4 Sam moved up the short path towards the cave entrance, several metres from where the bodies lay. Sarah was right, he had to duck his head as he cautiously entered the dark interior and paused. It was even smaller than it appeared from the outside. The ceiling was uneven, and low, tapering even lower towards the rear. Crouching, he moved forward, peering intently into the dim interior. It was cooler inside. The cave was not deep, but he suspected the sunlight, and the accompanying heat of the day, never penetrated further than a couple of feet beyond the entrance.
