Episode1:The Betrayal
Sarah burst through the door, her heart pounding with anticipation. She'd been eagerly awaiting this moment all day. But as she stepped inside, her excitement quickly turned to disbelief and anguish.
There stood James, his hands resting on Mary's shoulders, helping her unzip her dress. Mary's eyes were shut, a look of contentment on her face. Sarah's mind spun as she tried to make sense of the scene. What was James doing? Why was he assisting Mary in undressing?
"James?" Sarah's voice quivered. "What's happening here?"
James spun around, his eyes wide with shock. "Sarah, I...I can explain."
Sarah's gaze hardened. "Explain what? Why are you helping Mary take off her clothes?"
James stepped towards her. "Sarah, please hear me out. Mary said something was irritating her skin and asked for my help. That's all there is to it."
Sarah felt her heart crumble. It was as if someone had punched her in the stomach. "You think I'll buy that?" she snapped. "You're telling me you were just being a Good Samaritan?"
James nodded earnestly. "Yes, that's the truth. I promise."
Sarah shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I don't believe you. You're lying to my face, James. You're cheating on me."
Mary's eyes fluttered open, a cunning smile playing on her lips. "Sarah, dear. Don't be so dramatic. James was simply lending a hand."
Sarah's eyes flashed with fury. "Be quiet, Mary. This doesn't concern you."
James took another step closer. "Sarah, please listen to me. I love you. I would never be unfaithful."
But Sarah was beyond reasoning. She turned and fled, leaving James and Mary behind. She couldn't stand the sight of them together, couldn't bear the thought of James's betrayal.
As she ran, Sarah felt her heart shatter into countless pieces. She had entrusted James with her heart, and he had broken that trust. She wasn't sure if forgiveness was possible.
Sarah ran until her muscles ached and her lungs burned. She didn't stop until she reached the forest's edge, where she collapsed onto the ground, exhausted and devastated.
As she lay there, Sarah couldn't erase the image of James and Mary together. It felt like a physical blow, leaving her breathless.
After what seemed like forever, Sarah finally caught her breath. She slowly rose, her eyes scanning her surroundings. She was alone, thankfully. The last thing she wanted was to encounter James or Mary.
Sarah began to walk, unsure of her destination. Her only certainty was the need to escape the pack and the pain it had caused her.
As she moved forward, the setting sun painted the world in golden hues. A fleeting sense of calm washed over Sarah, but it didn't last long.
Unexpectedly, she heard movement in the nearby bushes. Her heart raced as she turned to face whatever was approaching.
Then, she saw him. James stood before her, his eyes silently begging for forgiveness.
"Sarah, please hear me out," he pleaded, stepping closer. "I can explain what you witnessed. It's not what you think."
Sarah's eyes filled with tears as she shook her head. "Just go away, James. I don't want to listen."
But James persisted. He continued talking, attempting to justify his actions, but Sarah wouldn't do it. She turned and fled, leaving James behind.
As she vanished into the woods, Sarah knew she had to keep going. She couldn't let James catch up. She had to shield herself from further heartache.
So, Sarah kept running, her heart heavy with grief.
Sarah sprinted to her apartment, tears streaming down her face. The image of James unzipping Mary's dress was burned into her mind. Why would he do that? Wasn't she good enough?
Upon reaching home, Sarah flung the door open and rushed to her bedroom. She threw herself onto the bed, burying her face in the pillow, sobbing uncontrollably.
How could James do this? She thought their relationship was strong. She believed he loved her. Now, doubt clouded her mind.
As she wept, questions raced through Sarah's head. Was James unfaithful? Did he love Mary? Why was he unzipping her dress?
Sarah's heart felt like it was breaking into pieces. The pain was overwhelming, like a physical blow to her gut. She couldn't fathom James betraying her like that.
After what seemed like an eternity, Sarah finally calmed down enough to think clearly. She realized she needed to confront James about what she had seen. She had to know the truth.
With newfound determination, Sarah got out of bed and began preparing herself for the confrontation. She was going to uncover the truth and make sure James understood how she felt.
Sarah took a deep breath and marched out of her apartment, resolved to face James. She found him in his usual spot, sitting on the couch, engrossed in video games.
"James, we need to chat," Sarah declared, her tone resolute yet slightly trembling.
James glanced up, a trace of remorse in his gaze. "Hey, what's the matter?"
Sarah's eyes narrowed. "Don't act clueless, James. I caught you undoing Mary's dress. What's the deal?"
James exhaled and set aside his controller. "Sarah, it's not as it appears. Mary had an insect stuck on her outfit, and I was just trying to assist her with removing it."
Sarah arched an eyebrow. "An insect? Seriously? That's the best explanation you've got?"
James shrugged. "It's the truth! I promise, Sarah, I'd never be unfaithful to you. You know that."
Sarah scrutinized his eyes, searching for any hint of dishonesty. But all she detected was genuineness.
"Alright, fine," Sarah finally conceded. "I'll take your word for it. But in the future, maybe just inform me about what's happening instead of letting me assume the worst."
James nodded, relief evident on his face. "Sarah. I give you my word."
Sarah nodded and turned to leave, but then looked back. "And James?"
"Yes?"
"Next time, just use insect repellent or something. Unzipping someone's dress is just odd."
James chuckled. "Understood, Sarah. Understood."
Sarah believed that she and James had finally resolved their issues. However, she was unaware that Mary had other intentions.
A few days later, Mary invited James to her place, ostensibly to watch a sports event. But her true motive was to get him intoxicated and seduce him.
As the evening progressed, James became increasingly inebriated. Mary kept refilling her glass, laughing and flirting with him.
Eventually, she managed to persuade him to come to her bedroom. She deliberately dialed Sarah's number, ensuring she would arrive just in time to witness the scene.
As Sarah approached Mary's apartment, she could hear the sound of laughter and music from inside. She felt uneasy, but was unaware of what was transpiring.
When she opened the door, she was confronted with a shocking sight. James was sprawled on Mary's bed, his clothes strewn across the floor. Mary was seated beside him, her dress barely covering her body.
Sarah's eyes widened in horror as she grasped the situation. She felt as if she had been struck in the stomach.
"James, what on earth are you doing?" Sarah demanded, her voice quivering with anger.
James looked up, his eyes unfocused by alcohol. "Sarah, I...I'm not sure what's happening," he slurred.
Mary grinned mischievously. "Ah, Sarah. Perfect timing for our little gathering."
Sarah's eyes blazed with fury. "You're despicable, Mary. And James, you're a complete i***t for falling for her schemes."
With that, Sarah spun around and stormed out of the flat, leaving James and Mary in a compromising situation.
