this world but I knew that would be selfless of me to take her away from her destiny.

*Edrea*

He already had food waiting for us in his room and we ate in silence. He would glace at me every now and then and I wondered what he needed to tell me. He cleaned up our plates and moved them to the side then quickly sat back down and took my hands.

I scooted closer to him ready to hear what he had to say. His mouth opened and closed like a fish as he tried to find where to start. I was becoming impatient and was about to yell at him to just tell me when Lana busted into the room.

"Why are you not ready?" She looked at us confused. Augustus growled and she stopped in her tracks.

"Sorry love, My best friend doesn't know boundaries sometimes" I stood up and started pushing Lana out the room.

"But you only have 30 mins before it time to shift and the least you can do is have your make up done so you don't have to worry about that part after. Just getting dress and doing your hair. Plus you need a shower cause you still smell like a hospital" She said in a rush

"She's right" I stopped and we both looked at Augustus. "The ceremony starts in 30 mins and you need a shower." He said while grabbing his clothes and walking out but not before he kisses. "Y'all can have the room. I'ma take one of the guest rooms." He said before disappearing.

"See, Your hubby knows best" Lana said now pushing me towards the bathroom. She touched me like I smelled of rotten eggs but I only laughed at her actions.

I took a shower and got dressed in a T-shirt and some leggings since they will be ripped anyways. I allowed Lana to do my Make up and then we headed down stairs. I found my place with the other shifters and seen Flora glaring at me from the side. Augustus took the stage and everyone became quite.

"Tonight is the night we gain new shifters" Everyone cheered "but it is also the night the Phoenix wolf shall come forth." Augustus spoke from the stage and everyone cheered even louder. He took the place of his father since the Alpha was still recovering from the damage the Queen caused. I didn't know she was such a bad ass, as Lana puts it when she told me about rumors of the kings ass whooping but for some reason I felt he deserved it.

"Come forth young shifters for the moon can not be seen but you will be." He gestures for us to stand in front of the crowd. I took a spot next to a boy and girl who were holding hands. They looked at each other and smiled. I could hear their bones breaking and I cringed. I looked around to see everyone bones breaking but before I could react any more a pain shot through me and it was my turn to shift.

"Wow" was all I heard when I came to, realizing I was standing on all four paws that look huge. Bigger than the average wolf, bigger than a Alpha wolf. I looked up to see Lana smiling at me from ear to ear.

"I knew it" was all she said
