CHAPTER 16

Samara

The two fought so hard. It was like something is really off between them, perhaps an unsettled issue? They are fighting, almost jumping, and flipping back numerous times just to avoid not getting caught by one another. They wont kill each other, right? I think they wont because of the rule.

There is a meter to know when the fight ends, the two who are fighting will be assessed to see what level will they belong in the group. I bet I will rank down to the lowest rank. I am a newbie, not even a vampire. A peculiar creature to them who doesn't even know how the hell I appeared in here and why the royalties favored me.

"Nice one, Prince Philip!" Lia shouted.

So the other prince who is fighting Prince Sheen is Prince Philip. They are both princes and both of them seem so strong. Their ranks differ a little bit. Prince Sheen Voltuse has his twin brothers rank close to him. And this Prince Philip is the one who's in the rank 11. It seems that Prince Philip wanted to claim his name and reach the top 10. Prince Sheen seems to be a bit cocky at times, and he smirks playfully. Maybe that triggers his enemies.

When Prince Sheen caught Prince Philip's hand, he used all of his normal strength to lift him up and smash him to the ground. He immediately locked Prince Philip's arm so the unlucky Prince can't stand up anymore. The meter rang and it was like a receipt machine when a paper came out from its top.

"Prince Sheen will be on the Level A and Prince Philip will be on the Level B. I will pick the next two contenders," Lia announced.

She grabbed the bowl that contained our names. She shook it and took two different papers. She read the names out loud.

"Violet Faron and Ezra Weiroth! Please proceed to the front to begin the battle. You know the rules. Do not forget that using vampire abilities is prohibited," Lia announced.

Prince Sheen sat beside Lia and watched closely. When I saw the two vampires who will play, my eyes widened. Looks like Violet is a girl and Ezra is a boy. Maybe their gender does not matter. I will now have a peek at what a normal female vampire's strength is and how strong it can reach. I hope to watch a princess' strength too.

The battle began and I covered my ears again because of the sound of the banging gong. Damn, it is breaking my eardrums!

Ezra attacked Violet. He tried to hug her stomach and pinned her to the ground but Violet was quick. He immediately pulled Ezra's hand and kicked his back. Ezra fell to the ground and Violet kicked Ezra's face. The meter rang and a paper came out but Violet kicked Ezra again. Some vampires stopped them and calmed Violet down.

"They are ex-lovers. Ezra cheated on Violet. The girl has a big grudge against him. That Ezra is always a cocky asshole. He deserves more kick," Prince Sheen said.

I hate cheaters, relationship cheaters. I also don't cheat on exams. I can study a whole book in just one sitting but I can't take all of the shocking information I got when I appeared in this world. How ironic it is.

"Violet Faron will be on Level A and Ezra Weiroth will be on Level C! I will now pick the third duo!" Lia announced.

Another five duos passed and one of them had drawn. They both went to the Level B. It seems scripted for me but Lia did not mind it. The important thing for her is this battle to end. She seemed so bored and wanted to rest.

"Samara Ivy Saxon and Clouie Nightshed! Please proceed to the front!" Lia shouted.

Damn, it is my turn. Lia looks so excited to see me fight. Can I really fight and have the same level of moves like a vampire? Damn, let me hit that girl even a single punch and I will be happy. And if she kills me, let my soul go back to this world and I will drag that b***h to hell.

"Go, Samara! Good luck, you can do it! She is a cousin of mine, Clouie Bloodtear Nightshed. She fights good but I know you are better," Lia whispered to me before pushing me to go to the front.

My eyes widened and I walked in shock until I faced Clouie. She is tall, tall as me, and is a pretty curly-haired woman. She smirked, she have gold teeth caps. Looks like this girl is badass.

Our battle started and Clouie faked her first attack. All of them laughed and that made my good mood drop. This is a battle. Should I try breaking her bones?

She ran towards me so I waited for her to reach me. She faked going to my left and attacking my stomach. I caught her right fist and pulled her so she will lose her balance. I punched her face so hard that made her puke blood. She fell to the ground and I took the advantage.

I sat on her stomach and punched her continuously. The meter rang and Lia caught my arm to pull me away. Sheen helped Clouie to stand up. Did I overdo it? But the best thing is I won! She was cocky, I know she will do what I did if I didn't fight.

"Damn, you are really badass! You looked cool! That Clouie is a bully, she deserves it. Even if she says shell go easy on you, that won't work. Your fist is good," Lia complimented.

