Chapter Nine: Dawn visits

1417 Words
Kylie’s P.O.V Issac and I were woken up by my phone ringing but before I could Isaac answered it. “Hello, Kylie’s phone.” I just hoped it was no one from this town calling because then they might catch on to us being mates or something. “And why the f**k do you have it?” I heard Scorch’s voice and covered my face out of embarrassment because I knew they’d have their little dominance wrestle over the phone. Something my mate and my sister’s mate had in common, they were both hotheaded and protective. Isaac growled. “Don’t worry about that, I’ll take a message.”  Scorch growled back, his a bit more dominant and stronger. “Give her the damn phone.” At least they couldn’t get physically over the phone, they could only get mad. I tried to take the phone from Isaac but he just wouldn’t let me. “Isaac it’s just my brother.” I pouted, I wanted my family to like Isaac not get the wrong impression. Scorch suddenly laughed when he heard me, I think he understood what was going on for the most part. “Tell her to meet me for coffee in the local shop.” And he hung up. Isaac glared at me. “You didn’t tell me you had a brother, how am I supposed to know if you’re lying?” I didn’t like that he was questioning me, he was being paranoid. I rolled my eyes and dragged myself out of bed. “I have a twin brother and you know I have an older sister, the Queen who’s married, that was her husband. Come with me if you don't believe me.” It was nice that Isaac knew about my family being royals, one less thing to hide from him. He got out of the bed fast. “Wasn’t gonna let you meet up with a man I don’t know alone.” He got dressed, we left and didn’t talk much on the way. I just thought about how scared I was that things might not work out with Isaac because of the whole situation. When he does stuff like this it makes me think he’s planning for us to stay together and he did tell me but he’s alpha and if his pack doesn't accept me so how could we be together? Once we got in town it didn’t take us long to get to the coffee shop. Scorch was there in a booth, when Isaac saw him he had this jealous aura around him. Scorch might be my sister’s husband but even I can admit he was pretty good looking and intimidating so when you mix the two well any guy could be jealous. “Scorch!” I ran over to the booth giggling and sat on his side. Isaac growled a bit and walked over to the booth, he sat down and as soon as he noticed Scorch had a toddler sitting on his lap he calmed down a little. “Is that your kid?” He asked. Scorch nodded as Dawn started climbing up to his head. I grabbed her and kissed her all over and she giggled. “Dawn I missed you so much.” I felt deeply connected to Dawn, she was like me, the same kind of hybrid I am and also a girl. Isaac stared at Scorch. “What are we doing here?” He asked with a tone of annoyance. Scorch looked at Isaac, with no words, he didn’t even glare, he just stared into his eyes. I thought it would start a fight, and Scorch knew what he was doing since it was obvious to him Isaac was a wolf. He was challenging him and Issac actually stood down, he just looked away and Scorch turned to me. “I need you to watch Dawn, Carissa is actually letting me do King stuff now so I’m joining their meeting today, it’s on and off meetings for the rest of the day. I would have asked your mom since she loves babysitting but I thought you might be missing her, it’s only for today, I’ll pick her up in the morning.” “Yes, yes, yes.” I was so excited, Dawn was getting older and even though I'm spending the last two years of high school here I want to still be a part of her life for these two years. Scorch patted my head with a half smile and my mate was silently fuming. I felt bad my mate had to sit through that so I pulled down some of the scorch’s shirt at his shoulder to show Isaac his mark and I did but I accidentally touched it. after mates bond they mark each other to complete the mating process. If Isaac sees Scorch is mated he won’t be worried at much. “Ah s**t!” Scorch groaned and glared at me, when the mark is touched the person they’re mated with feels it as well so Scorch felt a stinging pain and Carissa, my sister felt that he was touched there. “Thanks a lot, now Carissa is being passive aggressive in my head. I’m gonna get back now.” He turned to my mate who wasn’t suspicious of Scorch anymore since he saw the mark, he was calm. “Hurt my little sister and I’m probably gonna kill you.” His eyes color changed to how they looked in his dragon form and then back. “I could wipe out your entire pack and without my army.”  Isaac didn’t show his fear but when Scorch used his eyes to reveal he was a dragon, Isaac was very scared, dragons are feared by most species. Dawn stared at Isaac. “Kill, kill.” She repeated and giggled. Scorched face palmed, Carissa always told Scorch not to say stuff like that around Dawn. “Anyways you get the point.” We all stood up and whispered in my ear, "You should give Finn a call or should I say CM?" I ignored that comment then he said at a normal volume,  “Kylie, I should tell you Dawn just started hiccuping.” I gasped and looked at her in amazement because I’m a hybrid too and I never hiccuped, Kellin my twin brother did once but not until he was 5 which is late. “Bye princess.” He kissed Dawn’s forehead and she had the biggest smile on her face. “Bye princess.” He said again but to me and patted my head, he gave me a bag of Dawn’s stuff and left. I turned to Isaac. “You wanted to come.” I shrugged and Dawn started to fall asleep on me. Isaac sighed. “I barley paid attention in class, I forgot the Southern Elf King was a dragon shifter” They taught current events at our high school in nonhuman history class so they learned about current news in kingdoms within the magical world. I sighed and we started walking out of town. “You don’t have to worry about him, my sister keeps him from doing anything like murder... most the time.”  “Reassuring.” Isaac joked. Once we got back in my room I put her on my bed, I wanted to see her hiccup so bad. Isaac grabbed all these things. “I have a lot of paperwork to deal with and reports to finish and send off to my dad.” I walked to him. “Can’t you have your beta do it?” He looked conflicted, I didn’t want to get in the way of his work but we mostly only hang out at nights and sometimes ditch a class together. “Only this once,  I’ll get her to write a few of the reports, she has been wanting to do more.” He left to tell Bay about her new workload then come back to the room where I was just staring at Dawn. I looked to Isaac when he came back in. “I want to work on getting the magic users and witches to make up with the wolves.” Isaac tried not to laugh and that was obvious. “I’ll get us top four together, you get one representative from each group not including yourself and we’ll negotiate.” He was trying and that’s all that mattered to me. “Thank you! I’ll meet you in the conference room in an hour.” I watched him leave then got my phone and texted the magic user group text telling them about how I want to unite our groups. They picked Casey as their representative probably cause everyone else was too scared. I called Dove to tell her about the situation and she gave me Brent's number so he could represent them. Brent didn’t want to do it at first but Dove called it in a special request, she was sick of being scared whenever she saw one of the werewolves at school.
