Chapter 39

"Before you say anything, let me say a few things. I won't pressure you into anything, just date me for a few months and if it you still don't want to be with me, then that's totally fine. You won't have to do anything you aren't comfortable with, and it's totally fine. We can go on dates every week and get to know each other more. The perks of dating me are: I won't force you to do anything you don't like. I am emotionally secure. I won't invade your privacy. And won't touch you at all, if you don't like it. All I'm saying is, give me a chance. I will try to ensure you don't regret it." Woah. Lillian was rendered speechless by the paragraph. Issac put on his deep thinking face on, as if wondering if he left any points out before nodding his head, satisfied. He wondered if he butchered the speech but then decided to shove it off his mind. Ah well, no more time for inhibitions. "Say something." He said with a hint of whine, as his gaze lingered around his lap- before fidgeting with his watch to keep himself occupied- feeling nervous at Lillian's silence. Was it her reply? It disappointed Issac....but what could he do, she made the chose. To leave him, once again. "I don't know what to say." Lillian admitted as Issac thought of dropping her at her work place and dropping the dream of them dating and then marrying. "Why did you leave?" Issac asked, he had to know. He was desperate to know the reason. Was it him? Something he did? Or her diagnosis? If it was the middle one then he could change, the latter then he would persuade her to change her mind but if it was the first one....then he didn't have a chance at all. "I..." Lillian dragged, frowning, thinking of a reason. "Is it because of your personality disorder? I don't mind it at all, Lillian." Issac questioned and then stated, as if it offended him she'd even think that he'd leave her because of it. Well, technically, it was because of her disorder. She had grown as a person. Though she had never slept with anyone, she can now tolerate people touching her, without feeling uncomfortable. So.... she should be able to be OK with sleeping with Issac too. "What do you have planned for our future?" Lillian asked changing the subject. Well if they were gonna date then she should know about his plans for their future. She did like him. But wasn't sure if it was anything more. Issac's smile reached his ears- revealing his straight, white teeth. His face glowed as if he were a child that had just received his favorite candy. "Well...... where shall I start." Issac chewed his lips as he thought of their future. He had a lot of plans, hence he wasn't sure which one he should say. "Ahh! You walking down the aisle wearing a white gown with your widest smile. No, not that. Hmm... yes, when you are pregnant with our first child. You smiling widely at me as I decorate the nursery because you're too far along so you should be resting. And. Huh?" Lillian smiled as she heard him rant but them when he started talking about his dreams of seeing her pregnant, a cold shiver ran down her spine. She looked pitifully at him, and felt disappointed. She gently placed her hand on his- that was on the Cafe table- as he rambled on about how he'd get down on his knees to kiss her bulging belly, talk to them everyday and how he'd say 'I love you' to them. Issac stopped talking and looked at her, puzzled. "Did I go on a rant?" Issac chuckled out looking embarrassed, with pink tints on his cheek, as he scratched the back of his head. Lillian squeezed his hand tightly and caressed it with her thumb. "I can't get pregnant." Lillian confessed looking at their hands, not wanting to see the excitement fade from his eyes. "You don't want to get pregnant that's totally fine. We don't have to have children if you don't want." Issac rushed out misinterpreting her response, he didn't want to force her to do anything she wasn't comfortable with. "I can't. Physically can't." Lillian said as she squeezed his hand again. The fact she could never get pregnant never fazed her before. But somehow, she felt guilty- for not giving him his dream. Issac paled as he heard. He prayed to God that it wasn't because of what he thought it was. "You got a hysterectomy, right? Haha." Issac stuttered out, chuckling at the end. Only he knew how desperate he was for it to be true. Lillian gave him a sympathetic look. Why was she looking at him like that? It should be the other way around. And since when did she get good at showing emotions? "The early r**e. Damaged my reproductive organs. It's close to impossible for me to get pregnant." Lillian explained. Issac could feel his legs shaking, his body going numb and his heart beating out of his chest. Why is it suddenly so cold? He tried to even his breath but it was so hard when you could feel your reality falling apart. He closed his ears with his hands and shook his head. This isn't real. This can't be real. 'Physically can't.' Suddenly he felt a murderous rage course through his veins. Why was she suffering? It was all Vincent's fault. What was Lillian's fault in all this? He sniffled as tears began to drop from his eyes. Only then did he realize that he was crying. He could feel Lillian move from across the table to near him. She wrapped his hands around him as she brought his head to her shoulder and let him cry on her. Lillian was usually indifferent to other's emotions and tears, and preferred to leave them on their own but she didn't want to leave Issac. He clearly needed her. "It's ok." Lillian whispered as she ruffled his hair. Issac shook his head against her shoulder. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that." He whimpered out as Lillian patted his back. ~~~~~ "That was-" Riley started panting heavily, breathless. She could almost still feel him inside her, pounding against her. "Amazing." Alex finished the sentence for her, breathing as heavily as Riley. Both of them glistening, covered in sweat. "Want to go for another round?" Riley asked laying on her side. Before Alex could say anything, a call interrupted them. Alex rolled his eyes, irritated but picked it up nonetheless. He looked at Riley, apologetically as he hung up. Riley looked at him curiously, licking her lips as she let her eyes take in his godly sculptured physique. "I really need to go, sorry. It was really fun hanging out with you and all." He told in one breath. "We should do it again." He said after a few minutes. Truth be told he liked Riley. How her eyes glowed when she spoke of something she adored. And the lazy kitten she and her foster sister owned. Riley frowned, a little upset. Why did it hurt? It felt like she was being rejected. "Sure." She said in a gruff tone as she got up from the bed and began searching for her clothes. "Why don't we bath together?" Alex asked as he retrieved a towel from the closet. Riley gave him a wide smile with a thumbs up, then groaned when her phone rang this time- interrupting them. "I will be waiting for you." Alex said with a wink, making Riley blush. She wondered whether she'd ever get enough of that man. She then crouched down to get her phone that was on the nightstand. She looked at the screen quizzically. Why was Sean calling her? Nevertheless she picked up the call and brought it near her ear. "How's the investigation going, Riley?" He said, as if he already knew there wasn't an improvement. Riley tried to say something but as if her tongue was tied, she couldn't give an answer. A wave of embarrassment washed through her. She was ashamed of herself. She had been fooling around and trying to get close to her family, she forgot why she even went there in the first place. "I will link you the address of the Nancy lady you asked Casey to find. I hope it's linked to the case." Case. Yea, it's about time she took it seriously. "It is, as a matter of fact." She replied confidently. Though she didn't have facts to prove it, but who knows- maybe Nancy was involved with the trafficking group too. That'd explain how easily Riley was kidnapped without anyone noticing.