I smiled, I thought I punched Clouie too much. I guess fighting is normal here if its announced as a battle. Vampires do like that from what I know. Luckily I didn't get even a single hit and got distracted because if I lost my guard earlier, I will be dead meat.

I got to Level A while Clouie got to Level C. She looks so mad at me, looks like I should add her to the list of girls who hate me.

"Are you Samara Ivy Saxon?"

A strict voice from the back caught my attention. I looked at her and she looked like a strict teacher or a lady police officer. She was wearing a skirt and a black top. Looks like she is in her middle 40s.

"Yes, I am, ma'am. How can I help you?" I asked.

"Doctor Suzy, it is nice to meet you again! Are you here to check on Samara?" Lia asked, kissing the woman's cheek.

"Yes, Princess Lia. I am with my team. You can come with us. Ask Prince Sheen to handle the Claw's leveling battle system," she said.

I am out of place, I don't know what to say. She is a doctor and from what I heard, she will examine me. What kind of examinations will I do? Taking a portion of my skin? Doing blood test? Monitoring my vitals? I will see all of it later.

Lia talked to Prince Sheen about the battle. I have been left with Doctor Suzy.

"I am Doctor Suzy Potiland, Samara. I am the one who will handle you while you are here in our world. My team will make you take examinations to figure out what you really are. You are a mystery to all of us and mysteries need to be unfold," Doctor Suzy said while smiling.

"And what if I am really a human? Will you send me back to my world?" I asked.

"You still believe that?" she asked. "I doubt you are a human by just looking at you. Rare-colored beautiful eyes and red crimson hair. You belong to our world, dear. And I am here to prove that."

I lost my words. She is here to prove that. So I am really not a human. I am now questioning my existence. What am I? A vampire? A werewolf? Or rather a witch? I don't even know what kind of creatures exist in this world!

"Hi, I am done talking to Sheen! Let's go now, shall we?" Lia asked. Running towards us. "Where are we going by the way?"

"To the school's basement, the ability assessment lab. We brought potions to try on Samara. We also brought some medicines that can figure out if she can heal, or her blood is poison. I am sure we can figure out some information about Samara later," Doctor Suzy said.

We walked towards the big school campus. I looked back and Chrollo is eyeing me. I immediately diverted my gaze. Why is he looking at me again? Oh, I remember, I am with her sister. I also learned that the leaders of each group don't need to have the battle leveling because they automatically go to Level A. It is also given that they are the most powerful.

"I also brought books for you to read, Samara. The king doesnt want you to read books that are not directly from us because some historical information might be tattered. We have books that can tell the true story from the start until the latest events and creatures. I will give it to you later," Doctor Suzy added. I smiled at her.

We got to the campus' basement. There was a laboratory that has bulletproof mirror doors. Looks like I will go there and they will assess me. There will be trials and challenges for sure.

Doctor Suzy introduced me to her crew. There are a total of seven people here. A lot more people are on the Mezmarat Kingdom's science research facility. All of them are the heads who will assess me.

"Please answer these questions for us, Samara. Give it back after answering all of it," Mister Neri said.

I accepted the paper and answered the questions. There are a total of 60 questions and all of them are questions for me. Like what I felt when I appeared here. The peculiar things I am experiencing.

After answering it they asked me to drink a pink potion. It doesn't smell, nor taste like anything. I thought the taste will be awful but it is like water. It has no bitterness or sweetness, just bland.

Doctor Suzy came with me inside the room where the glass door split us from the main room. Chains appeared from the ceiling. Doctor Suzy asked me to chain myself. She chained my left arm after I chained myself to the remaining locks.

"Why do I need to chain myself?" I asked.

"Because this will hurt a lot. At first, your head will hurt like your brain is spinning. Second, your muscles will tighten that feels like you are numb. And third, your body will feel like you are burning in an oven," she explained.

My eyes widened, "Oh hell." I can't take that. I might die! I am not like them!

"Stop this, I might not make it! I am not like you! I might die!" I shouted.

"No, you will not die. The spell I will cast will react on your body that is why it will hurt. It will reveal the spells cast on your body that hides your true identity. I will now start. Bear with the feeling, Samara. You can do this," Doctor Suzy explained.

My palms are sweating, I am nervous. When Doctor Suzy started reading words from the book she is holding, her eyes started to glow violet. Vampires can turn their eyes to red, wolves can turn theirs to yellow, and witches can turn their eyes to violet. They tend to change their eye colors when they use their power or when they are mad based on my observations.

