The call part 2

516 Words
Hannah’s flower garden had faded along with everything else that she took pride in.  The new coven leader only cared about one thing, revenge.  She sat in a dark room replaying a video over and over.  With each attack she was able to put a cross on another face.  Rewind, play “welcome guests to this joyous occasion” fast forward and pause.  She stood facing the screen with a red maker in her hand she placed an X on one of the faces. “ four down and one to go” she said while circling the last face.        14 years ago      Hannah’s hands were shaking as she hung up the phone. She needed to make it to the airport, her flight would be leaving in an hour.  The doctor told her he would update her once she got there but for now Lilith was stable. It was a two hour flight and she sat on the plane hoping she would make it in time. Hannah was a healer but there was only so much a witch could do without crossing a dangerous line.       The plane had landed and Hannah grabbed her small bag from the overhead bin.  She caught the first cab that stopped and headed to the hospital.  She sat by Liliths side holding her hand as the doctor came in.  “As you already know your daughters husband has passed away, leaving you her next of kin.  We don’t like to give this kind of news over the phone so we waited for your arrival, I’m sorry to say this but your daughter is brain dead” Tears rolled down Hannah’s cheeks this was not something she could fix.  The doctor handed her a clipboard and told her she would need to sign before they could remove life support.  “ I need a little time” she said.  The doctor placed his hand on her shoulder “take all the time you need.”      Hannah left the hospital and took the short drive to the tow yard.  She didn’t want to see the car but she knew she had to if she was to know what happened.  The man at the gate pointed her to where the car was left and then stepped away to give her some privacy.  Hannah placed her hands on the car mouthed a few words and in an instant images filled her head.  They were like pictures, Lilith and Samuel in the car, Andrew asleep and then a large brown wolf pouncing off the side of the car.  She had spent enough time with the pack to know who this was. “Theo.”      Lilith looked peaceful as she lay in the hospital bed.  Hannah sat next to her writing a letter, she neatly folded it, placed it in an envelope and then rested it under Liliths folded hands.  Hannah knew how to save her daughter but dark magic came with a high price.  Hannah stood and gently placed a kiss on Liliths forehead “I love you.” Hannah placed her hands on Lilith and whispered the words. A single tear rolled down Liliths cheek as she opened her eyes. Nurses filled the room as they surrounded Hannah’s body on the floor. Hannah had traded her life for Liliths.
