Chapter X – Almost Everything

Third Person's POV

Calum woke up in the car by some wet thing continuously pecking his face. He opened his eyes and saw Luke staring at him, his face so close to his. Luke continued pecking Calum's face until his fully awake.

'What are you doing?' Calum groaned pushing away Luke's face with his hand. 'Waking you up. And, getting some kisses.' Luke simply said.

'You're like a dog.' Calum groaned and opened the door of the car. Luke called Shaun and asked him to do the unpacking.

The two sat in the living room, Luke pulled Calum down on the sofa and drape his arm around Calum's shoulder, leaning the small boy in his chest.

'I'm gonna cook breakfast, let me go.' Calum said but not making any move to get out of Luke's grasp.

Luke pouted and let go of Calum but Calum didn't stand up. Instead he put Luke's arm back to his shoulder and wrapped his arms around the tall boy.

Staying like that for a while, Calum got bored and stood up, pulling the sleepy boy up. 'Let's go to the kitchen. I'm making you you're favorite again since you didn't eat the yesterday.' Calum said and pulled Luke up. Luke groaned but followed Calum in the kitchen anyways.

Calum started chopping all the ingredients while Luke have his arms around his waist, his chin in the crook of Calum's neck peeking at what Calum is doing.

'Are you supposed to put that instead of the normal condiment?' Luke asked. 'I always use substitute because it changes the normal flavor.' Calum said and continue cooking, Luke attached to him like a koala.

He served the food in front of Luke and the boy furrowed his eyebrows. 'What about you? Where's your food?' He asked.

'I don't wanna eat.' Calum simply said and lay the left side of his face in the table. Luke ate quietly, examining Calum's face with every bite of the delicious meal.

Luke poked Calum's bottom lips with his finger. Calum looked at him with bored eyed before closing it again. 'Don't sleep, let's play Mario kart.' Luke whined.

Calum sighed and stood up before almost crawling to the living room. They went back to their normal position, Calum's head in Luke's chest, Luke's arm around Calum.

Calum was about to sleep again when he felt Luke kissed his cheeks. Calum blushed and looked up at Luke. Like is grinning down on him and leaned down to peck Calum's lips.

'S-stop it.' Calum whined. Luke chuckled and continued playing. Calum fell asleep on Luke's chest, Luke constantly looking at him sometimes even pausing the game to push back hair in his face.

Every once in a while, Luke would lean down and peck Calum's cheeks, nose, lips or forehead. He just can't get enough of Calum, he wants to kiss him every second without stopping. Luke doesn't know why he's doing this. He's just gonna enjoy the moment until it ends and that's when Calum ask what the two of them are.

Luke turned the TV off and pulled Calum close to him before laying down on the couch and cuddling Calum like a Teddy bear.

Luke woke up at 6:30, feeling a little cold since calum is not beside him. 'Cal! Where are you!' Luke whined. 'I'm cooking, come over here and have a taste.' Calum yelled from the kitchen.

Luke got up and stretched a little before going to the kitchen. He stopped dead on his tracks as he saw Calum wearing the shirt he took off a while ago and an apron.

'Morning sleepy head.' Calum chuckled. He stirred the curry not knowing Luke is marching over him. Calum yelped as big hands gripped his hips and turned him around.

He didn't even saw Luke's face cause his lips are already in his. Luke was doing it too fast, his tongue is already inside Calum's mouth.

Luke pulled away and peck Calum's cheek before sitting in the table, acting like nothing happened.

Calum was red like a tomato as he served the dinner. They ate silently, Calum looking up at Luke who is looking at him, wiggling his eyebrows.

Calum rolled his eyes, cheeks still burning in embarrassment.

Luke paused the movie that they were playing before he turned to Calum. Calum whined and threw him a popcorn. 'I wanna talk.'

'About what?'

'About life.'

'What about life?'

'Cal, have you ever wondered- what if I wasn't an actor? What if I'm like you? Working hard to help my family cause they're father left them.'

'Why are you thinking of these things?'

'Cause- life is boring for me now. I feel like a robot. I feel like, I'm under everyone's control. What if I'm like the people who's not in their right mind? The people who have nothing to lose cause they've already live the whole capacity of their life.. What if I'm a criminal who's doing illegal things as a job, for them to live? I just wonder, who I am if I am not me today?' Luke asked.

'Cause maybe you already finish the life of being a careless human, you're done being free. If you're not an actor right now, if you didn't ask for a housekeeper cause you're the housekeeper and I am a housekeeper too, do you think we will meet? Tell me, if you're not an actor, would you have everything that you have right now? Fame, money, girls, admiration from the people around you.' Calum said.

'In short Luke, appreciate everything that you have right now, enjoy it. Cause someday, you might not know, everything you right now will disappear. Everything is limited.' Calum said.

Luke sighed and took all of what Calum said. He has everything yes, big house, fame, wealth, people, almost everything. But there's one thing that runs around Luke's mind.

If I am not famous, would someone notice, if I don't have all the money in the world, would someone notice? If I have nothing, would someone notice?

Cause right behind those handsome face, money, fake smiles, good acting career, house... Right behind everything is where the true Luke hides.

And the true Luke is lonely, and in need of love.
