At the Hoxard Nexus University Residence Hall.
Bigla na lang akong nakaramdam ng pagka-ilang. It seems like para akong sinampal ng kahirapan. Mayayaman at amoy aircon ang mga nag-aaral dito, para akong outcast at naligaw na hampas lupa sa HNU. While I was admiring the beauty of the campus, a girl approached me.
"Hey, what's up. Hmm new ka here no?" wika ng babae, she had a chinese-looking appearance na may kunting pagka amerikana.
"Ah, yes, um." my speech is becoming garbled.
"Uhmm, I thought so. Anyway, I'm Reign Luna Madrigal, I'm from HNU- College of Architecture, hihi!" she introduced herself with boundless joy.
"Woaah, an future architect, nice! Anyway, ako naman si Zach, newbie haha! From HNU- College of Law." nahihiyang wika ko. Hindi ako mapakali at pinagpapawisan dahil I'm not used to talking to girls, especially when they're beautiful, bigla bigla na lang akong nabubulol.
"Woaah, nice. A law student haha! Those are my type. They're handsome, you know... I mean look at you haha!" saad nya habang tinititigan ako sa mata. I felt even more embarrassed and awkward because of what she said. I blushed and tried to hold back my kilig na nararamdaman.
"Your name is cute too, just like you. But that's unfair, I told you my full name but you only gave your first name, like Zach only!" wika nya as she continued to act cute towards me and persist in flirting. "Okay, fine. Calm down, ito na sasabihin ko na Haha. I'm Zach Aron Alvarez." my response.
"Woaah, what a hot name! Nice to meet you baby... Ops, imean Mr. Alvarez. Luna's said while winking at me. Napatungo nalang ako dahil sa hiya.
"I'm glad to meet you, Luna. You made me happy today haha! Nice talking to you, I need to go!" my words as I tried to avoid eye contact with her.
"s**t! Ano ba yan, you're leaving so soon! Anyway, It's nice to meet you too, Mr. Hot guy!" Luna exclaimed as she gently touched my cheek with her fingers.
Before i leave her behind, para akong nag freeze ng ilang segundo when she touched my cheek.
"Bye Mr. hot guy Zach! I hope we'll see each other again! I'll really assume that we're meant for each other when we meet again!" she shouted as I walked away from her. Lumingon ako at nginitian lang sya.
I went to Nexus Hall, the admin office of HNU, to sign the scholarship agreement.
I just couldn't help but shout in excitement because I'm officially a student at HNU.
Pinagtinginan ako ng ibang mga students dahil sa malakas na pagsigaw ko. I just hung my head in embarrassment, suddenly feeling like I was being judged by their stares, perhaps thinking I'm crazy.
Pagkakuha ko ng agreement at matapos ang terms and condition orientation ko for may scholarship, I immediately went to Anderson Hall to attend the opening of the Academic Year at HNU College of Law. The guest speaker there was the esteemed Atty. Luis Miguel Anderson, a brilliant, wealthy, renowned figure and owner of the largest law firm all over the world. Habang nagmamadali akong pumunta roon, may lalake akong hindi sinasadyang mabangga. "What the f**k, bro, are you blind?!" the man exclaimed, pushing me forcefully. I fell down from the strength of the push.
"I'm sorry, I deeply apologize. Hindi ko sinasadya." I humbly said, trying to calm myself down and prevent my anger from rising.
"You're lucky I'm in a hurry, otherwise you'd really get it from me. I'll let this slide! You're so dumb!" He shouted at me as if I were just an animal and not a human being, I tried to calm myself despite this to avoid na palakihin pa ang gulo. I just apologized again and continued walking towards Anderson Hall.
I was sweating profusely at naghahabol ng hininga by the time I arrived at hall. Nagsimula na ring magsalita sa harap ng mga law students si Mr. Anderson. Hinahangaan sya ng lahat. He is an exemplary lawyer, and compassionate towards people. I admire him, and I want na maging katulad ko sya in the near future.
"To all the young ones dreaming of becoming excellent lawyers in the future, I salute you. Keep pursuing your dreams, face any challenges that life may throw at you. May you achieve your aspirations and become the hope and defender of the oppressed." Mr. Anderson said in front of law students to motivate us who dream of becoming like him. Nagpalakpakan at naghiyaman ang lahat matapos nyang speech.
"Hay! I just hope that my daughter, will be like you, so there will be someone to follow in my footsteps, but it seems like it will only happen in my dreams because of his stubbornness." Mr. Anderson's joking remark at nagtawanan ang lahat.
I found myself wondering kung sino ang anak nya.
"I wonder who Mr. Anderson's child is. She's really lucky huh, tapos matigas lang ang ulo, hay! Oh well, some people just don't know how to be grateful." mahinang tinig na wika ko sa aking sarili.
A woman overheard what I said, at bigla syang lumapit sa akin. That woman is the one I bumped into yesterday. "What did you say?! Stubborn and ungrateful?!" wika nito sa akin habang tinataasan ako ng kilay.
"Ah-eh oo, totoo naman ah. Di mo ba narinig ang sabi ni Atty, pasaway ang anak nya, tsk!" kinakabahan at napalunok nalang ako ng laway.
"Do you even know who his child is, huh? You're so quick to judge!" her temper flares up and her voice raises.
"Oh kalma, bakit ka ba affected ha!" sagot ko sa kanya habang natatawa pa.
"You! From the moment I first saw you, I didn't like you! My blood boils because of you!" saad nya habang dinuduro nya ako at pinanlalakihan ng mata.
"Why are you affected by what I said, huh? Ikaw ba ang anak ni Atty Luis?
Ang oa mo naman kung makareact." pang-aasar ko pa.
"Don't you recognize me, huh? Well, I'll introduce myself then! I am Celestine Blaze Anderson. The daughter of Attorney Luis Miguel Anderson, whom you claim is stubborn and ungrateful!" nagagalit na saad nya na para bang the heavens and earth are about to collapse.
Nabigla at napahiya ako nang marinig kong sya pala ang anak ni Atty. Anderson. I just bowed my head in embarrassment and fell silent because I didn't know it was her I was bashing.
"The next time you bash me, just whisper it to yourself, okay! This jerk! You're getting on my nerves!" she said in frustration. "Ah- eh, so-sorry." I said while I'm trembling with embarrassment.
"Apologize? You jerk!" she said, trembling with anger as she slapped me, and then she left.
Nagulat ako dahil sa biglaan nyang pagsampal sa akin. Some of the students looked at me and laughed while staring at me.
I just hung my head in shame and left Anderson Hall. Unang araw ko pa lang sa HNU, puro kahihiyan at problema na kaagad ang na encounter ko.
