The Beast

My mates are the best and with both of them by my side. I am able to do what I need to do. At first I wasn't so confident in my skills but now I feel like I can achieve anything. I can sense that Augustus doesn't like how the King and I have become close and even though we have more to work out. He is still my mate and I have to give him a chance. I will talk to Augustus about it later. Right now I have a ball of fire to put out.

"Let's do this" I release time and the ball of fire shot right at us. I heard someone tell us to run but this wasn't a running situation. Well at least not for me. "Water, come to me" I felt how the water moved through the ground as the trees moved their roots. Rising towards me urgently as it can sense danger.

A split second later water rushed out of the ground and into the fire. It collided with such force Augustus slid back a small distance as he fought against the force. But King Barot was unmoved as he transformed into his over large beast of a bear that just sat there. It looked like the energy coming from this blast was just caressing his fur. It must be from his father's side who seems to still remain a mystery to me. I forwarded my brows and his bear looked at me, wagging his ears and sticking out it's tongue.

Augustus catches my attention again as he struggles to not fly back into a tree. King Barot senses my distress for my other mate and walks over to Augustus as he grabs him with his paw and pulls him into his fur. Augustus is thrown off at first and fights the help but then soon realize it's no use. King Barot strength out weights his in so many ways. I'm relieved they are safe and focus back on the task at hand.

I turned back to see the beast fire is running out for now. As soon as the beast stops, I do the same running towards my mates to make sure they are good. They seem unscratched, even with all the struggles Augustus had to put in with that blast.The whole area is in a fog and mist due to fire and water mixing at a scorching degree. I looked around to see if I could see through the fog and there I spotted the beast roaming the forest trying to see, he roared so loud we had to cover our ears.

He took off to the sky and I'm guessing it was to get a better look at the area. I took that chance to grab his attention, I ran a distance from my mates and shot up into the sky. I can hear Augustus calling after me but there was silence from The King. I looked down to see a worried look on Augustus face as the King gave me a look that told me he trusted me.

I nodded and rushed towards the beast. I needed to get his attention, I needed to slow him down so I could get to his human side. So I did the unthinkable, I attacked him. I shot a wind ball at him and he definitely didn't like that. I caught his attention but before he could react I flew off, making him chase me. We flew over the ocean as he attacked me with his fire but I didn't stop until we were far away on a deserted island. When I landed a ball of fire landed with me but I used water as a shield.

"Is that all you got?" I yelled out as I dismissed the flame from around me with my own fire ability. "I thought you were better than that?" The dragon screeches loudly causing me to cover my ears once again.

He came towards me with full speed and I ran towards him with equal determination. I called on earth and it wrapped around my fist like a shield. We collided with such force I flew back into the water as he kissed the earth a million times over.

By the time he came to a stop, I already found my balance and went to check on the beast. He seems to be injured and I hated how it had to come to this but until we find a way to make him human without battling him, this will have to do. I lowered myself down to his eye level and he growled, trying to move. Though he couldn't move, seeing that he had a broken wing. I landed fully on the ground as concern washed over me. I slowly walked towards him and he tried to fly away.

"I truly apologize, I did not mean to hurt you but I could not have you hurt innocent people." He huffed smoke out his nose towards me and I cleared it before it reached me. "Let's not be rude" I put my hand on my hip. He laid his large head on the ground, letting me know I can come closer to him. I walked slowly and carefully as he watched my every move. I reached out to touch his wing and he flinched back, growling at me. "Don't be a baby" I yelled at him "Let me look at it. It looks bad. Can transform back to your human?" He nodded his large head yes "How? show me"

He walked towards the sand, well more like dragged himself. I rolled my eyes at how much of a baby he was acting like. I laughed but then remembered that he just transformed two days ago. Of course he's a baby and that very thought made me laugh harder.

The dragon makes a line under a word he had spelled in the sand. I moved closer to see that he wrote 'NAME'. I was confused for a second until it clicked. How could I have been so dumb, of course it's that simple of a fix but just to confirm

"You need me to say your name?" The dragon nodded "Well that's easy enough, Matthew" I said and he started to transform back into his human form and thank the goddess he is still fully dressed. "Matthew" I yelled louder, rushing towards him and hugging him

"Ouchhhhh" He cried

"Oh my goodness, I didn't , oh my, forgive me" I fumbled my words, hating that I keep hurting him.

"It's ok, let's just go home so I can get looked at." He smiled and I smiled back. I took his hand and we teleported back to the front gate. I looked around for my mates but they was no where to be found.

"Where are my mates?" I asked a Bear Warrior

"They went looking for you, My Queen. Along side the other King and Queen and some warriors." I nodded "I will mindlink King Barot to let them know you're here." I nodded again.

"Thank the Goddess" His sisters rushed to us "Thank you Edrea, we owe you our lives." Jamie his oldest sister said to me.

"Don't worry about it, I'm just happy I can help" I replied not wanting nothing but everyone to be safe. "Now let's get him looked at" They nodded and we walked towards the hospital.

"Still we are in your debt" His twin sister Matty said with tears in her eyes as we walked along with each other I nodded and we reached the hospital. The nurses took him in and Matty turned to me "Thank you, if you weren't there then I don't..." She choked on her words as she let her face drop in her hands.

"I apologize, this is very emotional for us. Creatures get put away by the royal guard if any harm is caused to another" Jamie rubbed her sister back, trying to calm her down but her cries only deepened with her sister words. "We are all we got."

"Why is that?" Curious on why their parents weren't around. Jamie sighed.

"Some Guards put our parents down for talking down to the Kings girl friend at the time."

My fist tightened and she touched my hands. "How could he? " I asked through gritted teeth

"He didn't know at the time but when he found out what she did to our parents. He beheaded her for being cruel to his people and we was left alone after that. Well mostly, People usually messed with us in a bullying way because they knew if they caused real harm. They too will face the same faith." She reassured me

"And that's how the law was made?" She nodded and it all made sense now. "Thank you, I will come back later to check on him" They nodded and we parted ways.