I felt the first effect. I can't properly hear what Doctor Suzy is saying. My body became numb and tightened when a green sphere enveloped my body. And the worst side effect, I shouted in pain when I felt my body is burning. It hurts so much! I can't take it anymore.

The pain diverted my attention when unknown writings appeared on my skin. It covered my whole body and it is glowing in violet. Doctor Suzy stopped when the unknown writings stopped glowing. I fell to the ground because of tiredness. That drained my energy.

Mister Neri helped me remove the chains. Doctor Suzy cast a spell on me again and asked me to chew a leaf. My eyes widened when I felt energized again. Woah, they can do this!? Amazing!

I stood up and went to Doctor Suzy's direction when she called me. She showed me the picture of when I was shouting in pain earlier and the unknown writings that appeared on my body.

What the hell is that?

"I don't know what these writings are. This is the first time I encountered unknown writings in my entire life. I can't even figure out what spell is cast on you, Samara," Doctor Suzy said and faced me. "You know what that means, right? You are not human, Samara. A human can't contain unknown writings of our world. A spell is concealing your true identity."

I massaged my temple. So my parents were lying to me? All of my life, I lived full of lies? But why the hell all of this is happening to me right now? I just wanted a normal life!

"I know your mind is in chaos, Samara. Things are meant to happen and you can't change that. You will accept all of this as time passes by. But please, don't hate whatever creature you will be. You are more than accepted here that is why we are helping you," Lia said and caressed my back. Her words calmed me.

There are a lot of things that happened and I will need to wait for the results. And if there are lies, I need to think that they have done it to protect me. And whatever those lies that need to be unfolded are, be it white lies.

"I need to do some research about the writings but in the meantime, there is one remaining test we need to do to have a final hint of what kind of creature Samara is," Doctor Suzy said and looked at me. "The potion you drank, it enhances the supernatural skills you have. Maybe that can show your abilities. I read from your answers that you sometimes hear voices from long distances. The potion will take effect any minute from now."

Doctor Suzy explained that me and Lia will fight. That will show my abilities, and Doctor Suzy and her whole team are hoping that it will work.

We walked inside the glass doors and the doors locked. I faced Lia and we waited for the potion to take over my strength. When my body was glowing pink, my eyes widened when I moved gracefully. It looks like I am floating but I am moving faster.

I grabbed Lia's hand from behind but she caught my right leg. I heard her left leg move and I move swiftly to catch her neck and throw her to the end of the room. She quickly got up and looked at me with admiration.

"Looks like I know what creature you are now, Samara. Fight me and show me your skills!" Lia shouted and attacked me.

Lia was so fast that I did not see her hug my stomach and pin me to the ground. She punched my face like what I did to Violet earlier. She is copying my moves.

I am flexible, that is what she did not know. I raised my two feet and caught Lias neck. I managed to change our position. I am now on top of Lia.

I pulled her hair and punched her face. My eyes widened when it landed on the ground. The tile broke. When did I become this powerful!?

Lia kicked me and I flew away again to the end of the room. The pink glow from my body disappeared and the doors opened. Lia quickly helped me from the hole that she made.

"I think Lia broke my backbone. Please help me," I said while holding my back.

"You just need to rest, Samara. Drink this medicine that I will give you before bedtime. This will heal all of your injuries," Doctor Suzy said.

I am about to accept the medicine but both of my hands are swollen. The medicine helped me to have more power but does not help me to heal. Lia grabbed the bag where the things were put into. Doctor Suzy gave me a lot.

"I have conclusions now on what creature Samara is. Either she is a vampire or a werewolf. Maybe her true identity is hidden because she is a missing royalty," Mister Neri said.

"A vampire or a werewolf? I bet she is a hybrid. Expect the unexpected," Lia said while smirking playfully and helping me walk out of the room.

That made my mind full of questions. At first, I can't even take that I might be one of them but now it is confirmed that I really belong in this world. And now, they are thinking that I may be a werewolf, vampire, or rather a hybrid. What the hell?

I am about to walk by myself and let Lia walk on her own when my face slammed to the ground. I heard Lia scream.

"Help! I am sorry, Samara! I overdid your test!" Lia said worriedly.

"Not really, Lia. You just nearly killed me," I whispered.

Strangers carried me. I passed out while they were bringing me to the nearest clinic.
