Stacy came down from her car with a deep frown on her face, she was not smiling at all. She has no will to back down from her quest of proving to her dad that she could do without him. She knows too well that she can't do without him.
Stacy stared at the old-looking building in front of her, what she is doing there or how she got there, she would be ashamed to say all about it, but does she still have shame?
"It's no big deal anyway, as far as I get what I want, how I get it is not a problem."
With that, she headed into the building.
She did not have to knock and the door opened, it was like she was being watched all along. He has been expecting her.
She sighed and went into the building, she had come far to back out. It's No Going back for her.
She walked into what could be presumed as a living but she met it empty. She looked around and saw the smiling portrait of the jerk hanging by the left side of the wall.
That's the only normal thing in the living room, every other thing seems odd. He has no tv set, just two sets of cushions and the place does not seem as if it has been cleaned for days, it was as empty as the occupant.
Stacy hissed aloud.
She could not believe that Gregory she knows would become the person he is now. He was one sweet soul back in the day.
He was her best buddy and while growing up, he made her childhood and teen age memorable.
How easily people deviate from life.
"When you are done staring, you come up darling."
She heard and turned to see a microphone on the wall, it was definitely coming from there and the voice is no other than Gregory himself.
She swiftly turned around to behold the stairs, this is her first time here. Though he has persuaded her to visit on several occasions, Stacy could not bring herself to visit a guy like Gregory. He has the cash but his lifestyle is nothing to write home about.
She got to the top stairs and looked upfront, Gregory stood and was staring at her with a smile plastered on his face, a smile of victory.
This is unbelievable, Stacy Jackson, his long-time lover had decided to visit him on a day like this. To him, this Christmas is blessed.
Stacy has been the lady he would die for but she chose Josh Bleak over him, if not for how connected, the Bleaks are, Josh would have become a past. But Gregory knows the implications of daring a lion, he can't possibly lay a finger on the true blood of the Bleak.
"Stacy darling, I don't bite. You can as well come hug me."
He said, still having a smile on his face.
Stacy swallowed hard and shook her head mentally. Associating with Gregory means death. Getting involved with him means her freedom is at stake even though her father would not save her when the time comes.
She knows the disadvantage of getting involved with Gregory is greater than the advantage. She could use his influence to get back at Josh and his bride but will she be able to free herself when she is no longer comfortable with Gregory? Of course, the answer is no, because the Gregory she knows never let go.
She could turn back and walk out but that will make her a coward and she can't be a coward. She wants to prove to her Dad that she could do what she wants without him.
Every action has a consequence and Stacy Jackson knows this.
She walked up to Gregory's spread hands and embraced him. The smell of wine and cigarettes was all over him and she wrinkled her nose to stop herself from inhaling them. The stench was too much but she can't show displeasure if she wants to get what she wants.
She tried pulling away but Grey held her tight.
"Allow me to hold you, I don't know when I am going to have this opportunity again. You might leave today and decide not to come back."
He grinned.
"Grey, I am suffocating here, you wouldn't want me to die before you will hear the reason why I'm here?"
Grey released her and turned his back on her.
"I thought as much, you would not seek for me if you did not want something from me. It's a pity though"
Stacy did not hear a thing he said. Her focus was on him. Grey, who used to be full of vibes and life, is now looking so lifeless. She could bet he was just existing and she had to pity him.
That's what drugs can do to the human system.
When he had not ventured into drugs, Grey was every woman kind of man. She was in the league of women that wanted him and Grey never for one day hide the fact that he loves her from her. She has the money and he has the money and they were so compatible or so she thought.
At a time when she was about to say yes to a relationship with him, Josh Bleak came along and every feeling she has harbored for Grey disappeared and after she learned that he deals with drugs, she hated him the more and vowed never to have anything to do with him but here she is going back on her words.
"Grey, you don't need to whine. Just help me out and I will give you what you want."
She said and Grey grinned and turned to face her.
"Anything?"
He asked, he wants to make sure that they are both on the same page.
"Anything"
Stacy repeated.
"And you will not go back on your words?"
"Definitely, I won't"
She replied, getting frustrated.
"Okay, it's a deal then, follow me."
He said and began walking away and Stacy followed him not having a clue where they were heading to.
******************
Senior Bleak just got off the phone, Silas had gotten the news of the whereabouts of the priest and had not delayed in letting his boss know about it.
It was good news anyway and more good news has been told to him before now. The doctor has called him to inform him that Alex was awake and would be fit to come home as soon as possible.
But for the wedding, he is not sure if it will still hold. That's not a problem because it could still take place anytime. It's no big deal.
He would just go and see how she is faring. He stood and made to leave the room when his phone rang and it was officer John, one of the officers who had arrested Lucy.
He picked up the call without a second thought.
"Sir, we have got bad news, the lady is dead."
The officer said and Senior Bleak cursed under his breath.
"What do you mean the lady is dead?"
"Sir I don't know, we just found her dead about thirty minutes ago and her body has been deposited at the prison clinic. An autopsy is being carried out on her body right now. We believe she died of poison."
