Chapter five

Selene; For some reason, the sight of the Alpha sent shivers down my spine. The moment my eyes landed on his dark brown orbs, I had forgotten all about my father and my hatred for men. Kita seemed happy too, but there was also that gnawing feeling that something bad was going to happen if I did not stay far away from him. Perhaps I was scared that he would figure out that I was an immigrant from the Hurst pack. "Maybe he isn't like your father—-" Kita suggested and I scoffed. Kita always saw the good in everyone. No matter what we had been through, she was always optimistic. "And you know that—how?" "He gave off a genuine energy and I felt his wolf. He seemed kind and caring and—" "Just shut up!" I cut her off. I left Hurst Pack for a new beginning. Besides, I was just a maid, the Alpha wouldn't want to have anything to do with me. "What if—" "Kita! I think you need a reminder of how we got here, what we went through. What we are! Do you think he cares for us? You're wrong." She whimpered in protest but remained calm and I walked briskly to the main house. The Alpha's mother had ordered that I clean the room for the Alpha and I believed that now he would be busy with the guest and as such I could avoid him. I wanted to avoid him for as long as I could. After getting the cleaning supplies, I climbed the stairs into the hallway and went straight to his room. I turned the doorknob, dropping the cleaning supplies to the ground. I then glanced around the room, admiring its beauty, especially the intricate designs and the abstract paintings on the wall. I touched some of them, tracing their details. I stood in front of a particular painting. It was a painting of a big white wolf and a full moon by its side. It was beautiful and I was so lost as I stared at it that I didn't hear the door open. "I never took you for a thief." On hearing the very familiar voice, My heart fell and I spun around quickly, my head bent as I avoided his gaze. I opened my mouth to speak when my eyes landed on his Naked body. A gasp escaped from my lips. I quickly closed my eyes, but surprisingly,my mind was still on what I had just seen, his taunt and well-toned muscles and abs. My heart raced as I thought about running away when I felt strong arms pull me into a wall-like chest. His hands were over my waist and I felt something hard press against my stomach. I gasped, wondering if this was going to be a repeat of my experience in the Hurst pack. I had been careful to mask my scent so as not to attract anyone, but here I was. "Open your eyes," he demanded in a raspy voice. I shook my head as a single tear fell. "Pl-please, please put on some clothes," I pleaded with a calm voice as tears began to stream down my face. "What are you?" I was taken aback by the question and I just shook my head rapidly, refusing to open my eyes. "Hmmmm. You're supposed to be cleaning," he stated, pressing himself further into me and I whimpered. "Please," I whispered as I felt his hand on my chin. "Open your eyes," he said sternly and I slowly opened my eyes to look at his chest. He tipped my chin till our eyes met, locking gazes with me. "Are you afraid of me?" His soulless eyes pierced into mine and I swallowed the painful lump in my throat. "Mhhhhhmm" I managed to croak out, my eyes streaming with tears. He was the Alpha and I was under his mercy. There was nothing I could do but just hope that he lets me go. My heart was beating wildly in my chest and I felt that I feared that I would die of a bursted heart before he would do anything to me. "What is your name?" "M-me?" "Yes, you! Who else is here goddammit!" He yelled and I shook with fright, wondering if he was going to hit me. "Me-Megan." "Ple—please let me go," I muttered and his eyes darkened. "Does my nearness affect you, Megan?" I nodded rapidly. "Words, Megan! Words" "Y-yess," I bit out slowly. His hands on my waist slowly glided to my hips, making me let out a gasp. He leaned close to me, his lips almost touching mine, turn suddenly, "Get out!" With that, he pulled completely away from me and went into the bathroom. Not wanting to be around him anymore than I already have, I picked up the cleaning supplies and dashed out of the room, using my free hand to wipe the tears from my face. After rushing out of Alpha Damien's room, I stood behind the door, my hand clutching my chest as my heart pounded in my chest. My breath came in short, ragged gasps. I could feel the tears stinging my eyes, but I blinked them back, I couldn't cry anymore, I was just too tired. As I walked down the hallway, lost in my thoughts, I felt someone step into my path, blocking my way. I looked up to see a beautiful brunette with brown doe eyes, standing there with a menacing look on her face, her eyes filled with anger and resentment. My heart skipped a beat as I realized she was deliberately stopping me, I didn't know who she was but I had seen her often in the mansion. Her body language, is aggressive and confrontational. I hesitated, unsure of what to do, feeling a knot of fear in my stomach. "Why were you in his room?" She glared at me distastefully, taking a step further, her presence intimidating and I suddenly couldn't speak. "What is going on her e?" We spun around quickly as he marched towards us.
