Chapter 5

Credieu's POV

Today is a very tiring day for me and also tomorrow. In short, every weekends. I need to save money in order to buy a unit coz I can't stand to always see my stepmother's face.

Madali na lang naman ang pagbili ko kase tinutulungan din naman ako ni Chloe. She's giving her money to contribute for the unit. Our unit I mean. Her reason? She said she can't handle her mother's evilness. Sugo yata ng demonyo yung mama niya.

Within 1 hour, I need to be in the cafè or else I'll be late. Working is the only way I see to earn more money. I cannot do such things like online selling, raket raket you know. It will only affect my father's job. He's a governor and his daughter is selling online? It will break the good image of my father.

After doing my morning rituals, I stormed out of my room and went inside my car. I'll just eat when I get there.

It's still half an hour and that's good because I'll take a cab after parking my car in Tita Brenda's house. In the garage ofc.

I'm not dumb enough to go to work via car. It'll look like I'm boasting and I don't like it.

I immediately change my clothes when I get inside the café. 10 minutes is enough for me to get ready. Besides, they will still arrange the tables and chairs before opening.

My job is to get the payment and orders. Being a cashier is not easy. If others think that you will just get the payment and orders then its done, well its a big no no. You must be accurate in counting and for giving them the change because when the money lacks, you will be incharge of it.

Aside from money lacking, you will also encounter those people who's using a fake money. You must be an observant. That's what you call Manual Counterfeit Detection. Well, you cannot put all the blame to the one assigned in handling the money because it's also the people who's faking it.

Those are just two of the common mistakes of being a cashier. They're still more such as Double Counting, Outdated Technology, Sharing Register or many more. Being a cashier is not only about counting and handling money, it's also about observing and communicating others.

" 5 minutes more and we"ll open. Be ready! " Ate Lea said. She's the one who's guiding us.

In an instant I went straight to the cash register and starts to prepare it.

" A Tall Caramel Frappuccino and a Ham and Cheese Croissant. "

" Let me repeat sir. A Tall Caramel Frappuccino and a Ham and Cheese Croissant. " he nodded. " That will be 230 pesos. "

" I receive 500. Can I have your name sir? "

" Dwight. "

" In ten minutes it will be serve. Thank you. "

Exhausted. That's what I feel. The customers are way many today than before. I can't focus on reading right now so I stopped. Nothing will happen if I continue forcing my self to read. My head will just hurt if I read not in the mood. What I need right now is chocolate or strawberry bar.

Those two makes my mind calm. It helps me think more easily and widely.

I stand up and get a chocolate in my mini fridge. Different brands of chocolates are there because yesterday night, Chloe went home. And right now, she's sleeping on my bed. She always sleep beside me whenever she wants to. And vice versa.

If you are wondering how can she sleep here without her mom knowing it? Easy, it's because our maids are our allies. Aside from Chloe, they're the one who's treating me as a bestfriend. I don't want to call them maids, I want to call them bestfriend.

They always help us when Chloe and I wants to be together. They give them many many alibis so that we will not be scolded.

Having those women makes me lucky. Even if they're not my real family, they always treat me as one of them. We're not related by blood, but we're related by heart.

My senses get back when I heard Chloe's voice.

" Hey why you still up? " she said. I don't want to talk more so I just shrug. She knows what it means.

Before going to bed, I took a shower and change my clothes.

I was about to close my eyes when I heard her voice again.

" Are we going to Tita Brenda tomorrow? " she said.

I just nod in response.

" What time? Before or after your work? "

Before answering her, I turn sideways to face her.

" We'll go there before going to my work then I'll just ask if I can leave early so, us and Tita Brenda can talk about the condo. That's all. Goodnight. Loveyou! " I replied. And close my eyes.

I woke up and do my morning routines. Probably Chloe get back to her room for her to get ready. We'll ride in a same car so I have to be fast. Chloe doesn't want to be late or in other words, she's always an early bird. Even if its just a simple meeting like that. If she gets late? She will just cancel the meeting and reschedule it. Or she's not gonna take it seriously. That's her.

Ayoko din naman ng late at ayokong malate pero incase na malate, hindi ako nagpapacancel. It's okay to be late, pero wag namang sagadin.

After putting a vaseline on my lips, I carry my bag and go outside to wait for her. Few minutes have passed when I saw her walking towards me.

I'am the one who will drive so I get the keys and open the car. One car is enough since her mom and my dad is still at abroad. So we're free of doing anything we want.

While driving, a question suddenly pop up in my mind. What is the problem in her work?

" Hey! You told me that there's a problem in your work? May I know what it is? And what is it that you're going to be involve if you don't leave? " I asked her.

" Why do I feel like you don't want me to go back? " she asked back.

" That's just your feeling. I want you here but I can't be with you for the rest of the time because we still have classes. That's why I'm asking what happened? "

" Okay okay fine! " she said while raising her two hands in the air, acting up like surrendering something.

" I can't tell it to you as detailed as you want because its very confidential and its only for those employees inside the company. And I also don't know what happened. They said na may nagnakaw daw ng pera sa company. " she was about to continue what she were saying when I stopped her.

" Then why did you leave? Is it you? "

" Seriously Eia? It's not me of course. Yes I need money but I'm not in the point of stealing money from someone to have one. " then that's a relief.

" Our manager suspects someone so he told us to leave. And that's it. " she ended her story.

But one thing is in my mind, why does her manager tells them to leave? She must let them all stay and no one must leave so they can determine who is it.

" Do you encounter any problems with the manager? "

" Hmm? Wala pa naman. Why? "

" If you'll have any, contact me immediately. "

" Does this situation happened before? "

" As long as I remember, yep. It happened before pero mas malaking halaga ang kinuha ngayon kesa noon. Our manager did tell us to leave so I leave, but I didn't go here because they said that it will not take time that much. "

" Tss. If this happen again, be sure to make a resignation letter ate. I smell something fishy about your manager. "

Before she says something we already arrive to Tita Brenda's house.

Bago pa man kami lumabas ng kotse ay nakita ko na si Tita Brenda na nagaabang sa kanilang gate. I will not be shock since she's always like that. She calculates time.

As we enter inside her house, I told them already that I will leave so they can talk and have a bonding peacefully.

" Stay safe Eia! " it's Tita Brenda by the way.

I waved my hands at them without turning and walk away.

I'm just waiting for a taxi to come so I can go in my work.

And now I'm currently on my way to Tita's house. It's very tiring but I know it will be worth it. We still have a lot of time to talk because I asked my boss if I can leave this afternoon amd good thing she let me.

While walking I received a call from Chloe. According to her, they're not in the house, they bought a food for us and told me to go straight to Tita's house. I know how to obey instructions so I did what I was told.

Hours passed by, the opening of the door made me awake from my nap. They are probably here so I decided to stand and arrange the bed where I take a nap.

Baka maguusap na kami kaya naghalfbath ako. Feel at home naman ako dito kaya okay lang. Actually, we have a room here, since Tita is just with her maids.
