Interlude Was this what being in love with someone felt like? Beelzebub couldn’t say for sure, because obviously, he’d never experienced an emotion like this before. It had been difficult to leave Jillian’s house that morning, and yet he’d made himself come home, mostly because he needed some time to gather his thoughts — and, of course, take care of Rufus. He’d fed the dog and taken a shower, and they’d gone out for a walk together after that. During all of these prosaic tasks, however, his thoughts had been consumed by Jillian Torres, by the sound of her voice and the taste of her sweet mouth, by the fresh, clean scent of her hair. And yes, that hair had looked magnificent spread out on the pillows of her bed. Just the mere mental image was enough to make his groin tighten in need. H
