My mystery mate

Chapter 19

I wake up to an empty space next me. Nick has gone. I turn over to check the time and find a note. Reading 'I've had to go to work, call by I will be free for you. I love you' I feel like so much of Nick is still a mystery what pack does he belong to? Where does his pack live? I've only ever met the few pack members that work at his building. I sit looking over the paperwork my parents gave me. Maybe going to see Nick will help me make a decision on what to do. But I also need to speak to the pack as it is a big decision  to up lift the whole pack and move them somewhere new. 

I walk down stairs and see Jake standing in my kitchen. “What are you doing here? I say beaming. 

“Ow nothing just coming to talk about the move”.

“What move?” i say coyly.

“The one back to the old country the whole pack is so excited about it. Plus they are desperate to hear all the plans like, are you going to leave some behind to run it or are you just going to bring in humans?” 

“I hadn't thought that far ahead”. I say rubbing my neck. 

As my fingers touch the tender spot I get taken back to thoughts of last night. “I need to talk to Nick. This is going to affect him as well”. I say looking down. “What if he doesn't want to move and wants to stay here”. Tears start to fill my eyes

Jake puts his arm around me 

"Isla are you okay?”, comes through my mind link. It sounds like Nick. Caesar says he sensed that you were upset. 

“I'm fine, I will be at the office in like 2 hours we need to have a serious talk”. 

“That doesn't sound good, are you sure you are okay?” 

“I promise, see you in a bit” 

I'm snapped back into the room by jake questioning 

“Who were you just mind linking?” You had a block on.

“It was Nick, wait you tried to listen in?” I say slapping his arm

“Well Melody's eyes were glaring out. I thought it meant trouble, not mate”. He starts to laugh.

“Ow sorry”. I say letting out a nervous laugh he hasn't put 2 and 2 together yet. Just then I see the penny drop 

“No way he says hitting my arm, he marked you didn't he and if I know you. Which I do, you marked him as well”. As he says it I can't contain my smile. 

“Yep we marked each other last night by the waterfall. It was so romantic”. 

“So when are you going to fully mate?”

“Well he wouldn't let me near his member so I might make him wait until mating season” I wink. 

“But that is 3 months away. There is no way as both Alphas you will last until then”. 

“Well volunteered you are coming with me today. Go get a pair of trousers and a shirt on. We have a meeting to get to”. 

Without question he goes and does as I have asked I on the other hand have to find the perfect outfit. 

I find an ice blue blouse with a plunging neckline that will show off my chest nicely paired with trousers and little black heels. I inspect my appearance and apply just a small amount of makeup. 

“I'm outside” jake calls through our mind link 

I grab my bag and the papers and make my way out to him. We arrive at Nick's office and I don’t even bother going to reception just straight to the elevator as I know where I'm going when the elevator opens on Nick's floor, I'm met by a very cheerful Jack. 

“Hey Isla thanks for the promotion, Alpha was really happy with the work I had done”. 

“Your welcome, this is Jake my Bata, Jake this is Jack Nick's Bata”.

“Ow go in he’s waiting for you and I have strict instructions not to interrupt”. 

I walk in and Nick takes me in stalking towards me as I pull Jake into the room. “Nick this is Jake my Beta have you met?” I say grinning like a Cheshire cat. 

“What is he doing here?'' Nick asks through our link. 

“Keeping you in check and let's call it payback for denying me every inch of you”. 

“Ah but like I said that is for when we first mate”. 

“Ahh yes I recall that so shall we say mating season then?” Jack is standing there watching us only being able to guess what is being said. 

“What that's 3 months away” Nick says out loud and now Jake has all the information he needed and lets out a quick chuckle before Nick glares at him.

“Well come sit” Nick says gesturing to the chairs Nick sits on the sofa so I deliberately sit on one of the arm chairs. I get a sudden pain in my chest and I know Nick is hurt by what I just did. 

“Jake you can wait outside with Jack now keep your link open I may need you”. I wink at him 

“Ye no problem Isla”. He smiles and walks out the door. 

“So a serious talk” Nick says with pain in his eyes I can feel his pain. It's so intense it hurts. I can't take anymore and I crumble and go sit on his lap and curl into him easing the pain. 

“Well I need to talk to you about our packs as I'm not leaving my pack and I'm guessing you feel the same about yours” I feel him nod. “And moving to the old country what will happen with you? Will you come or stay here? Nick I can't be without you” I say as tears start to roll down my cheeks. Then Nick does something totally unexpected and laughs. 

“This isn't funny”. I say getting off his lap he tries to stand and follow me but I push him back. I know he can feel my pain and I see tears form in his eyes. I walk out of the office door straight into jake. Jake wraps his arms around me. 

“Hey it's okay”. He whispers “what happened?” I hear a growl from behind me and I know it's Nick Jake's grip around me drops and I'm pulled back against Nick. The heat makes me relax but the pain of him laughing hurt so bad. 

“We haven't finished talking,'' he says, turning me to face him and wiping my tears. “Let's go back in” he picks me up and I can't help but snuggle down into him. Damn him being so irresistible. He sits us both back on the sofa and runs his hands through my hair. 

“I laughed as my pack is from the old country that's where I live most of the year but I came over as your dad wanted some work done and I had to show him the plans for your new hotel and restaurant the Luna Isla. He also wanted me to map out an area for a new pack house and houses on the land”. He points to the table. I sit up and look at them. He shows me what would be the outline of my pack's land and it neighbours another pack, moon water. “That's my packs land. See this house there”. He points to a house on the border of both packs overlooking the shared pack lake. “This will be our house”. I turn to see him smiling. I can't help but return the smile. “Isla will you move in with me?'' he asks. 

I fling myself around him “Of course I will. But when will this all be ready?” I ask. 

“In 2 days”.

“Right there is something we need to do. Come to the pack house for a ceremony I want all of my pack to acknowledge you as their leader as well. Will you?” I ask

“I would be honoured”. With that the desire in the air is all too much. We stop before mating.

“I have an idea our first full mating has to be in our new house” I say beaming at him that sounds perfect. 

“I have a proposition, what if we remove the border of the pack land and have one huge pack?” 

“I won't be referred to as Luna though no we will both be Alpha”

“Boys get in here” we say through our link in stereo As they enter “go get everyone packed we are moving to the old country in 2 days”. 

I add “Oh I also need the ceremony cup as I'm bringing Nick into the pack tonight”. 

“As you wish” both boys left swiftly. 

“Isla there is something else I wanted to ask you”. He says getting up and coming around to face me. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a box. My jaw drops as he moves onto one knee. 

“Isla Olivia Powell i have been in love with you since I was 12 years old when we first visited the waterfall alone. Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?” He says opening the box to expose a stunning white gold ring with a princess cut diamond. 

“Yes goddess yes”. He places the ring on my finger and leans in and places the most tender and spine tingling kiss on my lips. The rest of the day seems like a whirlwind.We visit my parents. Who have already sorted a marquee for tonight as a joint ceremony and party. Honestly life seems perfect.
