The witch wars

519 Words
Twenty years ago      Thadius sat in the passenger seat as Samuel drove.  It was an hour drive to the coven but an important trip if the two clans were to make peace.  The witches and wolves had a long history, the witches were the ones who created the Lycanthropy curse.  It was long forgotten why the curse existed and it was believed that if the witch were killed the curse would be lifted. That wasn’t the case,  the witch was killed and the secret of the curse died with her.         Century long wars were fought between the witches and wolves, both sides were now dwindling.  The wars needed to stop if both of their kinds were to survive.  Thadius hadn’t been the Alpha for very long and Samuel had just taken the position of his Beta. They were both in agreement that it was time to bury the hatchet.  The wolves had territories all over the world. As time went on the curse had evolved.  They were no longer mindless beasts when the full moon appeared.  They were one with their wolves,  to most the curse had become a blessing.       Thadius had already spoken with some of the other Alphas most of which agreed that it was time for peace.  There had been pushback from other pack members who still carried a grudge, one of which was Theo brother to Thadius. Theo hated the witches and wished for their extinction. He even believed that the wolves had evolved to be superior to the witches.       The drive was quiet, Samuel finally broke the silence as they passed a road sign “Endor, fifteen miles, are you ready?”  Thadius thought for a second. Was he ready?  Could he really negotiate peace after all this time?  “As I’ll ever be” he finally said.  They came to a stop at what would look like a gated community to the naked eye.  Samuel rolled down the window and spoke with the man at the gate “we’re here to see Hannah”. With the flick of a switch the gate opened and the man waved his hand “proceed, follow the light” Samuel was about to ask what light but before the words came out a little light appeared about a foot in front of the car.        The light bobbed up and down as they made their way through the community. It finally stopped at a house that was much too small to be the covens base.  They stepped out of the car and immediately the door opened.  Both men stepped inside and were amazed at the site before them.  The outside appearance was an illusion, the inside was incredibly large.  They had definitely underestimated the coven leader Hannah.  Hannah met the men at a doorway “please follow me.” She was graceful and not what they were expecting.  She sat and motioned for the men to sit in the empty chairs in front of her.  Before the meeting had a chance to start a young woman entered the room.  Her hair was the color of honey and eyes of emerald green.  She was beyond breathtaking and Samuels wolf knew immediately she belonged to him.  Hannah took the girls hand that was resting on her shoulder “my daughter Lilith” she said as an introduction.
