Damien’s p.o.v
I could see the wheels in her head turning faster than the flash could run. She was having a hard time grasping onto one thought. Don’t worry your pretty little head, darling. You will get a headache. I told her and she looked at me with a raised eyebrow. You see, from your reaction to me being here, I take it that Autumn did not tell you that we met two weeks ago. See, I had come to this building of the K-Q enterprise to see for myself what the big fuss was over this company that rose so fast. The logo looks like a knockoff of the queen company. Imagine my surprise when I met a little girl who I had never met before yet she looked disturbingly familiar. I did not think anything of it until she introduced herself, last name Queen. when I told her I was also Queen, her little eyes widened then she took off suspiciously. Am not one to let s**t go so I obsessed over her. I would have come back sooner but I was a bit busy. And we met again today. She told me that she could confirm that she was mine but I had to ask you the rest. So, Kristy, start f*****g talking. I was not upset. Ours was not a real marriage so she was not obligated to tell me s**t. But this was my blood and now my legacy.
There is nothing to tell. I discovered I was pregnant five months to the end of our contract and I decided to leave. We had no interest in each other so telling you would have been pointless. But let’s circle back. What the f**k do you mean wife? Of course. I was just as surprised as she was to find out that we were still married. I was going through some s**t in my study when I came across our marriage certificate. Our marriage might have been fake but the documents were real. And, the contract was separate from the certificate. While the contract was effectively over, we did not get a divorce legally. So yes, you are still my wife. She let out a sigh. Just send me the divorce papers and we’ll be done with each other. Okay bye. She said getting up to leave. No. I have questions. Sit your ass down. I commanded. She looked at me defiantly. She was obviously a fighter. But during our entire marriage she never talked to me unless we were at an event or dinner with my parents. Everyone thought we were so in love and the tabloids and magazines were shocked at our separation. She was a really good actress. She should have pursued acting.
Am a busy woman. Make it fast. She sat back down and folded her arms. How are you able to afford living in this apartment? Buying a unit here would have cost you all the money. She scoffed. Condescending as usual. We were married for three years and you know absolutely nothing about me. But to be fair, if you were not so damn famous I would not know anything about you either. I own this building. Things never really phased me. I was used to things always going my way having being born with a silver spoon in my mouth and all. But over the past two weeks this woman had managed to catch me off-guard several times. How could she afford land in this area? Surely the champ change we gave her monthly could not be it. How? I asked. She laughed. I knew you would not remember. You gave me a rundown building as a wedding gift remember. This is what it looks like now. I vaguely remember giving her a building as a joke. But it was in really bad condition. Repairing it must have cost a fortune and she did not have that much money. She got up as if to leave. Don’t worry your pretty little head……………..darling. you’ll get a headache. Touché. I’ll be late to see my daughter and I’ve got a ton of work to get through. Send the papers here. It’s the pent house. And for your questions, google me. Ciao, husband. She left. I was too stunned to speak. I was usually the one telling people to google me. But that hardly happened. I was a bit of a celebrity. Well known through out the city, the state and the country. Just who the f**k had I been married to.
I took out my phone. Hey Bixby. Search Christina Queen? s**t. I did not even know her maiden name. she was Christina Kendall-Queen. oh. That had a nice ring to it. Wait, she kept my name? she was the ceo of K-Q enterprises. She is a ceo? since when? There was a logo of the company. It was the queen knock off. Wait, if the company was hers, technically it was not a knockoff. More like a branch. The company was worth billions. I had to do a double take. Did I read that s**t right? Not millions, billions. K-Q enterprises deals with construction, accounting. Accounting? She was an accountant? I thought she was just a secretary? I clicked the accounting bubble. It said that the company was established fifteen years ago. That was before I met her. She owned it with her friends Kira and Allison. I vaguely[H11] remembered those names. I pressed back. Her company also dealt with designer items. Bags, clothes, jewelry, shoes they had it. Odd. And their biggest business, k-q motors who dealt with car imports and distributions. They were mostly luxury cars. Wow. She did not need me at all. She was rich. I got up and just started driving. The guys were still around town. I gave them a call and asked them to meet at my house.
I pulled in to my garage to find their cars. The elevator ride felt like ages. It opened right into the living room. The guys were sat around looking as confused as hell. What’s up bro.
You called?
You look like s**t man.
They all spoke up at the same time. I sat and looked at them. Turns out the girl was my daughter. They all sat up and yelled a uniform what?! She is mine and Kristy’s. Tyler and Cole looked even ore surprised. Dylan not so much. I got up and got straight to his face. Did you know? i asked. He raised his hands in defense. That you had a child? No. that Kristy had a child, yes. There were rumors all around the company for a while. But then she disappeared. I sat back down. Something clicked suddenly. Kristy was the ceo I was looking for. She is also a billionaire. I suddenly declared. Oh she made it? I mean we keep in touch for business but I did not know she achieved her dream. Dylan exclaimed. I was confused. She was already a millionaire when she came to work for me. She was using me as a stepping stone for her business. She did me a small favor and I let her mooch off of my fame and connections. It would explain why she agreed to marry you. The Queen brand is a big brand and I guess it was her hail Mary to increased wealth. smart. He explained. I really should have paid attention to my wife. She was an enigma. And the more I learnt about her, the more I was intrigued. I know I said she was not my type, but I was wrong. She was everything I would want in a woman.
I laughed. I believed there was a god but I was not the religious type. But right in this moment I felt like god had opened a window for me. Kristy was still my wife. Wait that’s right. She was talking about divorce. Oh hell no. there was no way I was letting her go now. She had my daughter. I suddenly had an heir to queen enterprises. I should call my parents. They seemed fond of her and mom has been pressuring me to get married. She wanted grand kids. They had one. I excused myself from the guys and video called. We got the usual banter going until dad paused.
Every time we call you, you are usually the epitome of perfection. You look like s**t son.is everything okay?
I have news. They looked at me suspiciously.
Did you get someone pregnant? That would be great news considering you never show interest in anyone. Dad said.
Except that annoying bimbo that is always hanging off his arm every three months. I hate that hoe. Mom complained. She was talking about Malia. A model who did ads for our company.
It would even be better if you were gay. We are woke. We don’t mind. I laughed. They guessed it right the first time.
I got someone pregnant. I declared.
Mom shrieked. When? Who? Can we meet her? It’s not Malia is it?
One question at a time mom. It was ten years ago. They looked confused. It is Kristy. Dad perked up at that.
Kristy is back? Where is she? Can I talk to her? He said excitedly.
Wait, you have a ten-year-old child with Kristy? Mom asked.
I have a ten-year-old daughter with Kristy. Her name is Autumn and she looks just like me. I explained.
Where are they? I want to meet them right now, dad demanded.
You can’t. It’s been a decade. Give me a little time and I will take you to her or bring her to you. I tried to reason.
How much time? The businessman in dad was out.
Two weeks.
Am giving you up to Monday. If you don’t ill find her myself. He hung up. Great. Dad was expecting to meet his daughter-in-law in four days and Kristy was expecting divorce papers. Everything was great.
