Monster

Raphael's POV    It's been 10 years since I was last in this house, the house where my princess lives, I haven't seen her since I was ten and she was seven. My dad used to sell to her mom so I grew up coming over her house every week and the first moment I seen her, I knew I was in love with her, and wanted her to be my wife one day.      My name's Raphael Black, i'm twenty now, my dad was the capo of the italian mafia until he passed the title down to me when I turned eighteen, now I handle all of his business including his side deals. Arina's mother was his best client and today she called me asking for five bags of crack, now i'm sitting on her couch with my two of my men waiting for Arina to walk through the door.     When I tried to discuss payment with Ms.Nash, she quickly told me she didn't have any money and would give me Arina in exchange. Apart of me was angry that she would just sell her daughter for drugs but deep down I wanted to accept the offer. When I was younger I noticed the bruises and cuts on Arina and the way she flinched when I would go to touch her or braid her hair, it was clear that her mother abused her and if my thoughts were correct she probably still did to this day.     She began to ramble on about how Arina was ungrateful and disrespectful and how I could make good money off of her if I decided to accept the offer. At first I was going to spare her life because she's the mother of my princess but now I decided I didn't really care for her life and went back to my seat on the couch.      Half an hour later, my princess walked through the door with loads of bags in her hands. She still looked as beautiful as she did ten years ago, she had dark brown wavy hair that stopped at her waist even in a high ponytail and pale blue eyes that looked like they were staring into your soul.     She smiled at us shyly before calling out for her mother who came rushing back into the living room nervously. Going into the kitchen I watched Arina stand off beside the kitchen counter staring at me as she  listened to our conversation, I had accepted the offer and gave Ms.Nash five little baggies to which she snatched quickly with the brightest smile I've ever seen.     "Arina go pack your things, you belong to the nice young man here." she said without her smile ever leaving her face. Arina didn't move from her spot though instead her face morphed into an angry glare.     She yelled at her mother refusing to go anywhere and about how she didn't even know me. I mentally laughed at that and before I knew it, I had Arina's mother in my arms with a gun to her head.     "Aww my beautiful principessa, it hurts that you don't remember me, we used to have so much fun together as kids. Now do as your mother said and go get packed, or don't, I can replace it all." When I called her my princepessa she immediately remembered who I was and fear washed over her face.     She pleaded and begged for me to not kill the older women in my arms, she even told me she loved me but her efforts were pointless. I refuse to let anyone who would sell their own child live, pulling the trigger I put on a fake oops expression as I dropped the gun along with the body.      Looking down at my work, I suddenly felt bored, I knew Arina would hate me but I did what was best for her. Walking away i'm shocked when I hear two more gunshots ring out in the house before the barrel of my own gun is being pressed to my head.     I knew for a fact Arina wouldn't kill me, she would have done it already if she really wanted too, so I looked straight into her pale blue eyes and smirked.     "Princess are you really going to hurt me? We were once friends, you just said you loved me", I laughed trying to defuse the situation.     "No I loved the old you! You aren't that little boy that I once loved, I adored him! While your dad was getting my mom high off her ass that Raphael was the one who comforted me, who called me a beautiful princess, you're a monster. I could never love a monster like you," she yelled pushing the gun further into my head.     Many of people have called me a monster and sometimes even worse yet hearing it from her made me angry, I wasn't a monster, I did it because I care, yeah I did cruel things but I wasn't just a ruthless killer.     "Love, you're a monster yourself, look at my two guys you just killed without batting an eye. Anyway I have business to attend to so come on," I said getting tired of just standing around, I was pretty sure the police were already on their way and I wanted to be anywhere but here when they arrived.     When she didn't move I noticed that she was in a state of shock so I had to carry her to my car. The ride back to my house was four hours and she didn't talk or move the whole ride, just sat looking out the window. She was still in a frozen state when we finally arrived so I carried her up to my room and left her there making sure to lock the door behind me.      Heading to the kitchen, I ran my hands through my black curly hair groaning in frustration, the guilt of not feeling bad for what I did was eating at me. I had went to grab some snacks and water before making my way back upstairs to my room and when I opened the door, my worst nightmare was sitting right in front of me, Arina about to fall to her death.     Dropping the tray I rushed over to the balcony and grabbed Arina's small body pulling her back over the railing before she could jump.     "What the f**k were you thinking?! You could've died Arina!" I yelled scolding her like she was a little kid but it only made her push out of my arms with tears running down her face.     "That was the whole point! Look at me I'm covered in my mothers blood! I killed two innocent people, I can't even began to be mad at you when I did the same exact thing minutes after you! I don't deserve to f*****g live! Those men had families, families that they are never going to go home to see, all because I killed them! I'm the real monster here!"     Looking her up and down, I felt even worst than I did before. She was still covered in blood and shaking like a leaf in winter, my lifestyle wasn't what she was used too and I basically just forced it on her. Calling her a monster was only to make her upset, I never thought it would effect her like this.     I wrapped my arms around her again slowly just in case she tried to push me away. Thankfully she didn't, I whispered little cute things I used to say when we were younger in her ear but it only made her sob harder.     "You're not a monster, I, I only said that to hurt you. Please don't cry, those guys weren't as innocent as you think they are, and as for the blood, you can take a shower in there and i'll have a maid bring you a fresh pair of clothes. Just please don't cry." I was practically begging her to calm down and when she finally did I sent her to take a shower before locking the door to the balcony and leaving the room.     "Nana Marie could you take a fresh pair of clothes up to my lady and just check up on her until I finish taking care of this business?" She nodded and smiled walking away.     Nana Marie was like my grandmother, whenever I wasn't with my mom or dad, she would watch over me teaching me how to cook and clean or just spending time with me, so I easily trusted her with Arina over anyone else in the house.     