Far From Home

Luke, who has been in deep thought jot back to reality when his phone rang. He hissed when the caller was not the person he had been waiting to call him. It was his long best friend who was supposed to play his best man but could not because he was not going to make it home on Christmas.
"Why is this dude calling me now?"
He stared at the phone as it continued to ring and finally decided to pick it up.
"Hello!"
"Hello, my G, what took you so long to pick? Oh, I forget, you are busy getting ready for your wedding."
The guy on the other end said coolly, Luke twisted his lips in anger. Hanging up on the guy was the best thing for him and that was exactly what he did.
The dude had to disturb him like this, he shook his head and tossed the phone into his pocket.
Luke was obviously not aware of what was going on because Senior Bleak had played it quietly. He made sure no one was aware of their absence in the house except his men.
Luke's phone rang again and this time around, the caller was who he had been expecting.
He quickly picked it up and Stacy's voice came on the line.
"Sorry I called late, something came up."
"It's fine, so?"
"I found the priest who is to officiate the wedding and he has been kidn*pped so be rest assured that if A did not Work, B will definitely do."
Stacy said, sounding so sure of herself and Luke grinned, this is the kind of news he wants to be hearing. He was a bit relieved. Let him see how his grandfather will get a priest to officiate the wedding today, it was not going to happen so for now the wedding is on hold.
"The groom and the bride are ready but no priest, let's see how it goes with you guys."
He thought to himself, the call was long over. He pulled the phone down from his ear and went back to bed.
He missed his beauty sleep last night, it's time to grab it back because he wouldn't want to miss the drama that will unfold later.
Silas maneuvered the car into the hospital gate and killed the engine, by now the staff of Grey's hospital was on standby waiting for their arrival.
Two nurses came over to them immediately with a stretcher, Josh's side was opened and the two nurses took Alex from him and placed her on the stretcher, and wheeled her inside immediately followed by Senior Bleak and Josh. They met the hospital doctor halfway and he took over from the nurses who followed him behind while he asked Josh and the old man to wait behind which they obeyed.
Senior Bleak can't believe he has to be here on Christmas morning, not that it's important to him. The only Christmas present he wants is not to lose someone again on the damned Christmas day because he will not forgive himself.
Josh, was in his own thoughts, battling with why he had to let Alex sleep on the cold floor and still put the AC on highest. Looking back he realized how stupid he was. There was no need to prove a point, he should have ignored her and found a space for himself. What happens if she never wakes up, his grandfather would make sure he pays dearly, he trusts him on that and again, knowing that Alex seems to catch the old man's heart. He was in a deep mess and prayed to come out of it as soon as possible.
Senior Bleak can only trust the credibility of Grey's hospital. The hospital is the best in the state with the best medical equipment. It has never failed and he is sure it will not fail on his own case.
"Alex dear, you know I like you, please don't leave."
He prayed silently. Alex has caught his heart and he likes her a lot and that's why he had converted Luke's wedding day to Josh since Luke's wedding was not going to be held anymore and besides, it was an opportunity to get Josh married because he knows the young man was never serious when it comes to ladies and seeing that Josh likes Alex a lot was a green light for him too.
Josh and Senior Bleak have been standing since they came into the hospital, this was going to be a long wait so they went into the hospital waiting room and sat down. If only a miracle will happen in Josh's favor.

Alex felt weird and stood up from the pavement she has been sitting on for the past 30 minutes. It seems her brother was not coming home after all and the best thing for her to do is to go look for him at every possible place she thinks he might be.
If only Santa would protect him for her.
She has taken two steps when she found her long-dead parents in front of her. She could not believe her eyes, she felt like jumping.
"Dad, mom, what are you both doing here?"
"We are supposed to ask you the same thing, dear, don't you think you are far from home?"
Her mom was not smiling, and the same thing with her dad. It seems they are not happy to see her but if they are not happy to see her why are they here?
She looked up and stared at them.
"What do you mean by I am far from home? As a matter of factly, this is my apartment and Ander is not around. I was about going to look for him when I saw you two"
" Alex, revisit your memory and check if you are supposed to be here and when you are done, please go back home where you belong. They are people who love you and would not want to lose you, Ander is one of them. The young man is so worried about you, it's Christmas anyway. Merry Christmas"
The dad said and after that, they both disappeared. Alex stood terrified and confused, things were beginning to confuse her. First the lady and now, her parents. What could this mean?
Well she will find out later, she has to look for her brother and when she finds him, only then will she sit down and understand what's going on.

Ander felt somehow relieved but not totally. He still feels his big sis is not okay. Who is that man and why did his big sis not mention the guy to him the last time she called? It's unlike her because she literally tells him everything.
Ander can't seem to place his hand on it.
He has almost packed his backpack, he was just going home for Christmas and will soon be back in a week so no need for too many things.
His roommate, Jarden, came in and smiled.
"I am going to miss you, bro, do well to take care of yourself, and my regards to your big sis"
Jarden said and Ander smiled.
"I will man, don't forget to do the same. It's just one week and we will be back in school"
"Yeah, you are right but still, don't forget to have fun"
They exchanged friendly hugs and Ander picked up his backpack, it was time for him to go. He would just go and wait for the person who was coming to get him. Jarden escorted him outside their school gate.
Ander, while they walked side by side, he remembered his first time in college. It has always been his sis and him and coming to college away from his sis was harder than he thought. It was all new to him because he has to be away from her but it was in the best interest of his future.
Jarden was a fresh guy like him but was more experienced than him so Jarden played a big brother to him and helped him to settle down. It was not easy at first but he adapted anyway. He had to and he did. After his sis, the next person he cherished most is Jarden, though he doesn't want to admit it.
Jarden looked at the guy by his side and smiled, he remembered how they both started. Ander understands him on a different level and their friendship has not gone sour for once. Their bromance was way beyond comprehension.
Even after college, he knows they will always be friends.
