CHAPTER THIRTEEN

“Are you ready?” Dr. Monte asked Elena who was now laying down on the bed inside Dr. Monte’s clinic.

Today is the day that Elena’s schedule of undergoing hypnosis, and today she was also accompanied by Ms. Estrella.

Elena nod in response to Dr. Monte. Elena was nervous, for she didn’t know what will happen after, if she would be able to connect with multiple personality.

And according to what she had read last night, hypnosis is therapeutic used to some patients that has suffering to PSTD, Anxiety Disorder, and other mental illness that needed mind therapy like hers.

“Can we start?” Dr. Monte asked after letting Elena to get ready herself.

“Okay.” Elena replied  while nodding, and laid her back and straighten herself to the bed that she saw on the TV where the patient is laying whenever they will have a hypnosis therapy.

“Relax, Elena okay?” Dr. Monte said and started his procedure to hypnosis.

After while Elena felt herself consciousness is being drag in the darkness, but she felt relax, at the same time she can still hear Dr. Monte it was like she was half conscious, and she felt more aware to her surroundings.

“Elena, can you hear me?” Elena heard Dr. Monte said.

“Yes.” Elena said but still her eyes remain closed.

“What can you see? Do you see something?” Dr. Monte asked again.

“None, I can’t see anything.” Elena replied as all she can see is a black. Elena heard Dr. Monte footsteps and his hand next, holding her head gently.

“It’s okay…Now, I want you to dig deeper on your though and concentrate more.” Dr. Monte said instructing Elena to what to do.

Elena din what Dr. Monte said, and put her concentration on her thoughts, after sometime, Elena can’t see anything, until she saw vivid images of her, in a toddler version, happily running with a woman she can’t see the face for she can only see is the woman’s back.

But after a while the scene change, she saw her younger version, hiding under the table while crying as she tremble in fear, while whispering something that Elena can’t understand for the scene is muted.

“Elena.”  A voice called Elena all of a sudden, as she continuously watch the muted scene of the younger version of her crying under the table.

“Who are you?” Elena asked, as she turn around from the scene she was watching to find the voice who called but, she only find the same pitch black of darkness surrounding her again.

“Why are you asking me that?” The woman’s voice replied, “you know me.”

Making Elena curious by the woman voice said, Elena tried to seek the voice, but she found nothing.

“I am you Elena, I am part of you.” The woman suddenly said making Elena stilled as she felt her brows knotted in confusion, for she didn’t know what the woman’s voice is talking about.

Then suddenly it hits her, the woman’s voice is Lena, that Elena didn’t notice that the woman’s voice has the same voice as her.

“Lena?” Elena asked confirming her hunch.

“Yes, I am Lena.” Lena answered as a confirmation for Elena’s hunch.

“I can’t see you, why?” Elena asked curiously as she continuously trying to turn to her black surrounding, but she can’t still find Lena.

“Because I’m only on your head, Elena.” Lena said.

“So what do you want?” Lena asked meaningful after.

“Answers, I want answers.” Elena replied.

 “Spill.” Lena said

“Did you kill all the people I saw in my dreams?” Elena asked, spilling the one of the endless questions she had on her mind.

“Yes I am, they deserve it anyway.” Lena said sounding bored.

“W-Why did you do that? No, I mean do you really have to do that?” Elena asked as she starting to get curious.

“You’ll know soon, why.” Lena replied.

“Why? Can’t you tell me now?” Elena said as curiosity eats her at the same time scared her.

“Because, you will know it soon, and there’s no need for me to tell you.” Lena said with bored tone.

“Then, If you don’t want to tell me your reason, then stop killing people.” Elena said annoyed and mad.

“Tell that to yourself,” Lena said coldly that made Elena shiver “always remember that I am you, and you is I am.”

Lena said made Elena stilled as the truth hits her, right she forgotten Lena is her and Lena is Elena herself.

“And okay, to clear your mind,  those people who I killed was the people who hurt you... and” Lena said hanging her words.

“A-And?” Elena asked stuttering.

“Don’t ever try to stop me, for I haven’t starting yet. Your parents killer is still out there living freely.” Lena said warningly leaving Elena shock. Her parents were killed?! She thought.

“Lena?” Elena called to Elena but no response.

“Len—” Elena was about to call Lena again but was stop when she felt a sudden force is pulling her out and the next thing she saw was the worried face of Ms. Estrella.

“Aunt Elle.” Elena said.

“Are you okay? What happened?” Ms. Estrella worriedly said.

“I talked to Lena.” Elena said while getting up and turn her gaze to Dr. Monte and back to Ms. Estrella.

“And I saw memories of some scenes where I saw my toddler version, but it was blurry and muted.” Elena stated, and saw Dr. Monte nod.