Stepping into my office I take a seat across from my father who is waiting patiently to hear how the deal went. I know he'll be upset with what I decided to do but truly I don't care.     "I trust that the deal went okay, my son?" he asked before I even managed to clear my thoughts but that's how the mafia worked, you had to be quick and smart, or else be killed.     "Ms.Nash didn't have any money. Instead she traded her daughter over and I excepted the trade with no problem, I understand that you're probably upset with me for losing profit but if I didn't except the trade she would have probably tried to sell her own daughter to someone much worse, and if i'm being completely honest I've loved Arina since the first time you took me with you to Ms.Nash's house."      The room fell in a tense silence, my father didn't say anything instead he just stared at me, anyone who knew my father knew he was a ruthless man but he loved his children dearly and would never take away our chance at finding love if we had it, he wasn't like those cliche mafia boss who treated his kids horribly to make them stronger. Instead he'd spend time with my sister and I teaching us all the ways to be a great leader.     "I always knew you fancied the little Nash, the first time I caught you braiding her hair like your mom taught you, I could see that something was there, you used to beg me to take you with me when I would go over to see Carmen so i'm not angry at all. Granted I do wish that Arina had come into your home under better circumstances at least she is safe, everything else is up to you and her alone but I am curious as to what you did with Carmen."     "I killed her, she gave up her daughter for drugs and i'm pretty sure you noticed the bruises on Arina when she was younger," I replied coldly.      My father nodded looking away before clearing his throat to change the subject. His hands were folded together and he had sat up straighter in his seat, the problem was with the russian mafia, their boss, Tristan, has been trying to engage in an alliance with my family for years but he only wants to do so by marrying my sister off to his son and she nor I want that to happen.     "The russians stole our last shipment from the docks, i'd say we lost a quarter million in weapons and three of our men have been killed. What do you suggest we do to show that we mean business?"     "Make that five, Arina killed James and Mack earlier today, the russians are stupid and most likely will have left some type of clues behind so I'll be sure to take a little visit to see Tristan later this week after I head to the docks. For now I'll have Drew change all our shipment locations and get more security detail around this house for my future wife."     My dad chuckles at the last part but he knew all too well that I always got what I wanted and sooner or later I would be able to call her Mrs.Black. I was the spitting image of my father, same hazel eyes, dark curly hair, and if that wasn't enough I had his temper too whenever things got out of hand. For the rest of the day we sat discussing different ways to deal with the russians and when I would officially take over as the capo de capi.     I was already given the title and the job by my father but the other gangs didn't take me seriously because I didn't have a wife by my side to sit and look pretty. It made things a little hard at first but it was nothing I couldn't handle when I finally got the point across that I was the boss and I didn't need their approval.     After a few drinks my father had left to go home and I made my way to my room slowly pushing the door open so I wouldn't scare the person occupying it more than I already have, but instead I found her balled up in the middle of the bed snoring softly, the sight itself made me fall in love with the brunette all over again.     Silently closing the door I quietly went to the closet and pulled out another set of blankets to make myself comfortable in the arm chair near the bed before letting sleep take over.     The next morning I woke up to pillows being thrown at my head, instantly I put my arms up to block them from hitting me. When I knew that no more pillows were going to fly at me, I looked up from behind my hands in an agitated mood until I seen that Arina was pushing herself back against the headboard glaring at me.     "What are you doing in here? Get out," she snapped.     "Love this is my room, you're in my bed, where else was I supposed to sleep?" There were at least sixteen rooms in this house but I wanted to be close to her so I would keep that to myself for now.      "I don't know and I don't care. You killed my mother," she paused and looked down, "the only family I had left." What happened to the rest of her family?      When she looked back up I was able to take in her face, it wasn't the perfect honey skin tone she had yesterday, now all across her skin was covered in bruises and scars like when she was seven. She must've covered them up with make up before because when she caught me staring she rolled her eyes.     "It's not like they won't go away, you can stop staring at me like a lost puppy now, and please leave while you're at it."      Sighing I slouched back in my chair making no effort to move, I liked being around her, when my father took the family back to Italy for some important family business, my heart grew cold over the years from not being close to Arina and I sure as hell wasn't letting her out of my reach now. After a while Arina excepted that I wasn't going to leave and instead she got up and marched straight out the room herself.     She wouldn't get far. I have security all over the place and nobody dared defy me, soon enough I found Arina sitting in the dinning area eating a tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream I didn't even know was there. She still had a permanent scowl etched onto her face that made her look so adorable.      "So what the hell do you want with me anyway? There's no way you would just buy me off of my mom for no reason, the last time we even seen each other was when we we're kids, so why?" she ask stabbing at the ice cream with her spoon.     "You might not believe it now but I care about you Arina and I want you as my wife, to be the mother of my kids, I always have." Her sparkling blue eyes widened and she burst into a fit of laughter.     "Yeah right I love your dark sense of humor, i'm only seventeen so i'm pretty sure that makes you twenty, why don't you go buy someone your own age and let me go back home, yeah?"      "Damn it Arina, I didn't want to buy you but i'm glad it was me and not someone else! You're here, except it because you aren't leaving any time soon, and sooner or later you will be my wife!" Storming off I left her in the kitchen yelling things at me as I got further and further away.     She's right, usually it would be weird for a twenty year old man to marry a seventeen year old girl but in the mafia, that's normal, you marry young and have kids young, its always been that way to carry on the legacy.      Sitting in my all black audi r8, I throw my head against the stirring wheel, the day has barely began and i'm already stressed. Making sure that the whole house was locked down I peeled out of the driveway heading to the one place I knew I could let off some steam.
