CHAPTER 5

Sounds of people echoed through Aiden’s ear as he struggled to get up from where he lay down, forcing himself to stand up, he is rushed by a woman who tells him to lie back down and tells her assistant to go and tell his master that he is awake. The girl rushes out of the tent to go call her master. A few minutes later, Jesse walks in, as he sees Aiden sitting up. His face lightened up because he was worried after what had happened to him earlier in the forest. Walking up to him, he asked if Aiden was doing alright and asked him. He had the strength to get around. That was when it struck Jesse that the league of assassins asked to see him as soon as he woke up. Then Jesse pulls Aiden up and tells him to follow him to the place where all of his built-up questions are going to be answered. Intrigued, Aiden stood up and followed him.

Aiden finds himself in a cabin not big on the outside, but the inside was so big that it scared Aiden and left him baffled that a cabin the size of a small hut from outside would be as large as a stable able to accommodate fifty horses. Looking around him, he saw men and women seated in a circle gesturing him to come to the middle of the circle and as he walked in he could strangely feel the aura of the people in the room and it was massive. The first man began to talk, telling him how he must be confused about everything that had happened to him in a short period of time, but he was going to explain everything to him so he could have a clear purpose.

Aiden’s ancestor, Sir Percival, was a knight who served the queen at that period and he dedicated his life to keeping her safe, but some witches in the kingdom wanted to remove her from the throne, so they went ahead to look for a way to access the f*******n blood magic. He, Sir Percival, heard about the news told the queen and. asked her for permission to find out about the blood magic before they did so he could defeat them. Luckily for him, he was able to unlock the power of the blood magic after a tedious search throughout the kingdom, but the witches had also gotten the power, so he went into battle with the witches and, after a very long fight he captured them, put them together and sealed the power of blood magic in his blood, but in doing so the seal was killing him slowly and before long he died. Now a new generation of knights who believed that the seal was broken and the power, believed in one of his descendants, wanted to use his blood and obtain the power for themselves only and control England, but it was revealed to them and they were tasked with keeping him safe and training him to be able to stop them from executing the plan and to keep him safe.

After listening to all they had to say Aiden was scared for his life and at the same time determined to stop them at all, asked them what he must do to stop them. Another man told him about the book that they possess for the ritual and they must find and destroy it at all costs. He smashed his hand against his palm and told them he was going to do that. Then a woman asked him if he had started controlling his power. He couldn’t recall, but he told them about how he felt in the forest when he felt weak and then his eyes would glow and he would receive a vast amount of strength and he called his horse to help him. So that means you can’t control it. Then the woman asked, as he was about to answer his master, Jesse spoke up and told them him. They recovered, so they had to give him time to rest, so they dismissed him. As he was leaving the room, he turned and asked why his horse had a metallic black color and a man stood up and told him there had only been two of those horses that had ever existed. That is the one Sir Percival used and the one he has. On hearing this, he smiled and left the cabin.

As he walked looking for his horse two boys walked up to him and introduced themselves as Gaius and Luther and they told him they had been waiting for him, Aiden didn’t know why they were looking for him so he asked them why and they told him that he had become the fastest assassins apprentice to clear all the stages of the obstacles, some of them don’t make it, some faint at the first challenge while some took days to even finish it but he finished everything in a day even if he fainted after the last challenge but he still did it, which made them want to see him and the fact he is super popular among the apprentices’.

Looking at them really confused because they had just said a lot within a short space of time he just asked if they had seen his horse and they offered to take him to where his horse had been kept, on getting there he found his horse sitting of the floor. It was then a theory came to him that he and his horse share energy, which he was not sure about so he thought about sharing them with Gaius and Luther. After telling them they didn’t seem lost or anything which was odd to Aiden because that was not the expression he thought they would give they just laughed and told him about how horses share a very strong bond with their riders, but for him it seems he has powers it shouldn’t be impossible for that to happen. Later, they told him that he felt really comfortable around them, and he hadn’t been with people around his age for a long time, so it was like a breath of fresh air.

Sitting in a tent with Gaius and Luther, they began to discuss their adventures with their masters, but Aiden didn’t really talk much because he hadn’t really gone on missions with his master, all they had ever done. He train and. He. They weren’t always interesting. They noticed how Aiden looked lost in the conversation, so they had to switch to the tournament that happens when the apprentices of all the masters gather for fun, but the apprentice just made it a competition to see who is stronger and bullied the weak ones, which it feels like that is what it truly is. Aiden had to ask all about it because it sounded fun, he needed to see if his training had been effective. He only had to fight with his master, who had made a habit of beating him up to a pulp, making him feel he was no good, so he needed to taste new fighters.

So he asked them to explain it to him further. Gaius explained that it’s just a fight and the first stage was the obstacles which he passed, so the next stage was all fights and in these fights there are basically no rules because you have to use everything to your advantage, like magic, potion, skills and even things around you to as far as you don’t kill your opponent of beat them to a very bad extent that he or she cannot move, so they didn’t see the need of the rule. They warned him of a guy named Theo. He was the nastiest of them all because he fought dirty. Aiden then asked if girls fought differently or if they fought with all of them. Luther then chipped in and explained that the assassins didn’t really care about gender because both males and females are trained to their full potential, so they fight together and no girls had ever won a tournament before. The tournament was supposed to start the next day, so Gaius and Luther decided to retire to their tent to let Aiden rest and to still rest up for their own fight. Before they left, they let Aiden know that he had to use all the tricks he had, because he make wits can survive and if they meet they won’t take it easy on him, Aiden didn’t expect less because they looked really strong.