“Don’t worry too much Elena, in fact  your hypnosis results was good, and if we will do this regularly, there’s a big chance that you will be able to regain your memories.” Dr. Monte stated giving Elena a tap on her shoulder.

“But what about Lena?” Elena asked curiously worried “she told me that everyone she killed was the people who hurt me, and it seems that she was up for revenge, for she told me about my parents killer is still alive.

Dr. Monte stared at Elena before he uttered a word while looking intently to Elena that is currently look so worried.

“Elena, you know that Lena is your alter personality, that you created when you are in state of traumatic experience,” Dr. Monte said “and her personality is a vengeful one because of what happened to you.”

Elena nod as she understand what Dr. Monte is pointing.

“And the only way to stop her, is to not let your alter personality triggered,” Dr. Monte stated, “you is she, and she is you, if you want to stop her, It’ll need to begin with you.”

Elena nod in understanding. Elena understand Lena intention, but that doesn’t mean she’ll let her, not know that she’s already aware about Lena’s existence as her multiple personality.

Elena doesn’t want anyone to get killed because of her anymore,  like Sanya and Candice, that until now she didn’t know what happened to them, after Lena killed them.

She will find the way to resolve everything, and took answers from everything that she seek for answers, and she will use the vivid memories she had as a clue, of what happened to her when she was a child that caused her mental illness.

A week past quickly, and those days Elena began to hear Lena in her head. Dr. Monte told her that it was because she had been aware on everything, that made her able to communicate with her alter personality.

And because of that Elena became cautious not to let Lena out of her.

And because of Elena’s mind keeps on wandering, Elena didn’t notice that she was going to bumped into the man who was standing at the corner of the hallway.

“I’m sorry!” Elena apologize to the man she bumped, and she saw that it was one of Leonel’s team mate named Matt.

“Oh! Its you!” Matt said smiling after he saw her face.

“Y-Yeah…?” Elena replied awkwardly.

“You okay?” Matt asked all of sudden making Elena caught off guard for she never had a conversation to any of Leonel’s team mates, but they aware that they know each others name.

“Y-Yeah...T-Thanks.” Elena replied again uncomfortable.

That is the time Leonel came out from the office near where she bumped Matt.

“Elena.” Elena heard Leonel, call her while hurriedly taking steps toward her, and suddenly grab her wrist and glared at Matt, that made Elena awe in shock on by how Leonel glared towards Matt.

“Oh… Chill man…” Matt said coolly while playfully smirking as he raise his both hands as a sign of surrender, that made Elena confused of what is happening.

Elena wince from a sudden pain on her wrist that Leonel is holding while his jaw clenched as he continuously glared piercingly to Matt.

“Aww!” Elena said as Leonel drag her away to Matt, and in a fast pace they reach the green house garden.

Elena got surprise when Leonel let her hand go harshly, as they went inside the green house. The expression on Leonel’s face didn’t change even they already left Matt, his jaw is still clenching, and his eyes are still sharp in anger.

And that expression starting to make Elena nervous as she saw a familiar expression from Leonel’s face, but she can’t remember who, all she can say, Leonel’s expression is scaring her.

“Why are talking to, Matt?!” Leonel asked angry to Elena making Elena flinch from how Leonel asked her, for this is the first time she saw Leonel being like this, and the Leonel infront of her seems stranger to her.

“I-I just accidentally bumped into h-him.” Elena nervously replied to Leonel.

Elena saw Leonel is approaching her closer, that made her step back, for Leonel’s facial expression is still the same.

Elena’s breath hitch when Leonel suddenly hold her shoulders in a painful way. That made Elena tremble as the memory of someone also did the same thing to her, that made Elena tremble.

And the next scene that Elena saw in blurry  was a few scenes of a man putting a child into a sock, that made Elena’s head ache. But Leonel didn’t bother and hold Elena more painfully, that made Elena, thoughts came back.

“Don’t talk to anyone Elena, do you understand?!” Leonel said angry yet smiling at Elena, that made Elena tremble more.

“You should talk to me only.” Leonel continued while eeying Elena who was extremely scared.

“Why aren’t you answering?” Leonel said annoyed.

Elena is currently confuse on what is happening to Leonel, and why is he like this. He is scaring her, that can only triggered to Elena.

And thought about that, made Elena think straight even she is extremely scared by Leonel’s continuously shout, because she aren’t answer him.

Elena can hear Lena, wants to come out but she can’t let her. Elena thought of something that she can do to make Leonel stop and Elena thought of something and with her eyes closed she did it.

And the next thing she heard was Leonel writhing in pain after she kicked his balls down there, Elena didn’t waste the chance, and hurriedly left Leonel, still writhing in pain from her kicked.
