Chapter 15

621 Words
It took him almost a week to make it to the bustling town the Royal pack had. Kingston recalled that in his day this was one of the biggest cities owned and operated by a supernatural community. Seemed like all the Royal families were stationed in big cities. Kingston made sure to keep his head held high. Taking in the sights and sounds going on around him. He walked past a bakery that had the scent of sweet things flowing out with the scent of fresh bread. He loved fresh bread but had no money in this time of place. Walked past an inn that had a bar not that far away. He was sure that the setup helped them to gain customers. A dress shop on the other side caught his attention for a moment as a pascal of ladies walked passed whispering to one another. He had a rough idea of where the packhouse was located. But he was also not sure how his presence would be taken. He was a wolf but maybe with all this going on, they would not be keen to outsiders. As his footsteps lead him to a huge four-story victorian home. It reminded him of what was called a McMansion where he was from. This had to be the packhouse. He took in a deep breath and began to climb the stairs. He got halfway when two young wolves came peeling out of the house. He could hear a woman yelling at them. " Hello." He called out to them. Both boys stopped holding a handful of cookies each. Both only wore overalls and boots. One had long black hair and the other a reddish brown. The boy with the reddish brown had streaks of chocolate on his cheeks. " Hi! Here to see the Alpha?" He asked. " My father is talking with my brother right now." The black hair boy said. That hit Kingston as weird. Far as he knew Alpha Steele only had one child. How can history be so wrong? Or had things somehow already changed? " Daniel! Trevor!!" The female voice yelled out again getting closer. The young black-haired boy wrinkled his nose. "That's my sister-in-law Sara. She is a bit high-strung. Don't tell her you've seen us ok?" He said. Then both boys dashed off. At least some things have not changed. Luna Sara was still the same. He chuckled a little at the boy's antics. His gaze now looked once more towards the door. A young woman dressed in a yellow dress walked out. Her bonnet on her head hid her strawberry blond hair. Her eyes an emerald green giving away her heritage. A bright smile formed on her lips as she saw him. " Oh Hi, how can I help you?" He said to him. Looking around him also. " I have come a long way to see If I could seek sanctuary with in the Royal pack." He said to her. " Oh! Oh!!! Come in, please! My husband and father-in-law will be with you in just a few moments. Would you like a drink or perhaps a cookie?" He declined both. He soon found himself seated in a chair near the fireplace. Luna Sara walked away back towards where he imagined the kitchen to be. As he waited he went over everything he knew about both royal wolves. He hoped his schooling was not failing him now. He also wondered how much more was not told. Hidden away in the past to disappear from being acknowledged. Soon he heard two pairs of heavy footsteps coming closer. The smell of alpha wolf filled the air. He sent out a small prayer to the Goddesses.
