The Kind Of Father JB Is

1242 Words
Josh covered Alex's back with the duvet and left his room to his grandfather's room. He did not forget to lock his door on the way. Josh met his father on his way and cursed. The last person he wants to see now is the man here. He has no issue with his father but he doesn't like to see him. "Hey son, Merry Christmas" The father wished him cheerfully, expecting a warm welcome from him but he should know Josh by now, he is not always kind with his words. "I am surprised you decided to return, I thought you will spend Christmas in London" JB shook his head, how can he forget that his son behaves like a total stranger towards him and he should have expected something like this from him? "Well, your mom and I could not because of your sudden wedding. I don't know why dad has to convert Luke's wedding to yours" "Sorry dad, you all are misunderstanding the whole thing. Luke's wedding supposedly did not hold and since I have brought home a wife, grandfather made it possible to have me wedded instead to cancel the whole wedding arrangement. It would be unfair on the part of the priest, I kind of understand him though, if I were in his shoes I would do the same thing so don't misinterpret the situation, Dad. Welcome home and Merry Christmas" He said and left almost immediately. He has no time to continue. JB watched Josh as he made his way to his grandfather's room. He knows Josh would rather tell his problem to his grandfather than him, his own father, that's why he has to visit the old man as early as 6 am. But come to think of it. The mansion Aura changed, this is not how it used to be. He is so surprised that his father would actually fix something on this day. It seems he is forgetting about the past and that will be good for everybody and maybe the old way they used to celebrate Christmas here would be restored. He remembered his late sis, the reason there has never been a Christmas celebration for years now. She was a sister and more as little as she was then. Jessica has to be the strongest She-human he has come across. Unfortunately, she never grew up past the age of five. The incident of that night has refused to leave his Memories and he has tried as much as possible to erase them. He is trying though it did not affect him the way it affected his father. He was just a little boy too, ten years old then. Thank God for his wife who gradually replaced Jessica in his life and that is why he would rather spend his time with her than do anything else. His father has failed to understand him on that level but he can't do more than he has done. His sons are old now so it's time his father hands the CEO position to one of them and relieves him to live his life to the fullest which is the way it should be. He would talk to his father about it. He turned and headed to his younger son's room. Luke heard knocking on his door and frowned. He has got enough problems to solve, he doesn't want any this morning. Whoever is at the door should be a solution to his present predicament or else. "Come in the door is open" He yelled and the door opened almost immediately to reveal his father. The first time his father visited his room so early, did something happen? "Good morning Dad, welcome back home" "Thanks, Son," JB said and walked over to his son who was sitting on his bed frowning. "Luke what happened and why was your wedding with Miss Sahery canceled?" Luke could not believe his ears. Did his dad come here to remind him of his failed wedding? What sort of father is he? If this is coming from a stranger he could understand but he can't understand his father, why the only person that matters to his father is their mother. His son was getting married but he didn't know anything about only that he was getting married. His dad was supposed to be the first to know about it but here, he wants to know why his supposed marriage did not go as planned. For now, he has nothing to say to his father, when he will have a big issue with him is if Alex eventually marries Josh, then this Bleak family will know the stuff he is made of. "Dad, I believe grandfather will be in the best position to answer you, not me." "Why that? You are the one who is supposed to get married, why should I ask your grandfather?" Luke turned and stared at his father. "I am so ashamed of you, dad, the only thing you care about is mom. I am beginning to think you are not our father. If not for grandfather, dad, if not for him, I wondered what kind of life Josh and I would have lived." Luke was pissed off and his dad coming added fuel to the burning flame. JB stared at his son, he really understood his son, only that he couldn't help it. He can't do otherwise. His wife is his world. His dad did a good job by grooming his sons for him and he would be grateful for that. It's time everyone grows up and stops telling his flaws to his face. "I am your father, young man, mind the way you talk to me." Luke chuckled. "This is unbelievable, I can't believe you, dad. Anyway, when you are done, make use of the door" Luke said and walked out on his father. He went into the bathroom to keep his sanity. He needs his head to think clearly. He has been waiting for Stacy to call for plan B, in case plan A didn't work out and the b*tch has refused to call. He stared at his reflection in the mirror and can't believe the kind of person he has become overnight because of a lady. Anger and bitterness were evident on his face and as it is now, Luke would do anything to have those two separated if they ever get married. "Let's see how far you both will go. Alex, you are mine and mine forever, I don't care what I have done but be rest assured that you will come back to me" He blinked his eyes and pulled up his lips in a smile. "My promise to you." Luke smiled. JB, having stayed there for a long time while his son was inside the bathroom, stood up and walked out of the room. On his way out of the room, he saw one of the maids. He smiled when he remembered her name. "Lucy!" He called softly and Lucy bowed, "Yes sir" "Get me two cups of coffee, make it thick and creamy. Merry Christmas" He said and left without waiting for a response from the maid. Lucy smiled to herself. "So Big master still remembers my name, that shows I am as important as I thought." With her head held high and a shoulder of that of a peacock, Lucy left to do what she was asked to do.
