Mallory's Pov

"You know what, Mal? You are really lucky to be in Jewels High." Max said over dinner and Kelvin agreed with him. I shook my head but Kelvin glared at me.

"If you say it isn't, I'd spoil your favourite teddy."

I kept my mouth shut firmly.

My little brother can be really annoying and irritating at times.

"Kids, what did I tell you?" Mom asked.

"No talks while eating!" We chorused.

"Now focus on your food." Dad ordered sternly and everyone kept mute.

After dinner, doing the dishes.............I came out of the kitchen and I rushed to mom suddenly. She slipped but she didn't reach the floor because my arm was around her waist.

"Thank you." She straightened. "At times, I think you have your powers because of me."

I smiled. "Really, mom?"

She laughed. "Just go to bed early. You've got school tomorrow."

"Okay, mom. Good night."

"Good night, baby."

She went into her room and I turned. I passed by Max and Kelvin's room and I saw them searching frantically for something.

Oh?

A video game?

"Might as well check inside the wardrobe." I told them quickly before running away. How could they pack it up together with their clothes? Mom and dad would get mad if they know what these kids are about to do.

"Pssst!" Someone called and I looked back. "We love you!" They mouthed before closing the door. I turned around and I walked over to my room.

I opened my door and I sank on the couch.

I love my big and kid brother a lot but they can really freak me out.

I am Eighteen years old and I am the second child of my parents.

As they all say, I am really lucky to be in Jewels High but I don't see it as luck.

I see it as fate and a curse. Fate because I got there by passing the scholarship exams and a curse because I am the only student on scholarship. The rest of the students are from richer homes except me and to top it all, the JARS has showed up. Its obvious they are the richest because everything about them says money.

I sighed.

I've got just six months to leave the fate n' curse school.

I'd soon be a graduate.

I giggled inwardly as I dialled Kacie's contact. I have to tell her what happened in school today.

The JARS?

Jacob's Pov

"You guys are really something else, you know?" I said into the phone.

"You don't have to be shocked, Jake. Wherever you go and whenever you need us, we'd be there." Arthur said.

"You guys needed to see his face when he saw us. He was like.........."

"SCOTT!" We drawled.

"WHAT?" He also drawled.

"Ray? Ray, are you still there?"

"Gotta go, I need to speak with mom. She is really mad at me."

We laughed as Ray left the conversation.

"So, what do you say about the school?"

"I'm in love already." Scott replied and we laughed again.

"Stop being funny, will you?" Arthur scolded him.

"But, I'm just......."

"SCOTT!" We screamed for the ninth time.

"Okay, guys but know something, you are all chickens........come and get me in my room." He dropped the call and I chuckled.

"You know its not funny."

"What?"

"He called us chickens and you know how much I hate them."

I laughed again. "A guy who hates chickens?.........." I made some funny noises with my tongue and I heard his groan.

"Okay, fine! I'm out!"

Beep!

The call ended and I dropped the phone on my bed.

Those guys are like brothers to me even though we are age mates. I really love them and I know they are trying to make me laugh because of dad's health, the truth is, my happiness lies with me. I have to act hard on myself or even go hard on everyone so that I won't find myself thinking too much about him.

But, Jewels High will suffer along with me. They may not like me and I am not ready to like them either but whoever crosses path with me or angers me, would feel my hardness and wrath.

I won't take it lightly with such a person.

I won't!

Mallory's Pov

I stepped into the hallway and I saw so many students in front of the attention board. I dragged my feet there and since I had a small stature, I pushed my way through. I looked at the board and my eyes widened. The pictures of the JARS were displayed everywhere.

"J.A.R.S! Richest boys in school. Treat them with respect, Principal Pearl." I read aloud and I sighed.

So annoying!

I hit the wall and the big, metallic board fell down. The students rushed closer to it this time. I scurried away immediately.

"Hello students!" I heard faintly and the next thing I heard,

"Its the JARS!" I heard screams, yells and running footsteps.

Well, whatever!

I entered the classroom and it was very empty.

Yeah!

I expected this!

I went to my seat, dropped my bag, then, placed my head on the table.

Kacie's Pov

OMG!

These guys are gods especially the tallest, I think Jacob is his name. He is just too hot and charming. Look at the way he smiled. If I can just touch his skin and feel how soft it will be.

It is just spotless!

I stretched out my hands to touch his face and he moved backwards.

"What are you trying to do?" One of them asked. I can't really remember their names the way Mallory told me. It was only J that sunk in and that's Jacob.

"I asked you a question." He said again.

"I........"

"Just save it, you wanna touch a guy like me? Who the hell do you think you are?" He yelled.

I looked around and I saw students laughing at me. Tears ran down my cheeks.

"Know your place, girl. We are the JARS. You don't touch us anyhow!" Another one said.

"You!" Jacob called out to a girl beside me and he stretched out his hand. She took it without blinking an eye. He drew her to himself and he kissed her forehead.

"Booooooooooo, Kacie, hide your face!" Someone said and the rest continued to boo.

I ran away in tears.

I've never been so embarrassed in my entire life.

I opened the door ro the rest room and I landed on the floor.

My dad is rich but not as rich as yours, do you have to humiliate me this way?

Where in the world is Mallory when I need her now?

This is the worst day of my life!

Scott's Pov

I stared at her until she was out of sight and my heart melted. I really have a soft spot for girls and a really softer one for crying girls.

Jake made her cry and I don't like it one bit.

I looked at him angrily and I stomped on his feet!

"Arrrgh!" He wailed.

"SCOTT!"
