Chapter 03

COLT This is f*****g stupid. I grit my teeth, forcing myself to stay calm. “ Luther is out of his mind. I am not accepting her as our lady—no, not her.” “ Why? Because she punched you?” Ashton says, smirking. “ Come on now, Colt. We both know Luther’s word is the rule. He says she’s the lady a so we can do nothing about it. Why are you so triggered about him these days, anyway? Is this still about Bea?” I glared at him. “ Shut up, Ashton. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Luther might be the son of the alpha, but on this campus–we have the same titles–” “ Titles that we are about to lose,” Blaze crossed his arms. I noticed the girl–Amanda, or whatever her name is, looked like she was about to faint any second now. She was just standing there, like she still couldn't grasp what just happened. I can’t look right at her without staring into her eyes. Something about those eyes behind her glasses makes me feel something familiar. “ You!” I called her, which made her jump in place. It’s funny because she looks so f*****g pissed, but then when she notices that we are staring at her, she quickly changes her emotion into a soft one. “ Get out! Why are you still standing over there? Stupid.” “ No. Let her stay,” Ashton interrupts, and my head swivels towards him as I sneer, surprised at what he said. “ What? You want to go against Luther? You want to lose the crown to his brother?” “ Like hell.” I sneered. “ I won’t let anyone rob me of something I’m sure is mine. Crescent High School is ours, but hers? I will f*****g kill myself first before I accept her.” “ Kill yourself then.” “ What?” I glared at him, my first ready to meet his face. “ Kill yourself right now because we are going to accept her. Amanda will be our lady, just like Luther said. Right, Blaze?” Blaze shrugs. “ I don’t see any problem with that, really. She’s just going to fail, and it’ll be fun to watch, right? She’s not fit to be our lady and given one or two weeks then she’ll end up running in the forest without looking back.” “ Like hell, are you out of your stupid mind?” I glared at them. Blaze shakes his head and Ashton smirks. “ Are you really going to push this craziness?” “ I won’t sign the contract,” Amanda says sharply, getting our attention. Her eyes are fixed on the picture as if she wishes she could burn them right now. “ I will never be anyone’s property and I don’t care if you will kill me after this, but I won’t stay in this f*****g mess.” “ Sign it now or we will make you sign later,” Blaze says, eyeing Amanda, who looked like she was fighting herself not to cry. “ Don’t try our patience pup. You don’t know what you just stepped into.” Amanda hesitates, her eyes are fresh with tears. I was more than a little annoyed with all of her drama when she let out a long breath, stormed out of the room and left all of us hanging with her words. Blaze shrugs. “ She’ll come back for us. Begging to just take her.” “ What are you planning?” I stared at him, suddenly catching the gaze of the person who is called the most dangerous in this town. Blaze looks up at me, his eyes shifting from iris black to golden yellow. “ I’d say it’s none of your business but if you really want a clue, one word— punishment.” Amanda I rush out of the stupid abandoned building, hoping to not go back to that place again and not meet those assholes. There’s no doubt that they were not in their right minds when they said those words and yet, I can still feel myself itching out of fear because they have my secrets. I’m worried about my mom, because I don’t want her to be in danger again because of me. A few minutes later, I didn’t know I was already in the assigned dormitory when I heard some high-pitched tones in the lobby area. The students here are mandated to stay in the school, a dormitory. East wings for the girls' dormitory and then west wings for the boys' dormitory. It has a lobby area, and I was told I have a roommate. A roommate who is apparently someone that I never knew of. “ Well, well, well,” A girl with blonde hair and a slender body approached me. Her lips are as red as a cherry and her make-up looks like she spent 2 hours just finishing it. “ I’m Scarlet.” I ignore the fact that everyone is looking at us like we are just about to have a cat fight. I wanted to just find my room to rest but when I was about to reach for her hands, she teasingly pulled just back, earning loud laughter from the crowd. “ Oh, sorry. It slipped,” she said in a bitchy tone. The sound of their laughter reminds me of my past trauma. I squeezed my eyes tight as I forced a smile and tried to look really nice. “ New girl, right?” My heart rises into my throat and I take some steps backwards because this Scarlett girl looks like she’s about to eat me alive. Her sinister smirk caught me off guard, especially when she shoved me into the floor, making my face fall first onto the ground. I frantically tried to get up and was ready to fight, but she put her heels on top of my head, shoving me further and leaving me no room to breathe. “ What the f**k do you think you’re doing?!” I demanded, forgetting all the ‘avoid trouble’ reminders I had for myself. I don’t know why this girl is bullying me during the first day of class and why no one is trying to stop her. She leans down, just enough for me to see her evil expression. “ I could ask you the same question, little Wolf. What do you think you’re doing with my boys?” “ What?” I spit out, my fist balling up on the ground. “ I don’t know what you’re talking about.” “ You slut–” she says angrily now. I moaned out of frustration when she shoved me harder. I can feel the numbness of my face and yet, she seems so strong I cannot stand a chance with her. “ What do you think you’re doing with the Crescent High princes, huh?!” I shouldn’t have been surprised, really. My blood felt like it’s turned to ice in my veins when I realized who she meant. Of course, those f*****g devils is the reason why I am in trouble right now. “ You’re trying to take what’s mine—” “ And you’re trying to hurt what’s ours.” A cold sharp voice rippled into the air and everyone gasped when a shadow appeared out of the corner, holding what looked like an apple. I would say I am going to be saved. Not that I am sure Luther had any intention of saving me, because he just stood there looking like he really didn’t care. I stared at him open-mouthed. He really loves to appear out of nowhere. Suddenly, the ‘Scarlet’ girl changes her smirk into a seductive smile, pushing me over and walking straight to where Luther is. I gasped and cleaned myself, watching her every move. “ I guarantee you I will make her life miserable because of what she did with Colt. Let me handle her for you, Luther. She’s not worth your precious time.” Wow. I’m more than amazed. Am I being bullied because of what I did to that asshole? He was the first one to say bad things to me. I can’t keep my mouth shut. I was prepared to handle myself in this situation when what Luther said next stopped me from getting up. “ I guarantee you don’t want to mess with her, Scarlet,” he snaps at her. “ You know the princes of Crescent High protect their lady at whatever cost, right?” Everyone’s mouth literally drops open, including mine. I’m about to protest with his words when Scarlet gasps heavily, her entire demeanor changes into dark. Her terrified look slides from Luther and I, then she looks over her shoulder where every girl starts to whisper about me being the new lady of Crescent High. Luther casually walks towards where I am. I back up, but he keeps coming, backing me up further and further until Luther snakes his arms over my waist, holding me close for everyone to witness. “ You can’t escape us now,” Luther says, his lips curling up in a cold smile as he looks straight into my eyes. “ I gave you a chance to make it all easy for us, remember? Don’t blame me if these girls continue to torment you because you don’t want to be ours.” “I–” I try to say something, but he squeezes his hold into my waist, cutting off my response. “ Let’s go to your room, pup,” he says, his voice loud enough for everyone to hear and gasp. I get slightly lost and let him lead the way. We were already on the steps of the stairs when Luther suddenly had the urge to turn around. “ I forgot to warn you but this girl,” he looks at me, his eyes are hard,“ this girl belongs to Blaze, Colt, Ashton and I. Anyone who tries to go against her will be our enemy. She, Amanda St. Claire is the new lady of Crescent High School, indefinitely.” He said those last words with the coldest voice I ever heard in my whole life. However, while saying those, I noticed one thing. His eyes never left Scarlet during his speech, and I’m dying to know why.
