4 Hours later, Jake walked through the vineyard. He knew the land as well as he knew himself and could probably get from his house at the south edge near the lake to the tree blindfolded. The moon cast an eerie glow over the vines, making them look like they were reaching for him from the darkness. He’d stayed at Lana’s for dinner and knew he should get into bed. He was always up early, but with Alyssa back, sleep would be hard to come by. It was going to be a long damn year.
