Heart Bound

Episode 2

Lucas's POV

There she is, looking deep into my eyes as if her hazel eyes are penetrating into my soul. Her gaze shifted as the teacher introduced me but she is trying hard not to look at me. She is biting her pink soft lips to control her nervousness. Her long auburn hairs look so soft, I wonder how they would smell?!

The teacher interrupted Lucas's thoughts. "Mr. Black, Please take a seat beside Ms. Sanchez". As the teacher spoke all the girls shot a jealous look at Emily. She was stunned. Lucas went towards the seat and sat beside her. Lana said to Lucas, "Hey! I'm Lana Laquintta and this is my best friend Emily Sanchez", Lucas kept his composure cold and said, "Lucas Black, Let's concentrate on the class". Lana felt awkward and stopped talking. Emily was losing her composure. She was not able to focus on the lecture. Suddenly the bell rang and Emily almost ran out of the class dragging Lana with her. As she reached the cafeteria, she felt relieved. Lana was staring at her confusedly, after an awkward silence, she asked, "Are you Ok?!" Emily stared at her and said awkwardly, "Fine! Just hungry, Let's grab something". They walked towards the counter and suddenly three girls stopped them. "What do you want?", Lana sneered standing before me. "Dear Lana, why do you hang out with these lowly people, you belong with us", said Angelisa. She was Angelisa George, the daughter of the president of the school board and the other two were her sidekicks, Lita Mu and Misa Carl whose fathers were both wealthy businessmen but they were nowhere near Angelisa or Lana. Angelisa was the queen bee of the school and she was so much sweet with Lana just because Lana was wealthier than her. Lana replied, "I think you are mistaken yourself with someone else because I definitely don't like to hang out with you". Angelisa was angry and she sneered, "Lana watch your mouth". She then stared at Emily and said, "Whatever you say, I just don't want to see anyone near Lucas. He is mine from now on." As Lana was going to answer her suddenly a deep voice attracted everyone's attention saying, "Did I sell myself?" Angelisa was stunned and Emily was feeling butterflies in her stomach. Angelisa turned and looked at Lucas with a very gentle fake smile on her face, "Oh! Lucas, I was just asking them not to bother you, as you surely know how these poor people are!" Lucas stared at Emily and said, "Miss George, Please don't bother. From my knowledge, I know how to protect myself. I don't need anyone especially a girl to protect me. So, please mind your own business from now on and never claim me as yours". Angelisa was stunned for a moment, till date no one has ever rejected her. She felt humiliated and stomped her feet on the floor and left. Though Emily was happy she was indeed a little bit offended as he stated girls as weak and a little confused. Angelisa was beautiful with blond hair and plump lips but why did he reject her. Emily clearly saw his eyes were directly on her but she thought she was overthinking.
